Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal released a statement on Monday saying that there is no flood threat in Delhi from the rising&nbsp;water level of Yamuna after heavy rains lashed the national capital and adjoining areas.

He further said that all the other political parties should not play blame games, asserting that now was not the time to "point fingers" at each other.

"A flood-like situation unlikely to arise in Delhi. Government is prepared to deal with any situation," he said while addressing a press conference after a meeting to review the city's handling of the heavy rainfall.

Kejriwal said, "It is not the time to point fingers and single out anybody." He further added that evacuation of people from low-lying areas around Yamuna will begin once the river breaches the 206-metre mark.

Citing reports of the Central Water Commission (CWC), Kejriwal said, "Yamuna river flowing at 203.58 metres in Delhi. It is expected to reach 205.5 metres tomorrow morning. Also, according to weather predictions, the water level in Yamuna is not expected to rise too high. A flood-like situation is unlikely. If Yamuna crosses the 206-metre mark, then we will start evacuation along the banks of the river."

The Delhi CM also commented on the potholes in the city saying that those will be filled with stones to prevent accidents. He further said that the New Delhi Municipal Corporation has been asked to resolve waterlogging issues faced by locals.

He further said that there will be an inquiry into the incidents of roads caving in, adding that the state governments in north India were reaching out to the people affected by the torrential rains.

"All the political parties will have to coordinate and seek ways to provide relief to the people. Northern India was pounded with unpreceded rains over the last few days," the Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor said.

He mentioned that Delhi received the highest rainfall in July since 1982. "There are reports that people are facing a lot of problems in other adjoining areas as well. In such a situation, we all have to come forward and help each other", Kejriwal said.

He then said that the Delhi government has directed its officials to reach out to the people after heavy rains caused chaos in the city.

He then further condemned the former Pakistan PM for planning desperate moves to coerce his way back into power after a failed planned attack on the state symbols.

"After his methodically planned attack on the State symbols failed, he is clearly desperate and wants to coerce his way back into power, little knowing that the time of his politics of intimidation, violence and hatred is over," he said.

Last year, on October 21, the Election Commission of Pakistan disqualified the former PM in the Toshakhana reference under Article 63(1)(p) of the Constitution for making "false statements and incorrect declaration".

Then in the month of May this year, a trial court rejected the former Pakistan PM's petition, challenging the 
maintainability of the reference. The court also indicted the PTI chief who declined all the accusations levelled against him.

Khan then challenged the trial court's decision before the Islamabad High Court (IHC), which sent the case back to the trial court for re-examination within a span of seven days, according to Geo news reports.

French MPs called on the government, on Thursday, to ban the video-sharing platform TikTok till it clarifies its links to China. This move came after the government condemned the social media platform for igniting and fuelling riots in the country.

A Senate commission of inquiry set to investigate TikTok's handling of data and "influence strategy" said in its final report that the video-sharing platform should be given time until January 1 next year to either come clean or face a ban in France and possibly Europe.

The commission, which held four months of hearings and quizzed TikTok executives about its ownership structure, also said the platform had to enhance content moderation and introduce "effective" age limits or face being suspended.

"We strongly disagree with the conclusions of this report, which does not accurately reflect the facts," a TikTok spokesperson said.&nbsp;

Macron and his ministers have picked out platforms, including TikTok, for circulating images of the nights of violence that took place after a police officer shot dead 17-year-old, Nahel M in a Paris suburb on June 27.

Andre Gattolin, vice-chairman of the committee, said he "absolutely doubted" the viability of TikTok's business model.

He said it appeared TikTok "is not an economic enterprise but a political enterprise with the aim of capturing personal data".

The TikTok spokesperson said the firm had cooperated throughout, adding: "It is disappointing that the Commission would spend so much time and resources only to return to the same misperceptions."

France riots: MPs call on government to ban video-sharing platform TikTok

UK Tory MP Chris Pincher has been suspended for eight weeks after a probe found him guilty of groping two men at a London club last year.

