English commentator and former player Jamie Carragher lashed out at the Manchester United star players for talking on the pitch following their heavy drubbing at the hands of Crystal Palace in their Premier League encounter on Monday (May 6). In their away encounter, United were left shellshocked as they lost 4-0 to Palace as the ongoing PL season continues to be a sorry affair for them.

Post the match, United star players -- namely&nbsp;Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Antony -- were seen talking and whispering on the pitch which wasn't well received by former Liverpool player-turned-commentator Carragher. The veteran schooled the United players for their 'embarrassing' act.&nbsp;

Talking on Sky Sports, Carragher said, "Just get off the pitch! Talking, whispering behind your hand - you've been absolutely awful. You're probably talking about one of the players or somebody else or the setup or the manager. Just get off the pitch, shut up and get in. You've been beaten 4-0... whispering, talking about other players. Honestly, embarrassing."

<h2>'No United team should be getting beat 4-0 by Palace'</h2>

Carragher further opined, "Your performance level will drop when you lose your best players. Ten Hag needs performances. He needs belief. You've got to make us believe there's something here. I struggled to see how United would win tonight. No United team should be getting beat 4-0 by Palace. Man United's U23 team, I'd still expect them not to lose 4-0."

He added, "I've never been a coach or a manager, but I've been a player and some of the things I see are just wrong."

Meanwhile, Man United manager Erik Ten Hag stated that his team needs to move past this loss and focus on their remaining games to finish on a high. He said, "We have to put it right on Sunday. We have to learn from this game and improve. I was really grateful [to the fans]. They back us. They see also we have our problems. You have to stick together. You have to take responsibility. The fans gave us such huge and tremendous support."

The eighth-placed United are left with two more PL home games -- versus Arsenal and Newcastle United -- before travelling to Brighton and Hove Albion on the final day. They also face Manchester City in the FA Cup final later this month, on May 25.

West Ham manager David Moyes will leave "by mutual consent" when his contract expires at the end of the season, the Premier League club said Monday (May 6). The announcement of Moyes's impending exit came just a day after the Hammers suffered an embarrassing 5-0 loss to London rivals Chelsea.

"West Ham United can confirm David Moyes will leave the club by mutual consent at the end of the 2023/24 season, when his contract expires," said a club statement. Monday's announcement came amid media speculation that former Real Madrid, Wolves and Spain manager Julen Loptegui had agreed a deal to replace Moyes, in his second spell as West Ham manager, after the end of the current campaign. Moyes said: "I have enjoyed four-and-a-half brilliant years at West Ham, and the club is in a stronger position than when I returned back in 2019." "When I joined West Ham for a second time, the club was one place above the relegation zone, and it has been a terrific journey to have achieved three consecutive seasons in Europe." "I would like to thank all the players for their support, and all the success they have achieved, over the last four-and-a-half years." West Ham joint-chairman David Sullivan told the club's website: "On behalf of everyone at West Ham United, I would like to offer our sincere thanks and gratitude to David for the contribution he has made to the football club during his time as manager." "David has been responsible for a period of great progress and success in our history, and we are extremely grateful for all of his hard work, commitment and dedication to the role."

Manchester United's woes continued as they were thrashed 4-0 by Crystal Palace in their Premier League encounter on Monday (May 6). The loss has put more pressure on Erik Ten Hag to continue as the team manager for the next season. While there has been heavy criticism, the Dutchman stated that he 'will keep fighting' and 'find the energy' to prepare the team for the next game with nine points to play for&nbsp;this season.

Following their big defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace, United are in the eighth spot with three league games in hand, at the brink of attaining&nbsp;several unwanted records.

The Red Devils currently have a club-record number of losses (13) in a Premier League season. Notably, they have already faced their most shots (618) in a single campaign. Thus, if they let in three more goals in&nbsp;this term, it will set a new mark for their most conceded in a season.

After the loss, Ten Hag told SkySports, "I will keep fighting, I have prepared the team in the best way I can. It (the performance) was not good enough and I have to take the responsibility for that."

"But I will find the energy and prepare them for the next game. We have nine points to play for and we have to fight for those," he stated.

