A team of mountaineers found the wreckage of an AN-12 aircraft of the Indian Air Force, crashed in 1968, and body of one of the 102 soldiers on board at Dhaka glacier in Himachal Pradesh.&nbsp

On 7 February 1968, an Antonov An-12 twin-engine turboprop transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force disappeared while flying to Leh Airport from Chandigarh International Airport.&nbsp

While on approach to Leh the pilot decided to turn back due to inclement weather, the aircraft then went missing with the last radio contact over the Rohtang pass.

It was declared missing after the failure to find the wreck.

The Soviet Union-built aircraft had gone missing when the pilot had decided to turn back while approaching Leh due to bad weather.

There were 98 passengers and four crew members onboard. A team of mountaineers from the ABV Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports had found some parts of the plane in 2003.

They had also found the remains of a body, subsequently identified as Sepoy Beli Ram, an Army man who was on the flight.

A day after the NDA won the no-confidence motion in Lok Sabha, YSR Congress Party chief has called for a shut down in the state.

YSR Congress chief Jagan Mohan Reddy said that his party was calling for the state bandh against the injustice done by the BJP government.

The shut down will be observed on July 24.

He further said that the YSR Congress would support any national level party if it backs Andhra Pradesh's demand for a special category.

YSR Congress calls for Andhra shut down against BJP's injustice

The Haryana Police on Friday arrested a tantrik named Baba Amarpuri for allegedly raping at least 120 women and making videos of sexual assaults.

According to the police, Baba Amarpuri alias Billu used rape videos to blackmail victims and rape them again.

The accused, whose real name is Amarveer, used to make videos&nbsp;himself with his cellphone.

Police say "suspicious articles" have been seized from his house during a raid.

"We have filed a case and have started an investigation in the matter," the police added.

According to reports, 60-year-old Baba Amarpuri, locally known as Billu, reportedly used to rape women and make their video clips to blackmail them.&nbsp;

Baba Amarpuri has denied allegations saying, he's being "framed", say reports.

However, he is not the first time that a self-styled godman has sexually exploited women.&nbsp;

Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for the rape of two saadhvis at his ashram in Haryana's Sirsa.&nbsp;

Another godman Asaram Bapu, with a following that runs into lakhs, was sentenced to life imprisonment for raping a 16-year-old girl whose family brought her to visit his ashram in Jodhpur.

Haryana Tantrik arrested for raping 120 women, making rape videos to blackmail victims

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday accused the BJP of trying to create an "atmosphere of Talibani Hinduism and Talibani communalism" in the country and gave a call for ouster of the saffron party in the next Lok Sabha polls.

The Trinamool Congress chief's comments came in the backdrop of the alleged lynching of 28-year-old Akbar Khan in Rajasthan's Alwar district today by a group of people on the suspicion that he was smuggling cows.

Banerjee, a strident critic of the BJP, said the saffron party was trying to create "an atmosphere of Talbani communalism, Talibani violence and of lynching and hatred".

Addressing the 25th annual Martyrs' Day rally at Esplanade in the heart of the city, she said, "We (TMC) do not believe in their concept of Talibani Hinduism and Hinduism with weapons.

"We believe in Hinduism preached by Swami Vivekananda and Sri Ramkrishna Pramahansa...Those who now rule the country have bloodstains on their hands."

Giving the call of 'BJP hatao, desh bachao' at the massive rally, she claimed that her party would win all the 42 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

Attacking the BJP, Banerjee said, "Everyday people are being lynched. Today too one person was lynched. They (BJP) have unleashed religious terrorism. Before lecturing the states to take steps against those involved in lynching, they should ask their own leaders to behave."

The TMC supremo said that she respected the BJP-RSS old timers as they were not into "playing dirty games" but not its present leaders and would organise a federal front to remove the saffron party from power at the Centre.

She said the TMC would hold a mega rally at the Brigade Parade ground here on January 19 to sound the poll bugle to capture power in Delhi in the next Lok Sabha election and opposition party leaders from across the country would be invited for it.

Hitting back, the BJP said that Banerjee should "stop dreaming" of becoming the next prime minister as her ambition will never be fulfilled.

BJP national secretary Rahul Sinha told reporters here, "There are doubts whether she would be able to retain the Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal and she is dreaming of Delhi."

The BJP will also hold a rally at the same venue on January 23 and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to address it, he said.

Expressing his disappointment over NDA's victory in the no-confidence motion on Friday, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief and Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu said that the entire Andhra Pradesh was disappointed with the result.&nbsp;

He said: "Entire Andhra Pradesh waited for justice, only to be disappointed again. They have a majority but they breached ' neeti '. The Prime Minister's speech has caused much pain".

