Israeli war cabinet minister Benny Gantz's centrist party on Thursday (May 30) said that they had submitted a bill seeking to dissolve the parliament and have an early election.

"The head of the National Union Party, Pnina Tamano-Shata, has put forward a bill to dissolve the 25th Knesset. This follows the request of party leader Minister Benny Gantz to move forward in broad agreement to an election before October, a year since the massacre," said the political party, in a statement.

The submission of the bill is seen as an attempt to topple Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government.

National Unity MK Pnina Tamano-Shata had submitted the proposal to dissolve Israel’s parliament, Israel Hayom reported.

Countering the bill, Netanyahu's right-wing Likud party said that "the dissolution of the unity government is a reward for (Hamas Gaza leader Yahya) Sinwar, a capitulation to international pressure and a fatal blow to efforts to free our hostages".

In Israel, the election is not due before the final quarter of 2026 and earlier, the Likud party had warned that holding an early election would harm the fight against Hamas in Gaza.

<h2>Gantz's deadline for Netanyahu to draw a plan of action&nbsp;</h2>

This month, Gantz threatened to resign from the war cabinet if Netanyahu did not finalise a post-war plan for the Gaza Strip.

He had earlier threatened to leave the coalition of Netanyahu if the president did not sketch a plan for the Gaza war.

“I look you in the eyes tonight and tell you: The choice is in your hands. After talking to you again and again, the moment of truth has come,” Gantz said.

He gave a deadline of June 8 to Netanyahu for finalising a plan of action and to finalise six key strategic goals of the war.

The strategic goals listed by Netanyahu are - bringing home the hostages; destroying Hamas, creating an “international civilian governance mechanism for Gaza” including Palestinians but not P.A. leader Mahmoud Abbas or Hamas; advancing normalisation with Saudi Arabia and establishing a new framework for Israelis’ military service; demilitarizing the Gaza Strip and establishing Israeli security control there and returning the residents to the north and rehabilitating the western Negev.

Gantz in April had stated that Israel should go to the elections in September. Defence Minister Yoav Gallant had also criticised Netanyahu for not being able to rule out an Israeli occupation of Gaza after the war.

5 Lifestyle Changes Which Help Increase Blood Flow Naturally

Apart from adopting a healthy diet for improving blood circulation, one needs to accommodate other lifestyle changes which are likely to have a larger impact. Here are a few lifestyle modifications which can optimise blood flow.

Smoking increases the chances of many chronic diseases, like cancer and can have a negative impact on blood circulation.

Blood flow is stimulated by exercise and it also helps in improving vasodilation. Also, regular exercise helps in decreasing the chances of heart disease.

Being obese or overweight has negative impacts on the blood flow and can cause dangerous complications, which include plaque buildup in your arteries.

Consuming a healthy diet is always recommended. A diet which includes vegetables, healthy fats, and fibre-rich foods helps to improve circulation and supports heart health.

It has been proved by researchers that stress levels can have a significant impact on blood pressure. Hence, one should try to manage stress by practising yoga, meditation, gardening, or spending time with nature.

6 Ways In Which You Can Save Your AC From Exploding This Summer

An "AC blast" means a fire or an explosion in an air conditioning (AC) unit. This can happen because of different reasons like electrical or mechanical failures, as per the officials. Here's what you can do to keep your air-conditioning safe.

A clogged filter stops airflow because of which the AC has to work harder and it overheats. Hence, it is advisable to regularly change it.

Twigs, leaves and other kinds of dirt can block the condenser coils and decrease efficiency while increasing the chances of overheating. Hence, the outdoor unit should be kept clean.

Keep the area around the outdoor unit clean and ensure proper airflow in the unit by not placing anything at least in the two feet area around it.

Dedicated circuits are required in the AC units and hence, an extension cord can overload the circuit and eventually lead to overheating.

The air-conditioners should have regular maintenance by a qualified technician who can check wiring and loose connections, if any.

Any odours or unusual noises can be a sign of some major issue in the AC unit and hence, one must notice such signals and take required action.

More than four million chickens set to be culled as United States battles worst bird flu outbreak

The United States&nbsp;Supreme Court gave a boost on Thursday to the National Rifle Association in its free speech dispute with a New York state official it accused of coercing banks and insurers to avoid doing business with the influential gun rights advocacy group.

The justices, in a 9-0 decision authored by liberal Justice Sonia Sotomayor, threw out a lower court's ruling that dismissed the NRA's 2018 lawsuit against Maria Vullo, a former superintendent of New York's Department of Financial Services. The NRA has claimed that Vullo unlawfully retaliated against it following a mass shooting in which 17 people were killed at a high school in Parkland, Florida.

