<p>RBI has advised banks to stop issuing Rs 2000 denomination banknotes with immediate effect.<br />
Meanwhile, RBI said that citizens will continue to be able to deposit Rs 2000 banknotes into their bank accounts and/or exchange them into banknotes of other denominations at any bank branch up to September 30, 2023.</p>

<p>The Rs 2000 denomination banknote was introduced in November 2016, primarily to meet the currency requirement of the economy in an expeditious manner after the withdrawal of the legal tender status of all Rs 500 and Rs 1000 banknotes in circulation at that time.</p>

The objective of introducing Rs 2000 banknotes was met once banknotes in other denominations became available in adequate quantities. Therefore, the printing of Rs 2000 banknotes was stopped subsequently in 2018-19, stated RBI.</p>

<p>About 89 per cent of the Rs 2000 denomination banknotes were issued prior to March 2017 and are at the end of their estimated life span of four-five years.</p>

<p>The total value of these banknotes in circulation has declined from Rs 6.73 lakh crore at its peak as of March 31, 2018 (37.3 per cent of Notes in Circulation) to Rs 3.62 lakh crore constituting only 10.8 per cent of Notes in Circulation on March 31, 2023.</p>

<p>Although comb jellies&nbsp;look&nbsp;like jellyfish, they are quite different from them and move through the water by using their cilia rather than tentacles. They may be found in seas all around the world and are still a vital component of the marine ecology.</p>

<p>"But we can use comparisons across living animals to learn about our common ancestors."</p>

<p>To come to that conclusion, scientists examined how the genes were arranged in the creatures' chromosomes. The chromosomes of the ctenophore differ significantly from those of sponges, jellyfish, and other invertebrates, indicating to scientists that the ctenophore may have evolved much earlier or much later than the others.</p>

<p>"At first, we couldn't tell if ctenophore chromosomes were different from those of other animals, simply because they'd just changed a lot over hundreds of millions of years," said Rokhsar, adding, "Alternatively, they could be different because they branched off first, before all other animal lineages appeared. We needed to figure it out."</p>

<p>As per the police, the raw material which were seized from the men included methyl alcohol, hypo phosphoric acid, acetone, sulfur, and copper salt,&nbsp;hydrosulfuric acid, iodine crystals, ammonia, ephedrine.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In addition to the raw materials, police also confiscated equipment which are often used in the manufacturing of these synthetic drugs. It included high-quality face masks.</p>

<h2><strong>What was the gang's modus operandi?&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>Police revealed that the accused men were running a drug syndicate in Delhi-NCR. To remain low-key and away from the eyes of the police, the men were running the illegal activity from rented houses in&nbsp;Jaitpur-Vaispur village in Sector Theta 2.</p>

<p>"A detailed investigation is underway to trace the gang's network of raw material, chemical suppliers, members of the network who used to deliver the drug to customers," the police commissioner said. "Investigation is also underway to trace their financial transactions, supply lines connected abroad, possible links with narco terror," the officer said.</p>

<p>Whether the foreigners were living in Delhi-NCR legally or not is yet to be ascertained by the police.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The police team which raided the rented premises was headed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Greater Noida) Saad Miya Khan. As per Khan,&nbsp;no identification documents were found from the house during the raid.</p>

<p>"We have informed the embassies of their countries and also apprised the ANTF (Anti-Narcotics Task Force) as well as the NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau) about the development," Khan told PTI news agency.</p>

<p>Pakistan Army Chief Gen­eral Syed Asim Munir gave out a hard-hitting warning on Wednesday to the country's former prime minister Imran Khan in view of the protests and violence that ensued following the arrest of the PTI chief.&nbsp;Munir, who visited the Sialkot garrison to lay the wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument, said incidents like 9th May would never be allowed again at any cost and the perpetrators of the violence will be brought to justice.&nbsp;</p>
