Any act of terrorism, regardless of its motivation, is unjustifiable," said Doval, in what is seen by observers as a veiled reference to Pakistan. He continued the subtle attacks by taking a dig at China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) which passes through Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). SCO was founded over 20 years ago to promote economic, political, and military cooperation among its member countries. A 'steel cutting' ceremony was performed on Monday at the CSL, commencing the construction of HS Eco freighter 7,000 DWT Multi-Purpose Vessels for the Germans. It has&nbsp;received orders to build a total of eight vessels.

Steel&nbsp;cutting is the first tangible step of the shipbuilding process, where the shipbuilder and customer press the start button of a laser cutter that cuts that steel sheet that ends up on the vessel's hull.&nbsp;

This marks the foray of India's CSL into the European shortsea shipping market, where these vessels are an integral part of the logistics network from North Sea ports to the south Mediterranean ports.

Sharing the specifications of the vessel, CSL said that the Ice Class Vessels measure 110 metres in length, 16.5 metres in breadth, and are equipped for the carriage of project cargo, heavy cargo, steel coils, containers, dry cargo, timber, paper and bulk cargoes etc., worldwide service trade, with a carrying capacity of 7,000 tons.

The vessels will be built under DNV Classification with flag of Portugal, meeting all the latest safety, quality, energy efficiency and performance requirements.&nbsp;

The steel cutting ceremony was attended by Heino Schepers and Hans-Bernd Schepers, Managing Directors of HS Schiffahrts Group, along with Madhu S Nair, CMD of CSL, along with other senior officials.

The CSL said that this foreign order is a testament to its expertise and capabilities in building high-quality vessels for clients worldwide.

For over twenty years, India' CSL has been involved in shipbuilding on an international level and has delivered vessels to Norway, USA, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, and the Middle East.

While many may argue to criminalise marital rape, the other strand of the debate is about the rights of men, which many activists say must not be overlooked. As per them, criminalising&nbsp;marital rape may be used by some&nbsp;women to deliberately file false complaints against their husbands.&nbsp;

What is marital rape?

In broad terms, marital rape or spousal rape is the term used for non-consensual&nbsp;sexual intercourse&nbsp;by&nbsp;a man on his&nbsp;wife. It may also involve&nbsp;physical or&nbsp;verbal threats.&nbsp;According to exception 2 of section 375 of the Indian Penal Code, sexual intercourse between a&nbsp;man and his own wife,&nbsp;who&nbsp;is not under the age of 15,&nbsp;is not considered rape.&nbsp;

Delhi Hight Court split verdict

The new hearing is taking place a year after the Delhi High Court gave&nbsp;a split&nbsp;verdict&nbsp;in a case involving the criminalisation of marital rape. Justice C Hari Shankar, who was part of the high court’s division bench, had said that exception under the rape law is not unconstitutional.&nbsp;

According to Justice&nbsp;C. Hari Shankar, the marital rape exemption is not unconstitutional.&nbsp;

Nevertheless, Judge Rajiv Shakdher had argued in favour of removing marital rape exemption. He said it would be unfortunate if a married woman's plea for justice went unanswered.&nbsp;

Yet,&nbsp;because the case had&nbsp;"substantial questions&nbsp;of law," the judges granted the certificate of leave to appeal to the Supreme Court.

Karnataka High Court verdict

A key decision in a case of marital rape was also&nbsp;made by the Karnataka High Court in December of last year. The&nbsp;court rejected&nbsp;the husband's plea&nbsp;to have the pending rape charges&nbsp;against him dismissed. A charge against him was made by his wife under Section 376 of the Indian Penal&nbsp;Code.

Karnataka High Court reportedly said, "The institution of marriage does not confer, cannot confer and in my considered view, should not be construed to confer, any special male privilege or a licence for unleashing of a brutal beast. If it is punishable to a man, it should be punishable to a man albeit, the man being a husband."

In 2002, Nepal also got rid of the marital rape excemption after its Supreme Court held that it went against the constitutional right of equal protection and the right to privacy.&nbsp;

Marital rape is illegal in the United Kingdom&nbsp;since 1992 and is seen as a kind of domestic abuse.&nbsp;

Since the 1980s, many countries have abolished the marital rape immunity through legislations. These include South Africa, Ireland and Canada.

Therefore to understand the effects of extreme heat waves&nbsp;on humans, Wet-bulb temperatures are used. This is an indicator which combines the relative humidity and temperature of the air. In comparison to air temperature alone, it offers a more precise measurement of heat stress on the human body.&nbsp;

According to the World Bank report analysis, India's wet-bulb temperatures rarely, if ever, rise beyond 32°C even during the greatest heat waves.&nbsp;However, according to climate models, these temperatures could exceed the survivability threshold of 35°C at a few locations in the Northern parts.

In fact, the report suggests that large areas of South Asia are likely to experience episodes with temperatures higher than 31°C, which is extremely dangerous for most humans.

As early as 2030, 160-200 million people in India might be vulnerable to deadly heat waves if focused adaptation measures that give access to sustainable cooling are not taken.

There is no denying that nationwide temperatures have been rising at worrisome rates in recent years. The need for cooling is anticipated to increase by eight times by 2037. As a result, there will be a need for a new air conditioner every 15 seconds, which will increase yearly greenhouse gas emissions by 435 percent over the next two decades.

If carbon emissions stay high, heat waves in India are predicted to endure 25 times longer by 2036–2065, according to the G20 Climate Risk Atlas. India's rising temperatures will increase demand for cooling.

The Indian Tax Department recently made it mandatory for every citizen to link the Permanent Account Number or PAN to their Aadhaar Card last by March 31, 2023. In its tweet earlier this month, the tax department said that the process is compulsory for all under the Income Tax Act, 1961, NDTV reported. It added that from April 01, 2021, all unlinked PAN will become inoperative. The department on its website gave links for its taxpayers to check if their PAN card is linked to their Aadhaar card or not.&nbsp;

Since you are linking both your cards, you will have to visit the Income Tax e-filing portal to check the status of the card linking.

First, on the homepage click 'Quick Links,' then click on Aadhaar Status.&nbsp;

After this, a page will open which will have two fields where you&nbsp;need to enter PAN and Aadhaar numbers.&nbsp;

The server then checks the status, and a pop-up message will be displayed. If both Aadhaar and PAN are linked, the message will read, "Your PAN is already linked to given Aadhaar."

However, if both cards are not linked, then this message will appear, "PAN not linked with Aadhaar. Please click on 'Link Aadhaar' to link you Aadhaar with PAN."

But if the link is in progress, then the taxpayer will see this on his/her window, "Your Aadhaar-PAN linking request has been sent to UIDAI for validation. Please check the status later by clicking on 'Link Aadhaar Status' link on Home Page."

Another way for checking the status can be done by logging into the Income Tax portal and by doing the following steps:

If the PAN&nbsp;is linked to the Aadhaar, then this&nbsp;message will be displayed, "Aadhaar is already associated with PAN in ITD Database."