United had a tough time against Palace&nbsp;from the word go. Heading into the game with injury issues, the former champions were forced to play midfielder Casemiro at centre-back. This led to him being exposed on a number of occasions as Palace’s mobile front three pulled their visitors apart.

However, Ten Hag refused to put the blame on Casemiro and said, "You can’t put it on one player, it is a team performance. We did not adapt to the different situations. It’s clear, we didn’t act how we want to, it’s not good enough."

He added, "There are always reasons, everyone could see our backline today, where we had huge problems. But at the end of the day, we have to deal with these issues and we should have done better."

United will now turn to&nbsp;home comforts as they will host league leaders Arsenal on Sunday (May 12).

Nottingham Forest have failed in their appeal against a four-point penalty for breaching Premier League financial rules, the English top flight announced on Tuesday.

The club were hit with the sanction by an independent commission in March for breaching the profitability and sustainability rules (PSR) threshold of £61 million ($76 million) by £34.5 million.

Forest quickly indicated their intention to appeal but an independent appeal board panel has upheld the original penalty, which relates to a three-year assessment period ending with the 2022/23 season.

It means the 17th-placed club remain on 29 points, three points above the relegation zone, with two games left to play.

Forest had sought a reduction in the punishment because they felt the original commission should have taken the big-money sale of Brennan Johnson to Tottenham, two months after the end of the financial year ending 2023, into account as a mitigating factor.

They also felt the original commission had made a mistake by not wholly or partially suspending the sanction.

A release published on the Premier League website read: "The club argued that the independent commission committed an error in not treating its sale of a high-profile player shortly after the assessment period as a mitigating factor, and that it committed a further error in electing not to suspend some or all of the points deduction it imposed."

"Each of these grounds was rejected by the appeal board, which found the independent commission was entitled to immediately impose the sanction it did."

"The four-point deduction will therefore remain in place."

In November, Everton were docked 10 points for breaching PSR, reduced to six on appeal, while a separate two-point deduction imposed on the club for a separate breach is under appeal.

The Goodison Park club are now clear of relegation danger following a run of good results.

Premier League clubs are usually allowed maximum losses of £105 million over a three-year assessment period but this is reduced by £22 million per season for any seasons within the period spent in the Championship.

Forest, two time European champions, were promoted to the Premier League in May 2022, meaning two seasons of their three-year assessment period were as a second-tier club.

Premier League: Nottingham Forest lose appeal against points penalty

Michael Olise scored a brace of goals as Crystal Palace completed a league double over Manchester&nbsp;United&nbsp;for the first time in their history with a thumping 4-0 victory at Selhurst Park on Monday that will add to the pressure on Erik ten Hag. A makeshift&nbsp;United&nbsp;defence that included Casemiro at centre-back was easily picked apart by Palace on several occasions as Jean-Philippe Mateta and Tyrick Mitchell were also on the scoresheet in the impressive win.

United&nbsp;remain in eighth place with 54 points from 35 games, two points behind Newcastle&nbsp;United&nbsp;in sixth, with their hopes of European football next season fading fast. Palace are still in 14th with 43 points from 36 matches.

United&nbsp;had several injury absentees and were without Bruno Fernandes, the first time in his 230-game Old Trafford career he has missed a match with injury, but the ease with which they were beaten will be a huge concern for everyone at the club.

"A big disappointment. We just had an off-day and we weren't in it," midfielder Christian Eriksen told BBC. "It is what it is. We can't really change the injury things. We have to do what we can on the pitch to change it. "Today it didn't matter who we played. Everyone could have done better. We tried to do what we could but we were not good enough. We'll take the blame as players."

It is the first time in the Premier League era&nbsp;United&nbsp;have lost 13 games in a season and the scoreline might have been worse.

The home side took the lead inside 12 minutes as Olise collected a throw and evaded a limp challenge from Casemiro. With no&nbsp;United&nbsp;player attempting to close him down, he was able to unleash a low shot from just inside the box.

It was 2-0 five minutes before the break as Mateta breezed past&nbsp;United&nbsp;defender Jonny Evans and thrashed the ball into the net for a ninth goal in 11 games since the arrival of Glasner in February.

