<p>"Baksa and Udalguri districts in Assam have been benefitting from the water sources in Bhutan for many decades and they continue to do so even during the present difficult times when we are faced with the COVID-19 pandemic," it added.</p>

<p>The country's foreign ministry said that since the lockdown in India and closure of Bhutan’s borders due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Assamese farmers were unable to enter Bhutan to maintain the irrigation channels.</p>

<p>"The Samdrup Jongkhar district Officials and the general public have taken the initiative to repair the irrigation channels whenever there are problems to ensure the smooth flow of water to Assam," the ministry said, adding,"Bhutan would like to assure the people of Assam that the government of Bhutan, particularly the Samdrup Jongkhar district authorities, will make every effort to ensure that the disruptions caused by the monsoon rains to the irrigation channels are addressed without delay"</p>

<p>The ministry asked the Samdrup Jongkhar authorities to maintain close contact with their counterparts in Baksa and Udalguri while adding that it it "deeply values age-old ties of friendship and cooperation with the people of India, particularly their close neighbors across the borders in Assam and West Bengal."</p>

<p>The name of the scientist has been redacted in court documents. &nbsp;The FBI affidavit suggested that the professor was associated with China's Thousand Talents Program.&nbsp;</p>

The petition said that it was "a 100 per cent Kenyan funded venture" with the Kenyan taxpayers who would be repaying the loan repayments.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It was a reportedly a $3.2 billion project between Kenya and China.</p>

<p>The Kenyan High Court had earlier dismissed the case as state-run railway along with CRBC defended their position. However, the appeal court gave the verdict in favour of the plaintiffs. The Kenyan government or the CRB can appeal in the nation's Supreme Court.</p>

<p>Large sections of the railway line is already operational with both parties having poured massive resources into the project.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Kenya had&nbsp;launched the cargo service on the Chinese-built Standard Gauge Railway in October last year. Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and Chinese state councillor Wang Yong, who is the special envoy of Chinese President Xi Jinping, had later launched the phase 2A freight service and dry port located in the resort town of Naivasha in December, 2019.</p>

<p>Brazil's acting health minister, Eduardo Pazuello, said the country wants to sign a contract for domestic production of the vaccine. Brazil has the second-largest COVID-19 cases after the United States which has 1.3&nbsp;million infected cases and 1,20,000 deaths.</p>

<p>The quake which was centred in central California hit Lone Pine near Death Valley National Park. There were also smaller shocks recorded of 3.1 and 2.5, reports said. Reports said at least a dozen aftershocks were felt by residents.</p>

<p>There were no reports of any damage due to the quake. Earlier a 7.5 earthquake had hit Mexico on Tuesday in which at least 6 people were killed and had damaged several homes and cut power lines.</p>

<p>Solicitor General Tushar Mehta today informed the Supreme Court that the Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) has decided to cancel 10th and 12th exams scheduled for July 1 to 15.</p>

<p>"As soon as conditions will be conducive, we could conduct the CBSE class 12 examinations for students who opt for it," India's Solicitor General said.</p>

<p>"Scheme has been formulated for assessment of class XII students on the basis of last exams," the government told India's top court.</p>

<p>The ICSE board also cancelled class 10th and 12 board exams. However, ICSE doesn't agree to give the option to students to write exam later, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta informed the Supreme Court.</p>

<p>CBSE had announced the date sheet for the pending class 10 and 12 board exams in May after it was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic as a lockdown was imposed on March 25. The CBSE had said that class 10th exams would be staggered on four dates, starting July 1.</p>

<p>Several schools had resorted to online classes as the coronavirus cases began to climb in March in India. The Delhi government had earlier requested the central government to promote Class X and XII students based on internal exams.</p>

<p>In Rajasthan, 76 new coronavirus cases were reported with the total number of cases going up to 16,085 including 3,064 active cases. The death toll due to the virus has reached to 375 in the state.</p>

<p>Andhra Pradesh reported 477 new coronavirus cases and 7 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases to 8783. The death toll in the state due to the virus has gone up to 136.</p>

<p>West Bengal reported 445 new coronavirus cases and 11 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases rises to 15,173 in the state including 4,880 active cases and 591 deaths.</p>
