The scientists published their study of this bat in scientific journal American Museum Novitates on Wednesday. Turns out, this is a new species of bats altogether.</p>

<p>The scientists were on an expedition in West African country of Guinea when they stumbled upon this interesting species</p>

<p>“It was kind of a life goal in a way, one that I never thought would happen,” said Jon Flanders, director of endangered species interventions at Bat Conservation International, a nonprofit organization based in Austin, Texas. “Every species is important, but you get drawn to the interesting-looking ones, and this one really is spectacular.”</p>

<p>Finding an altogether new species in wild is novel in times most new species are being discovered in laboratory experiments.</p>

<p>“This sort of situation where experienced researchers went out in the field and caught an animal and held it in their hand and went, ‘This is something we can’t identify,’ that’s much more unusual,” said Nancy Simmons, curator of mammals at the American Museum of Natural History in New York and chairwoman of the global bat taxonomy group at the International Union for Conservation of Nature.</p>

<p>The new species of bats, named Myotis nimbaensis, lives in Guinea’s Nimba mountains.</p>

<p>The scientists, not wanting to jump to conclusion that this was a new species, compared the orange bat with known species already in scientific catalogues. But there was no match.</p>

<p>The expedition team then caught two bats again. A male and female.</p>

<p>Simmons then combed through the extensive bat collections at the American Museum of Natural History to compare the two specimens with known species, and she travelled to the Smithsonian National Museum in Washington, D.C., and the British Museum in London to do the same.</p>

<p>Genetic analysis showed that the orange bat was different from its closest relatives. This was a step in the direction to declare this to be a new species.</p>

<p>The bat does bear resemblance to more commonly found bats in a sense that it has black wings. But the considerable splash of orange is making this one talk of the town.</p>

YouTube suspends Trump's channel for violation of policy on violence incitement

<p>A cold wave gripped Delhi on Wednesday as frosty winds from the snow-clad western Himalayas continued to sweep the plains and brought the minimum temperature down to 3.2 degrees Celsius, the IMD said.<br />
"Dense" fog blanketed parts of the city, lowering visibility to 50 metres and affecting traffic movement.</p>

<p>Cold wave conditions prevailed at the Safdarjung Observatory, which provides representative data for the city. It recorded a minimum of 3.2 degrees Celsius, four notches below the normal, said Kuldeep Srivastava, the regional forecasting centre head of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).</p>

<p>In the plains, the IMD declares a cold wave if the minimum temperature dips to 4 degrees Celsius. A severe cold wave is when the minimum is 2 degrees Celsius or less.</p>

<p>Cold and dry northerly/northwesterly winds from the western Himalayas have been barrelling through the plains, bringing down the minimum temperature in north India, Srivastava said.<br />
Similar conditions will prevail in the city over the next two days, he said.</p>

<p>"Dense" fog lowered visibility to 50 metres at Palam and 200 metres at Safdarjung, the IMD said.</p>

<p>According to the IMD, a "very dense" fog is when the visibility is between 0 and 50 metres. In case of a "dense" fog, the visibility is between 51 and 200 metres, "moderate" 201 and 500 metres, and "shallow" 501 and 1,000 metres.</p>

<p>Delhi had been registering above-normal minimum temperatures till Monday, as a cloud cover persisted over the city under the influence of successive Western Disturbances (WDs).</p>

<p>However, the temperature started dropping with the commencement of cold northwesterly winds after the withdrawal of the latest WD.</p>

<p>The city's minimum had settled at 4.8 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, 7 degrees Celsius on Monday, 7.8 degrees Celsius on Sunday, 10.8 degrees Celsius on Saturday, 9.6 degrees Celsius on Friday and 14.4 degrees Celsius on Thursday, the highest in January in four years, according to the IMD.<br />

According to the IMD, a "very dense" fog is when the visibility is between 0 and 50 metres. In case of a "dense" fog, the visibility is between 51 and 200 metres, "moderate" 201 and 500 metres, and "shallow" 501 and 1,000 metres. Delhi had been registering above-normal minimum temperatures till Monday, as a cloud cover persisted over the city under the influence of successive Western Disturbances (WDs). However, the temperature started dropping with the commencement of cold northwesterly winds after the withdrawal of the latest WD. The city's minimum had settled at 4.8 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, 7 degrees Celsius on Monday, 7.8 degrees Celsius on Sunday, 10.8 degrees Celsius on Saturday, 9.6 degrees Celsius on Friday and 14.4 degrees Celsius on Thursday, the highest in January in four years, according to the IMD.

<p>As the House prepared to move forward Wednesday with a vote to formally charge President Donald Trump with inciting violence against the government of the United States, a small but growing number of Republicans said they support the effort.</p>

<p>The vote is set to come exactly one week after the U.S. Capitol was breached by an angry mob of Trump loyalists.</p>

<p>In 2019, not a single Republican voted in favor of impeachment. House Republican leaders have said they would not formally lobby members of the party against voting to impeach the president this time, and these are the Republicans who have said that they intend to vote for impeachment.</p>

<p><strong>Rep. John Katko</strong></p>

<p>Katko, of New York, was the first Republican to publicly announce that he would back the impeachment proceedings. A former federal prosecutor, Katko said he looked at the facts of the siege, which began as lawmakers were working to certify the presidential election results.</p>

<p>“It cannot be ignored that President Trump encouraged this insurrection — both on social media ahead of Jan. 6, and in his speech that day,” Katko said in a statement. “By deliberately promoting baseless theories suggesting the election was somehow stolen, the president created a combustible environment of misinformation, disenfranchisement, and division. <p>The declaration provoked derision from Kim Yo Jong, who called it "senseless" and a demonstration of a "hostile attitude" by the South.</p>

<p>"We are only holding a military parade in the capital city, not military exercises targeting anybody nor launch of anything," she said, confirming the scheduling of the parade.</p>
