He said that 16 candidates from his party received the calls from BJP.

Referring to the exit polls, which predicted BJP's win in the election, Kejriwal said that the saffron party was conducting the surveys with the intention to break some of AAP's candidates.
"Some agencies are showing that the 'Gali Galoch party' (Referring to the BJP) is getting more than 55 seats," Kejriwal said.
"If his party is getting more than 55 seats then what is the need for him to call our candidates? But you abusive people, not even one of our men will break down," he wrote.

"This clearly shows that the BJP has accepted its defeat even before the results and is now resorting to such tactics," the Rajya Sabha MP said.
<h2>'Tender an apology or face legal action,' says BJP Delhi chief</h2>
BJP Delhi chief Virendra Sachdeva rebuffed the accusations and said that the AAP was levelling the allegations out of "frustration" as they could see themselves losing the election.&nbsp;
"Sanjay Singh should either retract his allegations and tender an apology or face legal action," Sachdeva said.

Delhi Assembly polls: Congress promises Rs 2,500 per month, 33% reservation for women in manifesto

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi slammed Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal stating that the "AAP-da people" were turning desperate as the party was fearing its defeat in the Delhi Assembly polls.
His remarks came after Kejriwal said that "poison" was being mixed in the Yamuna river.
"Those who built 'sheesh mahal' and those who looted public money worth thousands of crores of rupees can never think of the welfare of the poor. That is why they are spreading lies in Delhi. These AAP-da people speak lies with such innocence that people get trapped," Modi said.
Modi addressed a public meeting in Delhi's Kartar Nagar, where he criticised AAP leaders, comparing them to notorious serial killer Charles Sobhraj, known for deceiving people.
"You may have heard of Charles Sobhraj, he was a known thug. He was such an expert at duping people with innocence that every time people would get duped by him. That is why one has to remain cautious of such people," he said.
The Indian prime minister further said that the national capital has now decided and made it clear that no excuses, fake promises, or "loot and lies" of the "AAP-da" government will work.
He then hit out at AAP stating that during the previous elections, the party had appealed for votes promising to clean the Yamuna river, but now they say that this particular issue does not generate votes.
"This is fraud and shamelessness. They want to make people struggle for water and want Purvanchalis to do Chhathi Maiya's puja surrounded by garbage," he said.

<h2>AAP committed 'sin', says PM Modi</h2>
He then said that Kejriwal's party has committed a "sin" that the history, the people of Haryana, and the country will never forget.
"A former CM has made malicious allegations against the people of Haryana. AAP-da people have become desperate due to the fear of defeat. Is Haryana different from Delhi? Don't they have children and relatives in Delhi? Will they mix poison for their own people?" Modi said, hitting out at Kejriwal.
He said that the people of Delhi, the prime minister himself, the diplomats in embassies, and judges all drink the same water coming from Haryana.
"Can anyone think that to poison Modi, the Haryana BJP has mixed poison in water? What are you saying? It is in Indians' character to forgive mistakes, but neither Delhi nor India forgives sins committed with ill-intention," he said.
Kejriwal had earlier alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was trying to keep the residents of Delhi thirsty by indulging in dirty politics.
"BJP people in Haryana are mixing poison in the water and sending it to Delhi. If people in Delhi drink this water, many will die. Can anything be more disgusting than this," the AAP chief had said on X.

India: Kharge slams BJP for undermining Constitution, institutions in his Republic Day address