Parliament's standards committee released a statement saying that his "completely inappropriate" behaviour was an "abuse of power".

Pincher said that he wanted to "apologise sincerely" for his conduct, further adding that he had sought professional medical help, which is "ongoing".

Pincher is due to stand down as an MP at the next general election, which is scheduled to take place next year.

Labour deputy leader Angela Rayner said the report was "shocking," and Pincher should "do the decent thing" and resign as an MP immediately, reports&nbsp;BBC.

The incident took place at the Carlton Club, a private members club in central London, and was examined by Parliament's standards commissioner Daniel Greenberg.

<h2>Pincher was heavily intoxicated</h2>

After a year-long investigation, commissioner Daniel Greenberg found out that Pincher had groped a then-employee of the House of Lords.

He groped his arm and neck and then his bottom. As per BBC reports, Greenberg also found during the probe that the MP had also groped a civil servant on his bottom and then his testicles.

Pincher was "heavily intoxicated" at the time and remembers "feeling hot and saying to someone ‘I’m alright’," the commissioner wrote.

But he "does not recall any other details about the evening or how he got home," Greenberg added.

The victim told the commissioner that he was deeply affected by the incident and it continues to haunt him and affect his sleep.

The cross-party Standards Committee said Pincher's actions amounted to "sexual misconduct" and his behaviour was "unwanted, upsetting and inappropriate".&nbsp;

In a report after the investigation, MPs on the cross-party standards committee which examines complaints against MPs, concluded Pincher's "profoundly damaging" behaviour "represented an abuse of power".

They further added that his conduct had broken the Commons behaviour code by causing significant damage to the reputation of the parliament.

Their report added that, in a written submission, Pincher had accepted his behaviour "damaged his own reputation and that of the government".&nbsp;

The committee however further added that Pincher declined the suggestion that he had done 'significant damage' to the reputation of the Parliament, further arguing that he was speaking at the club as a former minister rather than as an MP.

Pincher now has 10 days to appeal to an independent expert panel, if he can provide new evidence.

UK Tory MP faces eight-week ban over groping incident

The man who was found guilty of raping and impregnating a 9-year-old Ohio girl, who had to travel out of state to end her pregnancy, was on Wednesday sentenced to life imprisonment.

28-year-old Gerson Fuentes entered a plea agreement which will make him eligible to seek parole after serving 25 to 30 years. If granted parole, Fuentes would then have to register as a sex offender.

As per AP reports, Common Pleas Court Judge Julie Lynch, who wasn't required to approve the plea agreement, said that the girl’s family “begged” the judge to back it. Lynch called the deal a “very hard pill for this court to swallow.”

“Anyone who’s ever been in this courtroom for the last 20 years knows how this court feels about these babies, young people, being violated,” AP quoted Lynch as saying. “However, today, by the request of the family, this court will be sentencing without comment.”&nbsp;

The maximum sentence would have been life without parole. Settling the case before trial would excuse the survivor from having to testify in court.

Zachary Olah, an attorney who represented Fuentes, told The Columbus Dispatch after the hearing that his client has been cooperative since the beginning.

“He was anxious to get this resolved,” Olah said.

The girl turned 10 before having the abortion. According to Franklin County prosecutors, she confirmed that Fuentes attacked her.&nbsp;

The prosecutors also said that the DNA test of the aborted fetus confirmed that Fuentes was the father.&nbsp;

The case gained national attention after&nbsp;Indianapolis doctor, Dr Caitlin Bernard, released a statement saying that a 10-year-old girl had to travel to Indiana to terminate a pregnancy because Ohio banned the procedure at the first detectable fetal heartbeat.&nbsp;

Nearly 25 states have either banned or imposed restrictions on abortion since the Supreme Court struck down Roe, though many of the new laws are still being litigated.