"As part of our continuous fight, we introduced this no-confidence motion. In the last four years, I went to Delhi 29 times. Instead of doing justice to AP, he is resorting political attack on me alleging I took U-turn. It is sad to see a man of the stature of PM is talking irresponsibly and cheap," Naidu added.

Naidu also claimed that it was the first time that all the opposition parties in the country came together against the Centre to support a No-Confidence Motion moved by a regional party.

He said that because TDP does not have the numbers, their demands and needs are not being met.

Earlier on July 15, Naidu wrote letters to non-BJP, non-Congress parties' presidents and Parliamentary party leaders seeking support on the No-Confidence Motion against the Centre over the demand for special category status to Andhra Pradesh.

The TDP had earlier made six-subgroups of the party leaders, who would meet and handover Naidu's letter and a booklet explaining the injustice done to the state and seek support.&nbsp;

The TDP pulled out its ministers from the BJP-led NDA coalition at the centre in March.

'Entire Andhra Pradesh is disappointed by Centre': CM N Chandrababu Naidu

Days after the Supreme Court condemned lynching incidents calling them as 'horrendous act of mobocracy', a fresh incident of mob violence was reported from Rajasthan's Alwar district on Friday.&nbsp

A mob beat a man to death in Alwar's Ramgarh, suspecting him to be a cow smuggler. The victim was identified as Akbar Khan who along with another man was transporting cows on foot.

Akbar Khan, a resident of Kolgaon in Haryana, was spotted with a couple of cows in Alwar's Lalawandi area in Ramgarh police station area when he was attacked. The victim's body has been kept in the morgue of a local hospital as the police is investing the matter further.&nbsp

"It is not clear if they were cow smugglers. The body has been sent for postmortem. We are trying to identify the culprits and arrests will be made soon," Anil Beniwal, ASP Alwar said.

This is not for the first time that Alwar has witnessed a case related to cow vigilantism. In April 2017, a man - Pehlu Khan - was killed by 'gau rakshaks' for allegedly smuggling cattle.

The latest incident comes just a day after the issue of mob lynching reverberated in Lok Sabha during the debate on no-confidence motion against the NDA government.

The latest incident comes just a day after the issue of mob lynching reverberated in Lok Sabha during the debate on no-confidence motion against the NDA government.

The Congress Party on Saturday clarified that no secrecy clause was put forth regarding commercial information under the Rafale deal.

"During the meeting with French President, where Manmohan Singh Ji and I were present, on specific query from Rahul Gandhi Ji if there is any objection on the part of the French to disclose the price of the aircraft, French President clearly said there is no condition on their part," Congress leader Anand Sharma told ANI.

The clarification came after a statement from a French Ministry official highlighted that an agreement had been signed between the two countries to protect classified information.

"One is classified information one is commercial information which would also deal with parameters and price of aircraft. Rahul Gandhi never asked the French President for classified information. The French government has also said that only classified information can't be revealed," Sharma added.

During the No-Confidence Motion debate on Friday in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi claimed that during the French President's visit to India, the latter had denied the presence of a secrecy pact.

However, France retaliated saying an agreement had been inked to protect classified information in the light of security.

"We have noted the statement of Mr Rahul Gandhi before the Indian Parliament. France and India concluded in 2008 a Security agreement, which legally binds the two States to protect the classified information provided by the partner that could impact security and operational capabilities of the defence equipment of India or France. These provisions naturally apply to the IGA concluded on 23 September 2016 on the acquisition of 36 Rafale aircraft and their weapons. As the President of the

Deoband-based renowned Islamic seminary, Darul Uloom, &nbsp;has said that waxing and shaving are not considered correct for Muslims as per the &nbsp;Sharia law, media reports said.

The Darul Uloom spoke about waxing and shaving while replying to a query by a local man, identified as Abdul Aziz, who had asked if it was okay for men and women to shave or wax their arms and legs. The seminary said that waxing and shaving are not considered to be good under the Sharia law.

It added that apart from armpits, moustache and lower part of the navel, shaving and waxing other parts of the body were not good. "Removing hair through waxing or shaving from other parts of the body is khilaf-e-adab (against the culture)," the Times of India quoted the seminary as saying.

Echoing the seminary's thoughts, Deoband-based cleric Maulana Salim Ashraf Qasmi explained: "The fatwa is absolutely correct and is according to the Sharia Law. It should be noted that Darul Uloom has called the practice khilaf-e-adab and has not declared it 'haram' (forbidden)."