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday launched the third part of the BJP manifesto for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, scheduled for February 5. The party has announced several promises, ranging from granting ownership rights to people in refugee colonies to reopening 13,000 sealed shops in the national capital.
Addressing the event, Amit Shah said, "Modi ji has announced the granting of ownership rights to more than 1,700 unauthorized colonies. Previously, these colonies did not have permission for construction, buying, or selling. Now, by granting them full ownership rights and aligning with the Ministry of Housing's regulations and Delhi's by-laws, we will give them the right to construct and sell."
"13,000 shops in Delhi are sealed, and we have worked with lawyers to find a legal path to reopen them. We will create a judicial authority and reopen these shops within six months to resume operations. Refugee colonies that have been established since 1947, such as Rajendra Nagar, Lajpat Nagar, and Kingsway Camp, currently have people on lease; they cannot sell or buy the land. We will grant ownership rights to all these refugees who have land on lease in these colonies in the first Cabinet meeting," Shah added.
The Home Minister also announced the establishment of a Workers Welfare Board in Delhi which will ensure that all workers have life insurance coverage of up to 10 lakh and accident insurance of up to 5 lakh.
"We will apply the same formula for textile workers. We will provide Rs 10,000 as assistance to workers, and for registered workers, we will offer loans up to 3 lakh to enhance skills and businesses," he said.
He further highlighted that the BJP would provide 50,000 government jobs to the youth of Delhi without any corruption.
"By creating 20 lakh self-employment opportunities, we will help the youth find employment. Through an investment of 20,000 crore, we will develop an integrated public transport network and convert 13,000 buses into electric buses, making Delhi a 100% electric bus city under the BJP government," he said.
He also underlined that to promote tourism, they will collaborate with the Uttar Pradesh and Haryana governments to create a Mahabharata corridor.
"We will develop the Yamuna Riverfront, similar to the Sabarmati Riverfront. I would like to invite Kejriwal to join us after 3 years of our government to take a dip in the Yamuna with his family. We will end manual scavenging 100% and eliminate this inhumane practice completely," he said,
The Union Home Minister also recalled the BJP's promises from its earlier two manifestos. He said, "For every pregnant woman, we will provide financial assistance of Rs 12,000 and give six nutrition kits. LPG cylinders will be available for Rs 500, and BJP will provide one free LPG cylinder to every sister on Holi and Diwali. Under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, we will provide free treatment up to 5 lakh in the first Cabinet meeting to every poor person. Any treatment beyond 5 lakh will be covered by the Delhi government, ensuring that every poor person in Delhi receives treatment up to 10 lakh at no cost, even at major hospitals."
He also mentioned that the BJP government would increase the pension for senior citizens from Rs 2,000 to Rs 2,500 per month.
"For women's welfare, we will increase the pension for widows and destitute women from 2,500 Rs to 3,000 Rs per month. We will establish Atal Canteens in JJ Clusters, providing nutritious meals for just Rs 5," he said.
"We will give a corruption-free and transparent state government. Scheduled caste and scheduled tribe students will receive 1,000 Rs per month under the Ambedkar Stipend Scheme. Auto and taxi drivers will receive 10 lakh life insurance and 5 lakh accident insurance. A welfare board will be set up for domestic workers, and we will provide six months of paid maternity leave to mothers. We will double the PM Swanidhi scheme and provide financial aid to street vendors," he said.
The Delhi assembly elections will take place in a single phase on February 5. The counting of votes will happen on February 8.
A three-way contest is expected in Delhi between the ruling AAP, BJP, and Congress. AAP dominated the 2020 assembly elections by winning 62 out of 70 seats, while the BJP secured eight seats. Congress, which was in power for 15 consecutive years in Delhi, has suffered setbacks in the last two assembly elections and has failed to win any seat.

The state government would add another Rs 5 lakh cover for low-income households, ensuring comprehensive medical care.

Additionally, the party will provide Rs 10 lakh health cover and increase the Senior Citizen's Pension from Rs 2,000 to Rs 2,500 for those aged 60-70. Senior citizens, widows, specially abled, and destitute aged over 70 years will see a pension increase from Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,000.
In a step towards improving the quality of life in underserved areas, the BJP proposed the launch of Atal Canteens in JJ clusters to provide nutritious meals for just Rs 5. The BJP also reassured that once in power, the party would continue existing welfare schemes while making them more efficient and transparent, eliminating corruption from the process.

As per the BJP, these initiatives aim to enhance the welfare of Delhi's residents, particularly the marginalised and vulnerable groups, signalling the party's commitment to social welfare and development in the national capital.

