It evolved from an earlier regional security grouping formed in 1996 after the collapse of the Soviet Union when the Central Asian states gained independence from Moscow. The historical meeting of the Heads of State Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation was held on June 8-9, 2017 in Astana. At the meeting, the status of a full member of the Organization was granted to India and Pakistan.</p>

Iran will become full-fledged member of SCO this year

<p>The House committee probing the 2021 assault on the US Capitol will examine connections between associates of former president Donald Trump and far right-wing extremist groups at its seventh hearing on Tuesday, as reported by AFP. Democratic Representative Zoe Lofgren said, "We are going to be connecting the dots during these hearings between these groups and those who were trying -- in government circles -- to overturn the election."&nbsp;</p>

<p>The lawmaker from California told CNN the session would focus on ties between members of Trump's inner circle and the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers. Members of the two militia groups stormed the Capitol on January 6, 2021, along with thousands of Trump supporters in a bid to prevent certification of Democrat Joe Biden's election victory.</p>

<p>Jason Van Tatenhove, a former member of the Oath Keepers, is expected to testify at Tuesday's televised hearing, which begins at 1:00 pm (1700 GMT) and is expected to last at least two hours. Five members of the Proud Boys were indicted on seditious conspiracy charges in June in connection with the assault on the Capitol. Eleven members of the Oath Keepers have also been charged with seditious conspiracy and three of them have pleaded guilty.</p>

Priti Patel’s plan to stop Channel crossings in shambles as navy is 'fed up'

The civic officials said that there were no reports of waterlogging in Mumbai. There is also a possibility of heavy showers in isolated places. On Saturday, i.e. July 9&nbsp;Vasmat taluka in the Hingoli district received heavy rains which resulted in flooding of the&nbsp;Asana river. Earlier 30 houses were also damaged in Palghar.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Mumbai is one of the worst affected cities. With waterlogged roads, closed subways, and traffic jams all over the city, the people are suffering a lot of problems.&nbsp;However, on Monday the officials said that as there were no reports of waterlogging, no public buses were diverted. The local train services were also running normally on Monday, even though they were delayed for the past few days due to heavy showers in the island city. According to a report by PTI, Mumbai recorded an average rainfall of 12.04 mm in the 24 hour-period till 8 am on Monday.&nbsp;While the IMD department and Mumbai Police are giving regular updates, people are also sharing videos and images on social media. Landslides were also reported in the Parvati valley resulting in the closure of the roads and traffic jams. The roads were covered with solid&nbsp;material and rocks and some were completely damaged.</p>

Earlier 30 houses were also damaged in Palghar. Mumbai is one of the worst affected cities. With waterlogged roads, closed subways, and traffic jams all over the city, the people are suffering a lot of problems. However, on Monday the officials said that as there were no reports of waterlogging, no public buses were diverted. The local train services were also running normally on Monday, even though they were delayed for the past few days due to heavy showers in the island city. According to a report by PTI, Mumbai recorded an average rainfall of 12.04 mm in the 24 hour-period till 8 am on Monday. While the IMD department and Mumbai Police are giving regular updates, people are also sharing videos and images on social media. Landslides were also reported in the Parvati valley resulting in the closure of the roads and traffic jams. The roads were covered with solid material and rocks and some were completely damaged. "It made me really excited to see what the possibilities were," he told AFP. He is now chief engineer of Delft Hyperloop, a non-profit university spin-off.</p>

<p>He now predicts the first city-to-city track within five years but won't divulge the location. Geddes is also optimistic about the future, though he also reflected that past promises weighed heavy. "We used to say five to 10 years," he said. "That was five years ago. Maybe it's five to 10 years now."</p>

Located 30 kilometres (20 miles) south of Mosul, Hamam al-Alil -- meaning the baths of the sick in Arabic -- built a solid reputation over decades with its therapeutic sulphurous waters. But the spa and surrounding village, which shares the same name, are now also known for massacres committed by IS during its occupation of the area.<br />

"I lost the people who were dearest to me," says Khaled, 21, sitting shirtless and in his underpants near the spa's circular pool, as reported by AFP.<br />

Like other parts of the Mosul area, the slow pace of reconstruction, five years after the jihadists were driven out, leaves locals frustrated. But last month's reopening of the baths, on the banks of the Tigris River, contributes to a return to normality, even if the scars of conflict remain. Khaled is now a masseur at the spa and bathes regularly. He says the sulphur-rich waters have cured him of an allergy and dermatological problems.</p>

After the defeat of IS in 2017, the baths remained popular although the building had fallen into disrepair, with chipped tiles and broken windows. In 2019, authorities undertook renovation work costing $500,000.&nbsp;<br />

In late 2016, months before being driven out of Mosul by the Iraqi army and a US-led international coalition, IS rounded up and executed hundreds of people.<br />

The jihadists "worked at night, they executed them and buried them with a bulldozer", explains Ahmed, the spa employee.<br />
