The Pakistani attack was in response to a similar strike on Tuesday (Jan 16) by Iran on the restive Pakistani province of Balochistan. The Iranian strike killed two children, according to Pakistan's account. Iran said it was targeting Pakistani terrorist group Jaish-al Adl which translates to legions of justice. The Sunni group seeks an independent state of Balochistan and operates in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran. <p>The Iranian drone Shahed 136, according to an AFP news agency graphic, is a long-range suicide drone for hitting fixed targets. Developed by Iran's HESA in 2021, it has the capability to carry 36kg of explosives as warhead. Shahed 136 has a range of 2,500 kilometres and a maximum speed of 135 km per hour. The drone weighs 200 kg and has a length of 3.5 metres and a wingspan of 2.5 metres.&nbsp;</p>

Chinese firm knocked off Iran drone, sold it on Alibaba site: Report

<p>The passenger who was stuck in the toilet of a SpiceJet plane during the journey from the western Indian city of Mumbai to the southern Indian city of Bengaluru had recorded part of his ordeal in a video that has now gone viral.</p>

<p>SpiceJet crew could not open the toilet door and had slipped in a chit to the male passenger that said, 'sir, do not panic'. The embarrassed Indian carrier later issued a statement and the passenger will reportedly be fully refunded.</p>

<p>The man was flying from Mumbai to Bengaluru.&nbsp;During the journey, he went to relieve himself and got stuck in the toilet as the door wouldn't open.</p>

The incident happened on flight SG-268, which took off from Mumbai airport at 2 am on Tuesday (Jan 16), after an hours-long delay. It was supposed to have taken off at 10.55 pm on Monday (Jan 15).</p>

<p>"It was known that the passenger on 14D seat had gone to the toilet soon after the takeoff and the seatbelt signs went off. Sadly, he got trapped inside as the toilet door malfunctioned," media reports quoted a ground staffer in Bengaluru Kempegowda International Airport as saying.</p>

<p>The cabin crew tried to open the toilet door but could not.</p>

<p>An air hostess reportedly wrote a note and slipped it under the crack of the toilet door.</p>

<p>It read, "Sir, we tried our best to open the door, however, we could not. Do not panic. We are landing in a few minutes, so please close the commode lid and sit on it and secure yourself. As soon as the main door is open, an engineer will come."</p>

<p>An airport official in Bengaluru reportedly said, "The poor man flew from Mumbai to Bengaluru inside the toilet and, shockingly, landed trapped inside the tiny lavatory."&nbsp;</p>

<p>The plane landed at KIA at 3:42 am on Tuesday (Jan 16).</p>

After that, the man was given first aid, a media outlet said quoting an officer. "The passenger was totally traumatised due to claustrophobia."&nbsp;</p>

<p>SpiceJet later issued a statement, "On January 16, a passenger unfortunately got stuck inside the lavatory for about an hour on SpiceJet flight operating from Mumbai to Bengaluru, while the aircraft was airborne due to a malfunction in the door lock. Throughout the journey, our crew provided assistance and guidance to the passenger."&nbsp;</p>

<p>SpiceJet also reportedly gave a full refund to the hapless passenger.</p>

<p>Masimo claimed in its release that the company had&nbsp;earlier made available a study showing that Apple Watch’s pulse oximetry missed over 90 per cent&nbsp;of potentially life-threatening events.</p>

<p>"The Apple Watch pulse oximeter was not cleared by the United States Food and Drug Administration for medical use," Masimo claimed in the release&nbsp;while adding that&nbsp;the Masimo W1 health watch "was recently cleared by the FDA for its indicated medical uses, including continuous pulse oximetry".</p>

<p>A new study has highlighted the deadly effects of extreme heat on the heart and suggests that the impact of climate change may lead to a surge in heat-related cardiovascular deaths in the US over the coming decades. Vulnerable groups, including Black adults, seniors, and urban residents, are at a higher risk.</p>

<p>The Federal Emergency Management Agency defines extreme heat days as "a period of two to three days of high humidity and temperatures above 90 degrees". Such days are increasing every year now.</p>

<p>Between 2008 and 2019, the heat index, which accounts for both temperature and humidity, reached at least 90 degrees on an average of 54 days each summer in the US.<br />

During these scorching days, nearly 1,700 excess cardiovascular deaths were recorded annually, according to a study published in the journal <em>Circulation</em>.</p>

<p>If fossil-fuel development continues to expand globally and the world only makes minimal efforts to reduce planet-warming pollution, the researchers predict that the US could face 80 days of extreme heat each summer, resulting in a staggering increase in heat-related cardiovascular deaths, exceeding 5,491 excess deaths per year.</p>

<p>Even in a more optimistic scenario where climate change mitigation measures are enacted, the US could still experience 71 days of extreme heat each year, leading to a 2.6 times increase in heat-related mortality. By the middle of the century, this scenario could result in more than 4,320 excess cardiovascular deaths linked to excessive heat.</p>

Maricopa County, Arizona, reported a significant number of deaths due to heat-associated illness, making this year the deadliest for heat deaths since the county began tracking them in 2006.