At issue in the dispute is whether Vullo had wielded her regulatory power to coerce New York financial institutions into cutting ties with the NRA in violation of protections under the US&nbsp;Constitution's First Amendment against government restrictions on free speech.

"Ultimately, the critical takeaway is that the First Amendment prohibits government officials from wielding their power selectively to punish or suppress speech, directly or, as alleged here, through private intermediaries," Sotomayor wrote.

The case will now return to the lower courts for further analysis of the NRA's allegations under the standard articulated in the Supreme Court's ruling.

Vullo called upon banks and insurers to consider the "reputational risks" of doing business with gun rights groups following the February 2018 Parkland shootings. In the aftermath of the Parkland rampage by a 19-year-old former student armed with an AR-15 rifle, NRA officials lashed out at gun control advocates, arguing that Democratic elites were politicizing the shootings to erode gun rights.

Vullo later fined Lloyd's of London and two other insurers more than $13 million for offering an NRA-endorsed product called "Carry Guard" that Vullo's office found was in violation of New York insurance law. The product provided liability coverage for policyholders who caused injuries from gunfire, even in cases involving the wrongful use of a firearm.

The insurers agreed to stop selling NRA-endorsed products that New York considered illegal.

<h2>'Implicit&nbsp;censorship regime'</h2>

The NRA's lawsuit, seeking unspecified monetary damages, accused Vullo of unlawfully retaliating against the group for its constitutionally protected gun rights advocacy by targeting it with an "implicit censorship regime." Its suit alleged that New York's "blacklisting" campaign sought to deprive the NRA of basic financial services and threatened its advocacy work.

The case did not involve the Constitution's Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

The Supreme Court heard arguments in the case in March.

The NRA is the largest and most powerful gun rights organization in the United States and has been instrumental in thwarting Democratic-backed gun restrictions in the U.S. Congress. The nonprofit group is organized under the laws of New York state, with its main offices in Virginia.

A federal judge in 2021 dismissed all of the NRA's claims apart from two free speech counts against Vullo. The Manhattan-based 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in 2022 said those also should have been dismissed, prompting the NRA's Supreme Court appeal.

The NRA found an unlikely ally in the case in President Joe Biden's administration. Even though Biden has called gun violence a national embarrassment, his administration had urged the justices to let the NRA pursue its lawsuit.

The administration argued that a lower court should determine whether Vullo's actions crossed the line between permissible criticism of the NRA and coercion aimed at suppressing a disfavored viewpoint in violation of the First Amendment protections.

The case was the latest to come before the Supreme Court involving the NRA, a group closely aligned with Republicans that has opposed gun control measures and backed pivotal lawsuits that have widened U.S. gun rights.

Americans remain deeply divided over how to address firearms violence including frequent mass shootings even as the Supreme Court, which has a 6-3 conservative majority, has taken an expansive view of gun rights.

Vullo was sued in both her official and personal capacities. But the 2nd Circuit found that Vullo would be protected from suit under the legal defense of qualified immunity that shields officials from civil litigation in certain circumstances.

The Supreme Court by the end of June is expected to issue rulings in two gun rights cases. One involves a challenge to the legality of a federal ban on "bump stock" devices that enable semiautomatic weapons to fire rapidly like machine guns. The other involves a challenge to the legality of a federal law that makes it a crime for people under domestic violence restraining orders to have guns.

The United States Supreme Court gave a boost on Thursday to the National Rifle Association in its free speech dispute with a New York state official it accused of coercing banks and insurers to avoid doing business with the influential gun rights advocacy group. At issue in the dispute is whether Vullo had wielded her regulatory power to coerce New York financial institutions into cutting ties with the NRA in violation of protections under the US Constitution's First Amendment against government restrictions on free speech. "Ultimately, the critical takeaway is that the First Amendment prohibits government officials from wielding their power selectively to punish or suppress speech, directly or, as alleged here, through private intermediaries," Sotomayor wrote. Also Read: Biden claims 'xenophobia' stalling economic growth in India, China, Japan The case will now return to the lower courts for further analysis of the NRA's allegations under the standard articulated in the Supreme Court's ruling. 'Implicit censorship regime' The NRA's lawsuit, seeking unspecified monetary damages, accused Vullo of unlawfully retaliating against the group for its constitutionally protected gun rights advocacy by targeting it with an "implicit censorship regime." Its suit alleged that New York's "blacklisting" campaign sought to deprive the NRA of basic financial services and threatened its advocacy work. Iran&nbsp;on Thursday began the formal registration of presidential candidates ahead of a snap vote next month to replace the late Ebrahim Raisi who died in a helicopter crash.

"Candidate registration for the 14th presidential elections began at 8 am (0430 GMT)... at the interior ministry," the official IRNA news agency said.

Presidential hopefuls will have five days to register, IRNA added.

