<h2><strong>The accused toured Delhi three times before burglary</strong></h2>

<p>According to the police, Srivas stayed at the Rajdhani Guest House at Chandni Chowk. In addition to performing a reconnaissance on September 21, Srivas had previously made two trips to the city for the same reason, police said.</p>

<p>He arrived in Jangpura on September 9 and remained there till September 12, when he departed for Mathura-Vrindavan. On September 15, he left for Delhi again, where he remained until September 17. From Kashmere Gate, he then boarded a bus bound for the central state of Madhya Pradesh.</p>

<p>He made his last trip to Delhi on September 21 and at 9.20pm, he left for Jangpura to conduct another reconnaissance.</p>

<p>A screwdriver and a plier were among the two tools Srivas allegedly took to Delhi on September 21 and used to commit the robbery at Umrao Singh Jewellers, according to the police. Aside from these, he also spent $16 (Rs 1,300) for a disc cutter from GB Road and a hammer from Chandni Chowk.</p>

<p>Delhi Police have also discovered CCTV footage from the store, in which Srivas is seen covering his face with a white towel and unplugging the CCTV equipment.</p>

<h2><strong>How police reached the accused&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>As part of a joint operation between the Delhi Police and the state's police, Srivas was taken into custody from Kabirdham district in the eastern state of Chhattisgarh on Friday (Sep 29) morning.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In Chhattisgarh, he already has multiple cases registered against him. The arrest happened when Chhattisgarh Police informed the south-east district police that they had apprehended a man named Lokesh Rao who admitted to assistant sub-inspector Shamit Tiwari that one of his colleagues "had committed a big crime in Delhi" after being apprehended.</p>

<p>The Chhattisgarh Police then provided a photo of Srivas that matched the suspect's body type and appearance from the CCTV examined by Delhi police that showed him entering the shop on September 24.</p>

<p>For the heist&nbsp;on&nbsp; September 24, the&nbsp;accused entered the shop through the terrace and escaped with ornaments worth $3 million (Rs 20-25 crore).&nbsp;</p>

<p>This is one of the biggest robberies in Delhi since 2015. Back then, a cash van driver fled with almost Rs 22.5 crore in cash from the Govindpuri neighbourhood in southeast Delhi.</p>

This major move is part of the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) for School Education in sync with National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which was announced on Wednesday (Aug 23) by India's Minister of &nbsp;Education Dharmendra Pradhan.</p>

<p>According to the NCF, all students will be allowed to appear in the board exams twice a year so that they can perform well. The students&nbsp;can sit for the exam of the subjects they feel they have prepared well. The ministry also assured that students can retain their best marks.</p>

<p>The education ministry said, "Board exams will be offered at least twice a year to ensure students have enough time and opportunity to perform well. Students can then appear for a board exam in subjects they have completed and feel ready for. They will also be allowed to retain the best score."</p>

<p>The&nbsp;NFC said that to make board exams “easier” from the current "high stakes,"&nbsp;the exam will assess the understanding and achievement of competencies rather than months of coaching and memorisation.</p>

<p>It added that Board exam developers and evaluators will also have to go through university-certified courses before taking up the job.</p>

<p>With this, the NCF aims to offer "on demand"&nbsp;exams very soon to align with the curriculum of NEP.</p>

<p>It is believed that the ministry will put an end to the practice of covering textbooks and will optimise it.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Until now students from class 9 to 12 studied five mandatory subjects with one optional subject but, now according to the new education framework, the number of mandatory subjects for the students of class 9 and 10 is seven and for students of 11 and&nbsp;12 is six.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The North African country, which is saddled with a crippling public wage bill from a civil service that employs 680,000 of its 12 million citizens, is struggling with debt of around 80 per cent of GDP and seeking foreign aid.</p>

<p>Tunisia in October reached a tentative deal for a $1.9 billion bailout from the International Monetary Fund that would require Tunis to undertake a "comprehensive economic reform programme" that would phase out subsidies on fuel and electricity.</p>

<p>The IMF has also called for legislation to restructure more than 100 state-owned firms, which hold monopolies over many parts of the economy and in many cases are heavily indebted.</p>

<p>But hopes of securing the IMF bailout appear slim as President Kais Saied has repeatedly rejected "foreign diktats that will lead to more poverty".</p>

<p>Bouden was appointed by Saied on October 11, 2021, two and a half months after the president granted himself sweeping powers on July 25 by dismissing his then-prime minister and suspending parliament. Since his power grab, Saied has ruled by decree.</p>

<p>The constitution, which he had amended by referendum in the summer of 2022, greatly reduced the powers of parliament and granted the president's office unlimited powers.</p>

<p>A new assembly took office in the spring of 2023 following legislative elections at the end of 2022, which were boycotted by the opposition parties and shunned by voters with a turnout rate of around 10 per cent.</p>

<p>With a small handful of visitors inspecting the exhibits on a quiet weekday morning, the canalside museum in a&nbsp;Dutch&nbsp;university town doesn't exactly look like a battlefield.</p>

<p>There are walls of album covers showing the influence of ancient Egypt by artists including Tina Turner, Earth Wind and Fire and Miles Davis, and a special interactive video installation.</p>

<p>One visitor said the reaction to the "informative" exhibition was overblown.</p>

<p>"This doesn't make any sense to me and they're just sort of being too sensitive or trying to score political points maybe... Nothing to me was shocking," said Daniel Voshart, 37, a filmmaker and artist from Canada.</p>

<p>"There were music videos that were already made and it's not like the&nbsp;Dutch&nbsp;government paid Beyonce to become you know, Egyptian."</p>

<p>Museum director Wim Weijland was quoted by the&nbsp;Dutch&nbsp;newspaper NRC as saying that Egypt's reaction was "unseemly".</p>

<p>The museum declined to comment on the dispute when contacted by AFP, instead pointing to a special section on its website.</p>

<p>The museum said there had been a "commotion about this exhibition, because it shows Egyptian culture through the eyes of artists with African roots."</p>

<p>The exhibition had two aims, it added -- to "show and understand the depiction of ancient Egypt and the messages in music by black artists" and to "show what scientific, Egyptological research can tell us about ancient Egypt and Nubia."</p>

<p>The curator of the exhibition, Daniel Soliman, is himself half Egyptian and a huge music fan, sources at the museum said.</p>

<h2>'Complicated' relationship&nbsp;</h2>

<p>The&nbsp;Dutch&nbsp;exhibition, which opened in late April and runs until September, appeared to walk into a already-brewing row in Egypt over a Netflix docudrama about Cleopatra.</p>

<p>Egyptian pundits and officials were up in arms in April after Netflix streamed a production depicting the ancient queen as black, and insisted she had lighter skin.</p>

<p>The Rijksmuseum's musical showcase was subsequently hit by similar criticisms of rewriting history.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Egyptian authorities then banned the museum's archaeologists from the necropolis at Saqqara, south of Cairo, NRC said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Staff at the museum were shocked as they have been active for nearly five decades at the vast burial site, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and are currently leading an excavation there.</p>

<p>Hamdan added that "your average Egyptian would describe themselves as Arab first maybe Egyptian second", while their relationship with Africa was "complicated".&nbsp;</p>