The striker had scored 11 goals in his previous 80 games for Palace before that. United’s makeshift defence was struggling to contain the movement of their hosts and when Diogo Dalot failed to deal with a ball to the back post, Mitchell had a tap-in.

Olise’s second goal added more salt to the wound and it could have been worse for the visitors as Odsonne Edouard saw his shot come back off the woodwork late on. "I think we could have got a few more. That shows the potential we have to play against any team in the league," Palace defender Chris Richards said.

Former Liverpool player-turned-pundit, Jamie Carragher, has given a scathing assessment of Casemiro's struggles at Manchester United since his big-money move from Real Madrid. The midfielder was deployed in a makeshift backline by manager Erik ten Hag during the 0-4 defeat to&nbsp;Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday (May 6)&nbsp;and also sported the captain's armband due to the absence of Bruno Fernandes.&nbsp;

The multiple times Champions League winner had a torrid time in the field as he was directly responsible for two of Palace's four goals.&nbsp;

"I said at half-time that he had to bring Casemiro off. I know he’s got kids on the bench but I think Casemiro, I am being deadly serious, should know himself tonight as an experienced player, that he should only have another three games at the top level, the next two league games and the cup final, and thinking I need to go the MLS or Saudi," said Carragher on Sky Sports.&nbsp;

Carragher added that the Brazilian needed to leave football at the highest level before his legacy was ruined.&nbsp;

"I am nowhere near the level of what that man achieved, but I always remember something when I retired. It was a saying I always remember as a footballer. Leave the football before the football leaves you. The football has left him at the top level. He needs to call it a day at this level of football and move."

<h2>Ten Hag defends Casemiro</h2>

Despite the criticism coming Casemiro's way, Ten Hag refused to put the blame on the midfielder, saying the team failed as a whole.&nbsp;

"You can’t put it on one player, it is a team performance. We did not adapt to the different situations. It’s clear, we didn’t act how we want to, it’s not good enough."

"There are always reasons, everyone could see our backline today, where we had huge problems. But at the end of the day, we have to deal with these issues and we should have done better," he added.&nbsp;

While Casemiro's dwindling form with age is to blame for the poor performances, he hasn't been aided by Ten Hag's tactical structure going into the matches. Often, United frontline press is disjointed from the midfield and defence, leading to longer gaps in the middle which every opposition has seemingly exploited this season.&nbsp;

On most instances, Ten Hag has been bailed out by individual brilliance from the likes of Fernandes or Marcus Rashford but the technical deficiencies in his tactics are being found out by good teams.&nbsp;

Former Liverpool star tells Man United's Casemiro to leave for MLS or Saudi

Liverpool responded to Jurgen Klopp's call to end his stay on a high as a 4-2 victory over Tottenham further dented Spurs' hopes of a top-four finish on Sunday (May 5).

