<p>The legal team of actress Amber Heard has filed a request for a new trial in her defamation case against her ex-husband Johnny Depp. Claiming that a juror who was not called for duty participated in the trial, Heard appealed to the court on Friday and said that her right to “a jury trial and due process” was “undermined and compromised”.</p>

<p>According to the documents filed by her lawyers in the Circuit Court of Fairfax County, the actress claims&nbsp;that she is entitled to a mistrial "based on newly discovered facts and information that Juror No. 15 was not the individual summoned for jury duty on April 11, 2022."</p>

<p>The documents further claimed that the person who was selected for the jury duty&nbsp;was 77 years old at the time and he shares the same last name and Virginia address as someone who was 52. As per the reports, the younger person was summoned for the trial and not the older one.</p>

The lawyers further noted&nbsp;the "high-profile" status of the trial "where the fact and date of the jury trial were highly publicized prior to and after the issuance of the juror summonses."</p>

<p>After a six-week-long trial, the jury had ruled that Heard has defamed Depp by calling herself a “public figure representing domestic abuse”. She was ordered to&nbsp;pay him over $10 million in damages.</p>

<p>Christian Bale shall always be associated with the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman in Christopher Nolan`s `Dark Knight` trilogy, but it is now revealed that not everyone had earlier believed in the duo`s portrayal of the character.</p>

<p>Starting with `Batman Begins` and most notably in `The Dark Knight,` Bale and Nolan grounded the character in a level of realism the comic book movie genre had never seen. Bale`s serious approach was the opposite of the campier take on Batman as seen in Joel Schumacher`s `Batman Forever` and `Batman &amp; Robin,` as per Variety.</p>

<p>"I would [tell people] we`re going to sort of do Batman, but take him seriously. I had tons of people laugh at me and just say, `Well, that`s just not going to work at all. So it`s wonderful to be a part of a trilogy that proved those people wrong. I`m not certain if it kick-started [the MCU], but it certainly helped along the way," Bale told The Washington Post.</p>

<p>Bale is next returning to the genre as the villainous `Gorr the God Butcher` in `Thor: Love and Thunder.` "I don`t have any goodbye and thank you unless other people say to me `goodbye and thank you, please never revisit this again` then I`ll take their word for it. But otherwise, a good story is a good story. A good film is a good film. And a good director is a good director. And I`m open to any of those ideas," Bale added.</p>

<p>Bale recently made headlines by telling ScreenRant that he`s not entirely opposed to revisiting Batman or Bruce Wayne in another `Dark Knight` film. However, the Oscar winner has one condition; Nolan must be the director of the movie.</p>

<p>Bale said, "I had a pact with Chris Nolan. We said, `Hey, look, let`s make three films, if we`re lucky enough to get to do that. And then let`s walk away. Let`s not linger too long.` In my mind, it would be something if Chris Nolan ever said to himself, `You know what, I`ve got another story to tell.` And if he wished to tell that story with me, I`d be in."</p>

<p>Shawn Mendes announced on Friday that he will postpone his `Wonder` world tour for three weeks to focus on his mental health. Taking to his Instagram handle, Mendes shared a post and wrote, "This breaks my heart to have to say this, but unfortunately I`m going to have to postpone the next three weeks of shows through Uncasville, CT until further notice."</p>

<p>"I`ve been touring since I was 15 and to be honest it`s always been difficult to be on the road away from friends and family. After a few years off the road, I felt like I was ready to dive back in, but that decision was premature and unfortunately, the toll of the road and the pressure has caught up to me and I`ve hit a breaking point," he said.</p>

<p>He continued, "After speaking with my team and health professionals, I need to take some time to heal and take care of myself and my mental health, first and foremost. As soon as there are more updates I promise I will let you know love you guys."</p>

<p>Captioning the post, he wrote, "love you dude".</p>

<p>Talking about the new series, Sumukhi said, "I am super excited since it's coming back after a while. After the pandemic, it will be great for the audience to have a light moment. This time, we have a new format, 4 judges, 7 exciting mentors and a lot more in store."</p>

<p>Sharing her views on the series, Neeti Palta said, "This season, the contestants are so fresh and equally balanced that it's a very exciting contest right till the end."</p>

<p>Recalling the response previous seasons got,&nbsp;Sumukhi said, "In our previous seasons, Prashasti Singh was a contestant and now she is a mentor this season and that shows a good success graph. And, I have noticed this in previous seasons that the audience didn't just appreciate the winner but everyone had their favourites. Like you will remember Rahul Dua, you will remember Prashasti and others. So, all in all, it was a great experience for everyone and not just the winner." Neeti added, "And, seeing the number of entries we got this season just shows how well-received the show was. And, there is no dearth of talent so it's amazing."</p>

<p>To mark late actor-director Guru Dutt's 97th birth anniversary, filmmaker R Balki paid homage to the legend and his classic 'Kaagaz Ke Phool'&nbsp;by sharing a new teaser of his upcoming film 'Chup: Revenge of the Artist'. The film stars Dulquer Salmaan, Shreya Dhanwanthary and Sunny Deol in pivotal roles.</p>

<p>In the short clip, Salmaan is seen making a bouquet of flowers from paper as a reference to Dutt's 1959 classic film. The movie's memorable song 'Waqt Ne Kiya'&nbsp;can be seen playing&nbsp;in the background.</p>

<p>In the next scene, Salmaan is seen offering&nbsp;the paper bouquet to Dhanwanthary's character who replies, "Guru Dutt ke birthday pe 'Kaagaz Ke Phool' (Flower made of papers on Guru Dutt's birthday)".</p>

<p>The teaser also shows Sunny Deol's character in its intense look. In the end, as Dhanwanthary points out that Dutt was criticised for 'Kaagaz Ke Phool', Deol's character reacts angrily and shouts, "Chup".</p>

<p>Guru Dutt's film 'Kaagaz Ke Phool' was strongly criticised when it was released. It told the story of once-renowned film director Suresh Sinha (played by Guru Dutt) whose life goes for a toss after he loses his daughter Pammi in a custody battle and gets estranged from his wife Shanti.</p>

<p>Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson has made it official on his social media that `Black Adam` is heading to San Diego Comic-Con. According to Deadline, the Black Adam panel is set for July 23 in Hall H. "6,000 Strong," Johnson wrote on Thursday in an Instagram post.</p>

<p>The movie is set to open on October 21. Johnson, who has been developing `Black Adam` for a decade, plays the title character, with Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone.</p>

He will attend the event to celebrate Kabir Khan`s directorial `83`, which traces the journey of India`s cricketing squad led by Kapil Dev, towards getting the nation its maiden World Cup win in 1983.</p>

In 2020 and 2021, the festival was held virtually.</p>
