Adam Zampa, Australia's premier spinner in white-ball cricket, also broke a record for conceding the most runs by a bowler in an ODI - 113 in ten overs. Ironically, he equalled Mick Lewis' record - another Australian medium pacer, who was taken to cleaners by South Africans during the famous 2006&nbsp;ODI.

After getting whitewashed in the three-match T20Is earlier, South Africa lost the first two ODIs against Australia. The hosts made a comeback into the series with a win in the third ODI, making it 2-1 in Australia's favour.

With South Africa now hitting 416 for five in the fourth match in Centurion, chances of them going for the win and levelling the series rise.&nbsp;

The win in this match will make the fifth and final ODI in Johannesburg the decider.&nbsp;

Australia pacer Kane Richardson has said that probably leaving the Indian Premier League (IPL) season midway last year was the reason behind him and Adam Zampa going unsold in the mega auction this year. Zampa and Richardson who were playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) last season decided to leave IPL midway during the India phase after COVID-19 cases started rising in India and there were doubts regarding whether Australia will allow any travellers or not. To be brutally honest, when we left last year, in the circumstances early, I remember having a conversation with him. I said to him, look, this may come back and bite us, and at that time it wasn't a priority for us to be there. We wanted to get back to Australia," ESPNcricinfo quoted Richardson as saying. "So I think there'd be some kind of buyers that'd be pretty wary of picking us up thinking that we wouldn't come again. I definitely think that's a factor. I'm just speaking on what I think would be a factor in it. I don't know. I've never had a dialogue with a franchise or a person that says that's what would be the case. But I think I didn't go the year before as well with the birth of my boy," he added. Further talking about the IPL, Richardson said: "So my reputation probably is that in the last couple of years I haven't gone so it's obviously not something that I am. I try and play as much cricket as I can. But I think the circumstances in the last couple of IPLs have made me not go. But it's not a reputation I want." 'Proud' Australian skipper Aaron Finch lauds team after T20 WC win: 'We knew our backs were against the wall'

Australia's star spinner Adam Zampa has taken a dig at former England captain Michael Vaughan after Aaron Finch &amp; Co. won the T20 World Cup 2021 title on Sunday (November 14). Australia defeated New Zealand by eight wickets in the final to lift their maiden T20 World Cup trophy and proved their critics wrong yet again. One of the most successful teams in the history of cricket, Australia had been written off by many ahead of the start of the tournament.

Finch &amp; Co. had lost their last five bilateral T20I series in a row in the run-up to the T20 World Cup in the UAE but stepped up when it mattered the most as they went on to clinch the title after a dominant performance in the final. Former England captain Vaughan was one of the experts who had predicted Australia won't last long in the tournament.

"I’ll say it now, I don’t give Australia much chance. In T20 cricket they’ve struggled. Glenn Maxwell’s exceptional so he will have to have an incredible tournament. But I don’t see the Aussies doing too much. England, India, West Indies, New Zealand, one of those four and maybe Pakistan because of the conditions,” Vaughan had said on BBC Test Match Special on October 19.

His prediction went horribly wrong as the Aussies dominated the proceedings in the tournament and were crowned champions. Zampa took to Instagram to share a picture of the Australian players celebrating their World Cup win and trolled Vaughan by using his quote as the caption of his post.&nbsp;

"They needed 18 to win off the last two overs (in the second T20) and I told Finchy I should bowl it. It obviously didn't go to plan but I'm not going to change my attitude after one game.

"I've got a really good opportunity in the IPL bowling with Chahal at RCB and I might get the opportunity to bowl those overs just because of the way the team is structured," he was quoted as saying by cricket.Com.Au website.

He might not have been successful in the recent matches, but Zampa enjoyed considerable success bowling at death in the Big Bash League for Melbourne Stars.