Liverpool responded to Jurgen Klopp's call to end his stay on a high as a 4-2 victory over Tottenham further dented Spurs' hopes of a top-four finish on Sunday (May 5). Mohamed Salah was restored to the Reds' starting line-up after his public spat with Klopp last weekend and opened the floodgates. Andy Robertson, Cody Gakpo and Harvey Elliott were also on target as Liverpool kept their Premier League title hopes mathematically alive. Richarlison and Son Heung-min replied late on for Tottenham, but the damage to their chances of Champions League football next season was already done. Klopp's men are guaranteed to finish no lower than third and closed the gap on leaders Arsenal to five points with two games remaining. Spurs have now lost four consecutive games to leave Ange Postecoglou's men still seven points adrift of fourth-placed Aston Villa with just nine left to play for. Tottenham realistically need to win all of their three remaining games, including at home to title-chasing Manchester City, to have any hope of reeling in Villa. But on this form they may even struggle to see off Burnley and Sheffield United as Spurs have collapsed after a highly promising start to Postecoglou's reign. The Australian admitted after a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea on Thursday (May 2) that his message was not getting through to his players and there was no reaction from the visitors until it was too late.` Salah had a war of words with Klopp on the touchline as he prepared to enter as a second-half substitute in a 2-2 draw at West Ham last weekend that sounded the death knell for Liverpool's title ambitions. They had won just two of their last seven games in all competitions, including just one in their previous five in the league. Salah's drop off in form since being injured at the Africa Cup of Nations has been a major factor. But he scored his first goal from open play in nine games to inspire a Liverpool display far more in keeping with the quality showing that had got them into the title race in the first place. Gakpo's cross to the back post picked out Salah completely unmarked and Guglielmo Vicario's weak hand failed to keep out his header on 16 minutes. Also read | Feyenoord's Arne Slot confirmed to replace Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool's next manager Klopp's last dance Klopp will take charge at Anfield just one more time when Wolves visit on the final day of the season. The Liverpool support were keen to savour the occasion as Klopp's name reverberated around the stadium and his players responded by finding their form after a difficult few weeks. Robertson got the second goal Liverpool's dominance deserved before the break when he tapped in the rebound after Salah's initial effort was parried by Vicario. Tottenham were just as poor at the start of the second period to take their tally of goals conceded in the last four games to 13. Gakpo's precise header from Elliott's cross found the bottom corner on 50 minutes. Elliott then scored the goal of the game when he blasted into the top corner from outside the box. Postecoglou introduced Richarlison and James Maddison as part of a triple change on the hour mark and the visitors were transformed in the final stages. Richarlison swept home Brennan Johnson's cross and then teed up Son to score for the fifth consecutive game against Liverpool. Alisson Becker needed to produce a vital stop from Richarlison to prevent a grandstand finish in seven minutes of added time. Liverpool's defensive lapses showed why they still need a miracle collapse by Arsenal and Manchester City in the final fortnight of the season to have any chance of ending Klopp's nine-year stay as Premier League champions. But Tottenham's response was too little, too late to help their ambitions of joining the Reds in the Champions League next season.

Former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has confirmed that he will not be taking the soon-to-be-vacated manager seat at Bayern Munich, quashing the rumours linking him to the high-profile job.

Former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has confirmed that he will not be taking the soon-to-be-vacated manager seat at Bayern Munich, quashing the rumours linking him to the high-profile job. Zidane cleared the air while attending the Miami Grand Prix on Sunday (May 5) where McLaren's Lando Norris won his first Formula 1 race. Speaking to SkyDE, Zidane was quizzed about who will win between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich during the second leg of the Champions League semifinal. "Who will win between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich this weekend? Hopefully Madrid. But it's going to be a difficult game," said Zidane. Pressed further if he would be sitting in the HBayern dugout, come the summer, Zidane gave a straight response. "No, it will not happen. I'm going to watch the game, I will cheer for Real Madrid and hopefully Real Madrid will win. It will be a difficult game," he added. Zidane to return to manager duties? Notably, Zidane was appointed the ambassador of the Alpine F1 team, earlier this year. At the time of the announcement, the legendary Frenchman said he could be back in a managerial capacity, as early as June. "It's part of our deal. If I have to commit tomorrow, that won't prevent me from continuing to work with the team," said Zidane. "Resuming remains my desire. Today, I have time and I don't know how long it will last. I have time now, maybe until June, but it can also go very quickly." Zidane, during his relatively short spell as Real Madrid's manager (2016-18, 2019-20) won every silverware there was to win. I want to continue. I still have this flame. It's my passion, football. I'm (almost) 50 years old, fulfilled, I'm happy, that's the most important thing." In February, the record Bundesliga champions announced they had decided to end their collaboration with Thomas Tuchel at the end of the ongoing season despite his contract running till 2025. Tuchel, the former Chelsea manager, took over the reins in March last year from Nagelsmann who was sacked rather unceremoniously by the former Bayern board. (With inputs from agencies)

Bruno Fernandes is happy at Manchester United and will remain at the Premier League club next season, manager Erik Ten Hag said amid speculation over the midfielder's future. In an interview with DAZN last week, Fernandes said he would consider his future at United after this year's European Championship and that he would only stay in Manchester if both he and the club want him to.