The elections were originally slated for 2025 but were brought forward following Raisi's unexpected death on May 19.

Raisi and seven members of his entourage, including foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, were killed when their aircraft came down on a fog-shrouded mountainside in northern&nbsp;Iran.

The Islamic republic's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has since assigned vice president Mohammad Mokhber, 68, as caretaker president in accordance with the constitution.

On Thursday, state TV reported that "around 30 people" came forward to submit applications for candidacy, but "none of them met the basic conditions for qualification".

An AFP correspondent later saw former reformist lawmaker Mostafa Kavakebian and incumbent conservative parliamentarian Mohammadreza Sabaghian submitting their applications at the ministry.

Candidates must be between the ages of 40 and 75 and have at least a master's degree, according to&nbsp;Iran's electoral law.

As in previous election cycles, the main candidates representing&nbsp;Iran's leading political camps are expected to submit their application closer to the end of the registration process.

7 Foods Which Increase Blood Flow And Circulation

A number of health issues like peripheral artery disease (PAD), diabetes and obesity lead to poor blood circulation. Here are the 7 best foods which increase blood flow:

Cayenne pepper contains a phytochemical known as capsaicin which promotes blood flow and lowers blood pressure while stimulating the release of nitric oxide.

Pomegranates are rich in polyphenol antioxidants and nitrates which ensure oxygenation of muscle tissue and improve blood flow.

Onions are a good source of flavonoid antioxidants which are good for heart health as they help widen arteries and veins when blood flow increases. They have anti-inflammatory properties which boost blood flow.

Cinnamon has many health benefits which include increasing blood flow. It is believed to have a more favourable effect on diastolic blood pressure in comparison to systolic blood pressure.

Garlic has a beneficial impact on circulation as well as heart health. Its sulphur compounds are filled with allicin which can increase tissue blood flow and decrease blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels.

Fatty fish like mackerel and salmon are a good source of omega-3 fatty acids. Such fats are beneficial for circulation since they promote the release of nitric oxide which helps in dilating blood vessels and increases blood flow.

Turmeric helps in increasing the blood flow. It improves blood circulation with the help of a compound found in turmeric which is called curcumin.

5 Drinks Which Keep Your Heart Healthy, Other Than Water

If you are looking for heart-healthy drinks, there is nothing better than water. However, there are some drinks, apart from water, which you can choose as they are healthy for the heart.

Unflavoured dairy milk can be one of the drinks which is heart-healthy. Milk is a dairy food and such foods don’t decrease or increase the risk of heart disease, however, they are important sources of calcium, protein and other minerals.

For those who are allergic or intolerant to dairy milk, plant-based milk can be an option for heart-healthy drinks. Plant-based milk has different sources like legumes (or pulses), tree nuts, seeds and cereals. They are very nutritious.

Tea can be part of a heart-healthy drink. However, the added sugar should be minimal and it is better to opt for green tea since it is lower in caffeine than black tea.

Coffee can also be part of heart-healthy eating. However, it may not be the best option for caffeine-sensitive people. Also, one should not add sugar, cream, ice cream or syrups.

It is also advisable to occasionally drink fruit or vegetable juice. One can also add sparkling or tap water to extend the fruit juice further.

Taiwan's cabinet will reject and send back for review legislation the opposition&nbsp;passed on Tuesday on parliamentary reforms that have brought tens of thousands onto the streets to protest amid accusations of Chinese interference.

The peaceful protests, and sometimes&nbsp;violent confrontations in parliament over the reforms, have been taking place against a backdrop of broader concern about efforts by China, which views Taiwan as its own territory, to influence the island's politics and split Taiwanese public opinion.

The Democratic Progressive Party's (DPP) Lai Ching-te won the presidency in January elections, but the party lost its majority in parliament. Taiwan's main opposition party, the Kuomintang (KMT), along with the small Taiwan People's Party, together have the most seats.

The parliament reforms give lawmakers the power to ask the military, private companies or individuals to disclose information deemed relevant by parliamentarians, who have the power to punish those who fail to co-operate.

They also criminalise contempt of parliament by government officials, and require the president to give regular reports to parliament and answer lawmakers' questions, which would be a first for Taiwan.

In a statement late on Monday, the cabinet said the legislation could breach the constitution and separation of power between the executive and legislative branches, and once it had received the documents it will send them back for parliament to reconsider.

The cabinet said while that was likely to be vetoed by parliament, it was "duty bound" to do this.

The DPP, which says the reforms were forced through without proper consultation and their content either vague or an over-reach of power, said it would support its lawmakers to ask the constitutional court for an interpretation on whether the laws and the way the reforms were pushed through were constitutional.

The DPP, and many of the protesters, have repeatedly accused the KMT of being in league with Beijing in trying to ram through the legislation.