After the Narendra Modi-led NDA Government secured a massive victory in the No-Confidence Motion in the Lok Sabha on Friday, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor attempted to downplay the defeat by saying the result was predictable.Tharoor said, "Basic message is that the journey is more important than the destination. Failures of the BJP government were put before the nation. The outcome was predictable but the process was successful."

Senior Congress leader PL Punia said that Prime Minister Modi`s speech reflected his insecurity from Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders."The threat to the Modi government from Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders was evident through the Prime Minister`s speech that reflected his insecurity," he said.

Telegu Desam Party MP Jayadev Galla, meanwhile, criticised the Prime Minister for accusing the party of gaining political vantage. He said, "For him (PM) to say that we are doing something for political gain it is ridiculous. He is tying up with our rivals while he is still in alliance with us and trying to weaken by starving our state (Andhra Pradesh) of funds."

Terming the speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as "Dramebaazi", Congress senior leader Mallikarjun Kharge said, "We posed questions to PM Modi on Rafael deal, Nirav Modi etc but he didn't answer any. His speech was `dramebaazi.` He didn`t say anything for people of Andhra Pradesh. He was telling us what previous governments have done and not what his government has done in four years."

TDP MP K Srinivas dubbed the defeat of the Opposition a `moral victory`. He said, "It is not about majority, it is about morality. Morality won today. We wanted to showcase the failures of PM and his govt. You take unemployment, farmers distress, economic slowdown and more. He has failed in every aspect and lost the trust of people of the country."

Congress` Jyotiraditya Scindia remarked, "The Prime Minister in his two-hour speech didn`t address any of the woes of the common man. What BJP says and what it does is a difference between the reality and what they try and conjure up. That is the signal that has gone out."

The BJP which had a secured a smooth victory said this is a precursor to Congress` loss in the 2019 elections, in the words of Union Minister Smriti Irani. She said, "Defeat of Congress and opposition is a precursor to their defeat in 2019 It also gives the public at large a sense of how scattered opposition is and has given citizens a look into what kind of strategy Congress is willing to embrace that there is instability in the country."

Meanwhile, Union Minister MJ Akbar said, "PM Modi answered each and every question that was posed to him. He literally shattered the Congress."

Taking a dig at Congress President Rahul Gandhi`s unexpected hug to the Prime Minister in the Parliament, Union Minister Jitender Singh remarked, "Rahul Gandhi`s hug to PM Modi has done him more harm than good. What he did was also against the parliamentary decorum."

Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, on the other hand, said that the result in Parliament is the reflection of people`s trust in the Modi-led government. He stated, "The numbers have increased because the trust of people has also grown in the Modi Government."

Earlier in the day, the Modi-led NDA Government sailed through its first floor test in Lok Sabha by defeating the No-Confidence Motion moved by Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

The government had a comfortable majority of 325 votes in its favour, who voted against the No Confidence Motion in contrast to 126 votes by the Opposition parties out of total 451 Members of Parliament present in the Lok Sabha.

The NDA's massive victory came after an 11-hour debate, followed by a 90-minute reply by the Prime Minister, during which he listed out the achievements of his government and underlined the failures of the Congress and its allies during their previous terms.

Violence had forced the shut down of cinemas and popular spots of recreation in Kashmir, where majority of the shops and others business establishments roll their shutters down with the sunset. If you are young it easy to get bored in the valley.&nbsp;

With no places to interact, socialise and network, few youngsters in the valley have taken it up to themselves to lead the way.

Situated near the bank of Dal lake, Kamran Wani, with his cousin decided to open up a cafe where youth could network and share stories. A few years back, no such places existed in the valley but now debates on woman empowerment, feminism and patriarchy are common at this cafe.&nbsp;

&nbsp;"We have done 59 events that include seminars on feminism, sexism, patriarchy, poetry, etc and response has been amazing," says Kamran Wani.

He believes that there is potential for young people to open more cafes. "People come to the cafe to socialise more than eating food and this has forced many young entrepreneurs to come up with similar ideas," Kamran says.&nbsp;

Based on an American fantasy drama television series Game of Thrones, the story has been a success so far. "This is the first such cafe in entire India and the first theme based cafe in Kashmir valley," says Umar Imtiyaz, who is the co-owner of the cafe.&nbsp;

Similarly, inspired by the American diner aesthetic, Books N Bricks has become a famous spot for the young generation. &nbsp;Friends duo, Arsalan Sajad and Danish Zargar realised the need for space where youth can network in the absence of other activities.&nbsp;

"We don't have many places where people can sit and talk, mainly youth, where they can discuss ideas. Now, these cafes are becoming the hub of such activities," Arsalan says.&nbsp;