Asked about Fernandes' comments, Ten Hag told reporters: "That was taken out of context. I know he is Manchester United and I think he is very happy to be here." The Dutch manager said he "definitely" expects Fernandes to see out his contract, which runs until 2026, and highlighted the importance of the Portuguese international as a role model for other players in the team.

"Taking responsibility is one of the biggest assets top footballers have nowadays to show and to deliver," Ten Hag added. "Bruno is a very good example for many other players. He is a real fighter. Last year when we played Brighton in the (FA Cup) semi-final, he played with an ankle that was so thick. It was unbelievable."

Darwin Nunez has left fans perplexed after he deleted all Liverpool-related content on his Instagram account, following an impressive victory by the Reds over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday (May 5).&nbsp;

Liverpool returned to winning ways in the Premier League, having gone on a hara-kiri spree in recent weeks that saw them lose ground in the title race. However, the team, freshened up after a relatively long break, played Spurs out of the park and managed to grab a 4-2 win in front of a packed Anfield crowd.&nbsp;

The only blemish remained Nunez's after-match deleting spree on Instagram where all photos and videos related to the club no longer appear. The only reference to the club remains on his profile bio, in which Nunez has tagged both Liverpool FC and the Uruguay national team. His display picture still has him in a Liverpool kit.&nbsp;

<h2>Criticism gets to Nunez?</h2>

Fans have speculated that the heavy criticism levelled by certain sections of the online fanbase against Nunez had finally got to him.&nbsp;

"Online abuse or direct criticism is not acceptable, no matter what," said one user, while another commented:&nbsp;"Back your players, even on a rough patch. Even on a human level, we all struggle mentally and need support. You’ll Never Walk Alone, Darwin Nunez."

The forward is coming to the end of his second year on the Merseyside and despite&nbsp;18 goals and 13 assists in 53 games, the no. 9 is yet to completely win over the fans.

While the Uruguayan has shown marked improvement from his first season on the Merseyside, his consistency has still left a lot to be desired. Nunez leads the chart in the most number of big chances missed in the league, which also shows that he is a chance magnet -&nbsp;continuously generating scoring opportunities for himself and the team.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe said Sunday that his team will come back from their 1-0 defeat in the Champions League semi-final first leg to Borussia Dortmund and qualify for the final.

"We're confident that we'll come back from that score and reach the final," Mbappe said to reporters in Paris during an event with 2,000 children organised by his "Inspired by KM" association.

PSG will host Dortmund in the tie's second leg on Tuesday, with Niclas Fuellkrug's goal in Germany last week meaning Mbappe and his team need to win in order to have a chance of reaching the final at Wembley on June 1.

"There's a lot of pressure, which is normal because there's a place in the Champions League final at stake, which is very important. Especially when you consider the club's record in the competition," said 25-year-old Mbappe.

"We're confident that we'll come back from that score and reach the final," Mbappe said to reporters in Paris during an event with 2,000 children organised by his "Inspired by KM" association. The war of words between Roy Keane and Erling Haaland ceases to end. The former Manchester United player-turned-pundit has slammed the Norwegian for his reaction to the substitution made by manager Pep Guardiola against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend.&nbsp;

After a relatively lean patch, Haaland bagged four goals against Wolves but looked furious when he was put on the bench by the manager. Keane picked up on the matter and said Haaland was acting like a "spoiled brat".

"I think we saw Haaland yesterday brought off not too happy, behaving like a spoiled brat. I think when you have the spat as well with the manager and obviously your Star Man, it doesn't help that results aren't going your way," said Keane.&nbsp;

"But because they win the game, he scores goals it's almost forgotten about," he added.&nbsp;

Quizzed&nbsp;if Haaland's animated reaction to being subbed off was justified, Keane said: "No, no. No it's not."

Keane's statement is expected to increase the bitterness between him and Haaland as the two have been going at each other.&nbsp;

‘Behaving like a spoiled brat’: Roy Keane hits back after Haaland’s ‘don’t care about that man’ comment

Liverpool's outgoing manager Jurgen Klopp said that the Liverpool 2.0 project will keep going after his departure at the end of the ongoing Premier League (PL) season. Liverpool are currently third on the Premier League points table and are vying for the title in a close race with table toppers Arsenal and second-placed Manchester City.

