As reported by Reuters, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland said he would seek Caro Quintero's immediate extradition. Two unconscious soldiers, who were injured in the melee, were later admitted to Colombo National hospital and Colombo Army Hospital.

Explaining its decision to deploy the tanks, the Sri Lankan Army stated, “It has been unfortunately observed that a certain section of the protesters, purposefully deviating from its proclaimed 'non-violent' approach continued to breach law and order as of Wednesday (13) afternoon and resorted to violence by trying to place the Parliament complex as well as the Speaker's official residence under siege while destroying Police barricades through heavy machinery brought in there,”

Earlier, the Army had refused to obey acting president Ranil Wickremesinghe's order to use force on the protestors to quell the protests.

Dullas Alahapperuma, a prominent politician from the SLPP who has received support from some of his party's members, is the third front-runner and probable dark horse. According to SLPP MP Charitha Herath, the ruling party has roughly 117 votes that might be used to support a candidate like the 63-year-old former journalist and get him elected. She claimed that when she inquired about being filmed, the answer was "no." She added that she had given Pawluk the flowers. “I didn’t want to carry them home on the tram, to really be quite frank. But I wasn’t given that opportunity,” Maree added.

Woman felt 'dehumanised' after now viral TikTok video filmed without consent, here's why

In Lucknow's Kaiserbagh neighbourhood on Tuesday, retired teacher Sushila Tripathi was fatally attacked by an American Pit Bull Terrier that belonged to her family. &nbsp;While being transported to the hospital, the woman passed away from her wounds. The dog attacked the woman on Tuesday while she was at home with her domestic assistance, according to a police officer.

“She suffered several injuries after the dog attacked her while she was eating. She struggled to get the dog off her and the domestic help tried to intervene but to no avail,” said the official.

Amit Tripathi, Sushila's son, had taken the dog home. Amit is a fitness instructor who also owns a Labrador Retriever. Municipal Commissioner Singh said, “We have not been able to meet the woman’s family members yet. Our team visited the house but it was locked. We will investigate the incident further.”

The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) made an appeal to local people on Wednesday to "avoid keeping dangerous breeds of dogs as pets" a day after an 82-year-old woman was fatally attacked by her family's pet American Pit Bull Terrier dog.

Indrajeet Singh, the Lucknow Municipal Commissioner, urged citizens to choose "small and amiable dog breeds" as opposed to "threatening ones" in a statement.

If their behaviour changes, they should consult a nearby veterinary hospital. While keeping big breeds, they should be careful. Arrangements should be made for their food and stay according to their nature." The statement added that pet owners with bigger dogs should not bother them while they are eating their meals and that meat should be avoided in their meals.