If granted parole, Fuentes would then have to register as a sex offender. As per AP reports, Common Pleas Court Judge Julie Lynch, who wasn't required to approve the plea agreement, said that the girl’s family “begged” the judge to back it. Lynch called the deal a “very hard pill for this court to swallow.” “Anyone who’s ever been in this courtroom for the last 20 years knows how this court feels about these babies, young people, being violated,” AP quoted Lynch as saying. “However, today, by the request of the family, this court will be sentencing without comment.” The maximum sentence would have been life without parole. Settling the case before trial would excuse the survivor from having to testify in court. Zachary Olah, an attorney who represented Fuentes, told The Columbus Dispatch after the hearing that his client has been cooperative since the beginning. “He was anxious to get this resolved,” Olah said. The girl turned 10 before having the abortion. According to Franklin County prosecutors, she confirmed that Fuentes attacked her. French far-right media personality Jean Messiha, who was the one behind launching the initiative on GoFundMe.com, on Wednesday said that he had closed the campaign in accordance with the policeman's family as it had reached "a comfortable level".

An ultra-nationalist and former adviser to anti-immigration politicians Marine Le Pen and Eric Zemmour, Messiha launched the crowdfunding campaign last week sparking controversy and calls for GoFundMe to suspend the collection.

The mother of the victim, Nahel M, who was shot dead by the French policeman last week, launched legal action against Messiha.

"A complaint has been lodged today for fraud by a group, misuse of personal data and conspiracy in these crimes against Jean Messiha and everyone identified in the investigation as taking part in these offences," her lawyer Yassine Bouzrou said in a statement, as quoted by news agency AFP.

Several left-wing lawmakers have also launched legal action in an attempt to close the fund.

<h2>Funds for French police officer top donations given to victim's family</h2>

The amount raised for the police officer exceeded the donations made to the teenager's family, sparking outrage among many French nationals.

The crowdfunding, which was launched on the US platform GoFundMe by French far-right media personality Jean Messiha, received more than 72,000 private donations.

"This police officer is the victim of a national witch-hunt and it is a disgrace," Messiha tweeted.

"The fact that it was someone close to the far right who launched this fund does not, without doubt, help to calm things down," said French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne.

A video of the incident being circulated on social media showed two police officers beside the car, a Mercedes AMG, with one shooting as the driver pulled away.

Another teenager in the car has claimed the officers who stopped Nahel hit him with the butts of their pistols, and a voice can be heard on the video shouting: "You are going to get a bullet in the head."

Messiha said the fund was "a cry from French people to demand order, a cry of love for their security forces."

SFJ's legal counsel Gurpatwant Pannun released a video on Wednesday in which he made the latest threat referring to the plans of organising a 'Khalistan Freedom Rally' on Saturday, July 8, as per The Hindustan Times report.

The video was then further circulated by numerous newly created handles that appeared to be either operating from Pakistan or were pro-Pakistan.

The matter has now been brought to the notice of Canadian authorities by India. However, the threat is not only limited to India’s High Commission and two consulates in Canada but also encompasses the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and European nations, as it did with the rally that was conducted on June 8.

<h2>Lack of action against&nbsp;SFJ encouraging the group</h2>

As per the HT reports, a senior Indian official has expressed concerns over the absence of action against the secessionist group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), like imposing a ban or declaring it a terrorist entity. That he said was encouraging SFJ.

With instances of grave attacks like arson at the Indian consulate in San Francisco, United States last week, and violation of the security perimeter of the Indian High Commission Ottawa on March 23 with smoke bombs used by pro-Khalistan protesters, the concern has already been elevated.

Pannun has made claims condemning India for the “assassination” of prominent SFJ figure Harjit Singh Nijjar on June 18 in the parking lot of a gurdwara in Surrey, British Columbia. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT), probing the killing, has not yet elucidated the motive behind it and is searching for the criminals.

As per Indian law enforcement, Nijjar was allegedly the head of the Khalistan Tiger Force and also faced multiple charges related to terrorism. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had also offered a reward of Rs 10 Lakh (12,126.94 US Dollars) for any information that could help in capturing him.

However, none of the charges against him were testified in the Canadian courts and SFJ has affirmed that it does not exercise violence.