"Of course, it's not perfect as if it was we'd have five or six points more and would still be fighting for the league," Klopp told Sky Sports in an interview published on Sunday (May 5).

"But if you rewind to the start of the season, I called it Liverpool 2.0... Liverpool 2.0 doesn't stop after I leave. It's just the start of another project with a really good squad."

It is, however, hard for Liverpool to win this season unless Arsenal and Man City have 'a crisis' as suggested by Klopp after their 2-2 draw at West Ham last week.

He also reflected on his decision to quit as the club's manager after nine years and said that he felt he couldn't keep going at 100% for another season.

"I was sure that if I didn't make that decision now, next year it could have been tricky. The thought of picking yourself up for another preseason, make big decisions," Klopp said.

"For that, you really need to be full of energy -- 80% is not enough. That's the truth. It's too much. It's a 24/7 job. Yes, there are more important things in life, but if you really care then it's 24/7.

"I did it for a pretty long time and I knew I couldn't continue to do it at the standard necessary for a club like Liverpool," he added.

The German is expected to be replaced by Dutchman Arne Slot who currently manages Feyenoord in the Dutch professional football league.

<h2>Arsenal gifted penalty by referee</h2>

In the 42nd minute of the match at the Emirates Stadium in London, referee David Coote decided to give a penalty for a foul on Arsenal attacker Kai Havertz. While the naked eyes showed that there was a touch by goalkeeper Mark Travers on Havertz, upon replay it was spotted that the touch was engineered by the attacker on the goalkeeper. However, the benefit of the doubt was given in the home side’s favour and the penalty stood despite VAR being used in the process.&nbsp;

The resulting penalty was converted by Saka which saw the Gunners take a 1-0 lead at the break. The lead now sees Arsenal go on 83 points in the Premier League standings with two matches to go. On the other hand, Man City are on 79 points from 34 matches and can narrow the gap to one point by the end of the night when they face Wolves later on Sunday.&nbsp;

Liverpool technically still have a chance of winning the Premier League title but for that to happen, both Arsenal and Man City need to lose their all remaining matches. Arsenal's remaining two matches see them travel to Manchester United at Old Trafford on the penultimate day before facing Everton on the final day of the season.&nbsp;

The incident which did not go well with the away fans was widely condemned on the internet, but Bukayo Saka stepped up to score as the Gunners had a halftime lead of 1-0. At the time of writing, the lead also sees Arsenal open up a four-point gap at the top of the Premier League standings with Manchester City having two matches in hand. 🚨🚨| PENALTY TO ARSENAL!!pic.twitter.com/zI53R0CDkb — CentreGoals. (@centregoals) May 4, 2024 × Arsenal gifted penalty by referee In the 42nd minute of the match at the Emirates Stadium in London, referee David Coote decided to give a penalty for a foul on Arsenal attacker Kai Havertz. While the naked eyes showed that there was a touch by goalkeeper Mark Travers on Havertz, upon replay it was spotted that the touch was engineered by the attacker on the goalkeeper. However, the benefit of the doubt was given in the home side’s favour and the penalty stood despite VAR being used in the process. The resulting penalty was converted by Saka which saw the Gunners take a 1-0 lead at the break. The lead now sees Arsenal go on 83 points in the Premier League standings with two matches to go. On the other hand, Man City are on 79 points from 34 matches and can narrow the gap to one point by the end of the night when they face Wolves later on Sunday. Celebrating of the culmination of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24 season, anticipation is peaking as rivals Mohun Bagan Super Giant and Mumbai City FC lock horns to become the ISL Cup Winners at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on May 4, Saturday, at 7:30 pm IST. Kolkata will be hosting its first-ever ISL final tomorrow and amid an electrifying excitement in the City of Joy, coaches and players from the two finalists assembled for a pre-match press conference summarising their thoughts ahead of the summit clash of the 10th season of the ISL.