"After forming the govt in Delhi, we will implement the Central government's Ayushman Bharat for 51 lakh people, who were deprived of its benefits under AAP, in the first Cabinet meeting. Besides, we will provide additional cover of Rs 5 lakh," he added.
Nadda has called the manifesto a 'foundation for a developed Delhi,' expressing confidence in winning the upcoming assembly election.BJP national president said that the 'Sankalp Patra' has been made after receiving mass feedback after holding thousands of meetings and getting ideas from constituents."We have received approximately 1 lakh 80 thousand feedbacks. Discussions were held through 12 thousand small and big meetings and ideas were collected through 41 LED Vans," he said while addressing a press conference.
Nadda further hit out at the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), saying that a BJP government will investigate AAP's alleged corruption. "Their (AAP's) Mohalla clinic is a den of corruption and a programme to hoodwink people. Fraud lab tests have been conducted in his mohalla clinic and a scam of Rs 300 crore has taken place. When our government comes, all these will be thoroughly investigated," Nadda said.

He further criticised the other promises that Delhi's ruling party has failed to give, claiming that they were not able to fulfil their promise of giving Rs 2100 in Punjab too.
Calling it 'AAPda's track record, he added, "Let me shed some light on AAPda's track record. They promised to give Rs 2100 per month in 2021. They neither gave it here in Delhi nor in Punjab. In 2024, they promised to give Rs 1000 per month. As expected, they did not provide it here in Delhi or Punjab. They failed to give subsidy on LPG."
The Delhi Assembly elections are going to be held in a single phase on February 5, with counting to be done on February 8.
three-way contest is on the cards in Delhi between the ruling AAP, BJP and Congress. Congress, which was in power for 15 consecutive years in Delhi, has suffered setbacks in the last two assembly elections and has failed to win any seat. AAP dominated the 2020 assembly elections by winning 62 out of 70 seats while the BJP got eight seats.

Delhi polls: BJP announces second list; fields ex-AAP leader Kapil Mishra from Karawal Nagar

The BJP and AAP have launched a poster war ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, targeting each other's leaders with sharp political jibes. Watch this report for more details!

BJP and AAP engage in a fierce poster war before Delhi elections

Arvind Kejriwal, leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday (January 10), accusing them of turning Delhi into the "crime capital of India." Speaking at a rally ahead of the <a href="https://www.wionews.com/india-news/indias-election-commission-to-announce-schedule-for-delhi-assembly-polls-today-8597592">Delhi elections</a> on February 5, Kejriwal said that the BJP's negligence and "hatred" towards the city are why they have not held power in Delhi for 25 years.
&ldquo;BJP has made Delhi the crime capital of India. There are robberies, chain snatchings, and gang wars; women feel unsafe leaving their homes. BJP hates the people of Delhi. Because of this hatred, they have not come to power here for the last 25 years," Kejriwal said.

He promised that if AAP formed the government, Residents&rsquo; Welfare Associations (RWAs) would receive funds to hire private security guards. &ldquo; It is not our aim to replace the police,&rdquo; he said, as quoted by ANI.
<h2>Who will be BJP's CM face?</h2>
In a separate event, AAP leader Atishi took a dig at the BJP for failing to announce a chief ministerial candidate ahead of the election. &ldquo;Today, the entire Delhi is asking from the 'Galli-Galoch' party who its CM face is. The people of Delhi know that by voting for AAP, Arvind Kejriwal will become the CM. But they are asking who will be BJP's CM face,&rdquo; she said.

<h2>BJP workers protest outside Kejriwal&rsquo;s residence over his 'fake' voters claim</h2>
Meanwhile, BJP workers staged a protest outside Kejriwal&rsquo;s residence on Feroze Shah Road, opposing his comments about Purvanchali voters. Police had to deploy water cannons to prevent protesters from breaching security. The BJP accused AAP of making &ldquo;false&rdquo; claims about voter registration.

Kejriwal had earlier accused the BJP of manipulating the voter list in his New Delhi constituency by registering "fake" voters. In a formal complaint to the Election Commission, he raised concerns about 13,000 new voter applications submitted between December 15 and January 8.
&ldquo; Many of these voters appear to have been brought in from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and other neighbouring states to create fake voter registrations. This undermines the integrity of the election process,&rdquo; Kejriwal told reporters after filing his complaint.