Hours after the rumours of Pannun's death circulated on social media, he posted a video on Wednesday saying that the protests will be peaceful.

A campaign, that was initiated to collect funds for the family of the French police officer, who shot dead 17-year-old, Nahel, topped 1.47 million euros ($1.6 million) on Tuesday, exceeding the donations made to the teenager's family, sparking outrage among many French nationals.

The crowdfunding, which was launched on the US platform GoFundMe by French far-right media personality Jean Messiha who supported Eric Zemmour's 2022 presidential run, received more than 72,000 private donations.

"This police officer is the victim of a national witch-hunt and it is a disgrace," Messiha tweeted.

"The fact that it was someone close to the far right who launched this fund does not, without doubt, help to calm things down," said French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne.

As per news agency Reuters reports, the leftwing politicians deemed the fundraiser 'shameful', whereas the far right defended the police force, saying that in the low-income suburbs of French cities, police are the daily target of violence.

For far-right national rally party Jordan Bardella this crowdfunding has received a lot of support because "the French don't mix up one man's mistake with the situation of his family".

The fundraising pledges for Nahel's family stood at 360,000 euros.

French President Emmanuel Macron during a meeting of mayors on Tuesday said the peak of riots had passed. However, he added he was still cautious to call an end to the violence.

Macron had met with hundreds of French officials on Tuesday to get to the depth of the reason behind the country's descent into violence after a teenager was shot dead by the police in the Paris suburb of Nanterre for fleeing a traffic check.

The meeting with 302 mayors of towns where rioting took place came after authorities reported a much calmer night across the country.

"We all want a lasting, republican order," Macron said. "That's the absolute priority."

At the gathering of mayors, Macron was hoping to "start the painstaking, long-term work needed to understand the deeper reasons that led to these events", an official at the president's office said.

Macron pitched the idea of handing out quick-fire fines to the parents of children caught for destruction or theft.

"With the first crime, we need to find a way of sanctioning the families financially and easily," he said, according to comments reported by the Parisien newspaper.

Around 150 people were arrested overnight across France in connection with the violent protests that broke out since the killing of a 17-year-old teenager by a police officer at a traffic stop, said the interior ministry, on Monday (July 3). Fundraising campaign for French police officer who shot teenager tops donations given to victim's family

In the latest development in the probe launched into the discovery of cocaine at the White House, officials have found out that the stash of the drug was discovered near the place where "visitors taking tours of the West Wing are instructed to leave their cellphones," as per The Washington Post.

The Secret Service is probing how the drug ended up in the White House after the tests indicated that the substance found on the ground floor of the White House on Sunday was cocaine.

The staffers in the White House are authorised to give tours of the West Wing, which usually occur during the night or on the weekends.&nbsp;

The guests are required to go through a security check before entering the White House complex and are then asked to leave their phones in small boxes just before entering the West Wing. According to The Washington Post, the officials said that the substance was found near the boxes.

During the tours, the guests are shown the ground floor and the first floor of the West Wing. Guests on these tours can peek inside the Oval Office, the Cabinet Room and the Roosevelt Room.

A spokesman for the Secret Service, Anthony Guglielmi, as per The Washington Post,&nbsp;had previously said that the DC fire department determined that the substance, which was found in a “work area of the West Wing,” did not present a threat.

“An investigation into the cause and manner of how the substance entered the White House is ongoing,” The Washington Post quoted Guglielmi as saying.

As per news agency ANI reports, the posters of the rally, that emerged on social media, contained threats to the Indian High Commissioner to the UK Vikram Doraiswami and Shashank Vikram, Consul General of India, Birmingham.

India's foreign minister Dr S Jaishankar in New Delhi, reacting to the reports of the posters with the names of Indian diplomats said, "We have requested our partner countries, like Canada, UK, Australia, US that they should not give space to these Khalistanis."

"These radical extremist ideologies aren't good for us, them, or our ties. Will raise the issue of these posters," he added.&nbsp;