On April 15, a similar match had ensued between them at this very stadium, where the Mariners edged past the Islanders by 2-1 to dethrone Mumbai City FC and get crowned the ISL Champions. Back in 2020-21, the Mariners were defeated by Mumbai City FC by 2-1 in the ISL final, and Antonio Lópes Habas was at the receiving end of that result. Whilst avenging such outcomes are common talks in football, Habas’ thought process transcends that currently.

<h2>There are no favourites for the final</h2>

“There is no question of revenge for me. It’s one more game of football. We are playing against a very good opponent. I am very happy and excited for the final and we have to compete well to win the trophy. We have played finals in different places. But this is special, to play a final at our home in front of our own supporters,” Habas said during the press meet.

<h2>Mumbai City FC have learnt from the previous loss</h2>

The Mariners had almost swept aside Mumbai City FC in their title-deciding clash that drew curtains on the league stages of ISL 2023-24 in April. Their 2-1 win was as convincing as it could come, pushing an impeccable looking Islanders’ unit off balance with their fierce pace and assertion over their own style of play. Mumbai City FC head coach Petr Kratky has certainly taken some learning from that defeat, and is keen to correct them on Saturday.

“We have learnt from the previous game. We will try to start the game a little bit differently. We will play our football from the first minute. We will try to compete, and win the game. We have learnt from our first defeat and we have come here to compete, fight, and get the win,” he said today.

Outgoing Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has taken potshots at the broadcasters, FIFA and other footballing stakeholders in a recent 'bombshell' media address. Quizzed if he would consider a role in football administration post his Liverpool departure, possibly&nbsp;as the FIFA president, Klopp said he wouldn't survive in the 'sea&nbsp;of sharks'.&nbsp;

Klopp was addressing the media ahead of his side's high-octane Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Sunday (May 5). The German manager was at his most animated self and expressed concerns about how the game was being run.&nbsp;

“I got an award yesterday from the PFA, I don’t know exactly for what, but I think for speaking up for players. I never thought about it but they will need people in a normal age knowing the business," said Klopp.&nbsp;

"But imagine me becoming FIFA president? It is obviously a well-paid job – that is why they all want to do it; not the official part obviously, but you can make a living from it. I don’t think I will spend my lifetime on these kind of things. Alone you can’t change anything. I probably wouldn’t survive in that sea of sharks," he added.&nbsp;

<h2>Klopp lashes out at TNT Sports</h2>

Earlier, Klopp had come down heavy on TNT Sports and accused the English broadcaster of contributing to the failure of Premier League clubs in Europe this season. Klopp said the fixture congestion due to the broadcaster's greed was the primary reason for the big English&nbsp;teams crashing out of the European competitions.&nbsp;

“I had a discussion the other day with colleagues from my favourite TV channel which I will definitely never watch again, TNT. They always say: ‘They pay you. They give money for football.’ It’s the other way around. Football pays them," said a seething Klopp.&nbsp;

Klopp also questioned the astronomical number of 12:30 pm kickoffs that Liverpool had been allotted in the past couple of seasons. The host broadcasters have a say in which team is given the afternoon slot and since Liverpool brings more eyeballs, the likes of TNT Sports routinely push Liverpool to the said slot. However, it means short turnaround time for the team which contributes to injuries and sluggish performances.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;

English Premier League giants Manchester United&nbsp;are likely to&nbsp;part ways with Jadon Sancho in the coming summer as they look to bounce back from a disappointing 2023-24 campaign.&nbsp;Sancho, who is currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund&nbsp;from Manchester&nbsp;United&nbsp;has been in spectacular form&nbsp;helping&nbsp;his side reach the Champions League semifinal while keeping them on the brink of a final in&nbsp;London’s&nbsp;Wembley Stadium.&nbsp;While no club has revealed&nbsp;firm&nbsp;interest in Sancho, Dortmund&nbsp;remain&nbsp;the favourite to sign him during the close season.&nbsp;

<h2>Sancho to leave Man Utd?</h2>

Speaking on&nbsp;Sancho’s&nbsp;situation, current United boss Erik ten Hag has praised the player and feels happy for him. Interestingly, it was the frictional relationship between Sancho and Ten Hag that forced the&nbsp;former’s&nbsp;exit from the club in the January transfer window.
