Four women were shot dead and one injured after a string of shootings rocked Tennessee in US. Hours later, the attacker was found dead — in what police believe — to be a “self-inflicted gunshot wound.”

The first shooting was reported from Howard Drive, Memphis, around 9.20 pm (local time) on Saturday in which a woman was killed.

In another shooting on Fieldlark Drive, a woman and 13-year-old girl were killed, while a 15-year-old girl was left in in critical condition, Memphis Police Department spokesman Christopher Williams said.

The third&nbsp;shooting, nearly 13 miles away on Warrington Road, left another woman dead, police said.

"Through the course of the investigation, it has been determined that this scene and two other recent shooting scenes are connected and involve the same suspect," the Memphis Police Department said.

<h2>Found dead due to self-inflicted wounds</h2>

Hours later, the suspect Mavis Christian Jr, 52 was found dead around 3.30 am on Sunday with a fatal gunshot wound following a manhunt, police said.

The wound appeared to be self-inflicted, police said.

Earlier, the police released Christian's photo, saying he may have been driving a white 2017 Chevrolet Malibu.

"If you see him or his vehicle, please call 911 immediately," police had said in an earlier press release.

"Do not approach or engage this individual, he is armed and extremely dangerous."

<h2>Police to start probe with domestic violence charge&nbsp;</h2>

Authorities have yet to identify the victims or provide information on how they’re related to the suspect.

Police said they are investigating the shootings as a domestic violence incident.

The footprint is believed to belong to Iguanodon— a three-toed bulky herbivore which was 36ft long and lived between 157 and 93 million years ago, around the Mesozoic Era, the Telegraph reported.

According to experts, the foot was imprinted when the area was covered in tropical forests and swamps. As a result, it fossilised over thousands of years and became easier to see after it filled with water during a rain shower.

Local media reports say that the region is known for its Jurassic coastline and is abound with dinosaur footprints. Every year, it attracts hundreds of fossil hunters from around the world.

It is thought that the rock originated from the nearby Isle of Purbeck peninsula, where dinosaur footprints have been found near the village of Langton Matravers.

Posting about the "exciting find" on social media, the National Trust said: "We believe that the rock may have come from the Isle of Purbeck, where you can already see many dinosaur footprints at Langton Matravers."

Former US president Donald Trump has filed for a mistrial in the New York state’s $250 million civil fraud lawsuit that threatens his business empire, claiming that the judge “tainted the proceedings”.

Trump’s attorneys filed a 30-page motion on Wednesday (Nov 15) in Manhattan Supreme Court, alleging that “the evidence of apparent and actual bias is tangible and overwhelming.”

Targeting the presiding Judge Arthur Engoron and his law clerk, who has been the subject of multiple complaints from Trump’s attorneys and the former president himself, the motion claims that they “tainted these proceedings” and that “only the grant of a mistrial can salvage what is left of the rule of law.”

Trump’s attorneys have claimed that the judge unfairly ruled against the former president, made “bias” comments during the trial and exceeded his discretion is working with his clerk, who has donated to organisations they allege are supporting New York Attorney General Letitia James and others that oppose Trump in excess of contribution limits.

<h2>'Judge tainted proceedings'&nbsp;</h2>

“In this case the evidence of apparent and actual bias is tangible and overwhelming. Such evidence, coupled with an unprecedented departure from standard judicial procedure, has tainted these proceedings and a mistrial is warranted,” Trump’s lawyers wrote in the motion.

Presently, a gag order by Judge Engoron bars Trump and his attorneys from making any statements about court staff and specifically about communications he has with his law clerk.

Trump has been fined twice for violating the gag order.

Reacting to the motion filed by Trump’s lawyers, the office of New York Attorney General Letitia James, who brought the sweeping fraud case, accused Trump of “trying to dismiss the truth and the facts” by throwing out the trial.

During the two-day parliamentary debate preceding the vote, the Spanish leader defended his move, arguing it was constitutional and necessary to "heal the wounds" opened by the wealthy northeastern region's independence push.

"We will guarantee the unity of Spain through dialogue and forgiveness," the 51-year-old said.

The amnesty scheme announced by Sanchez had triggered massive protests across the Spanish streets, with nightly protests that attracted far-right activists turning violent.

Before Thursday’s votes, protestors gathered around the parliament, some hurling eggs at Socialist politicians.

<h2>Two-day session centered around amnesty to&nbsp; Catalan separatists</h2>

During the debate, the opposition slammed Sanchez saying that the amnesty scheme was nothing but a political gamble adopted by him to remain in power and accused him of trampling on the rule of law.

From smearing dog excrement on his car to telling to “go home”, a Sikh businessman in Australia has claimed he had been subjected to racial slurs and threats over the past two to three months.

Jairnal Singh, who has been living in Hobart, Tasmania, for the past 15 years, said that he has been continuously targeted, and added that the constant barrage has shaken him.

"Never, ever has this happened to me before, and it's been continuous [over]&nbsp;the last two, three months," Singh, who runs a popular Indian restaurant Dawat – The Invitation', told ABC News on Wednesday (Nov 15).

The first incident happened a few months back when he found that his car handle was covered with dog poop. This happened for several days in a row.

<h2>Subjected to targeted racial attacks&nbsp;</h2>

Later, he found racist graffiti in his driveway, telling him to "go home, Indian".

Though he reported the matter to the police, lack of video evidence hampered the investigation.

The landlord then installed cameras at the property, which eased the situation a bit, but then threatening letters started to come.

Those letters were filled with racial slurs, however, Singh decided to ignore it after reporting to the police.

But subsequent letters contained even more offensive words than the previous ones. It included threats to damage his car, and also had comments like "you can **** off back to India", reports ABC News.

"It's mentally very stressful when it comes to your house, and particularly [being targeted]&nbsp;with your name on it," he was quoted as saying.

<h2>Local community comes forward, extends support&nbsp;</h2>

Singh found massive support from his customers and expressed his gratitude in a social media post.

"I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible support I have received in many ways, phone calls, messages, and personal visit to our restaurant just to check on me," he wrote.

"Thanks you so much everyone in Hobart your support, love and emotions shows that we all are together and there is no space for racism in our beautiful country."

<h2>Police say investigating&nbsp;</h2>

Following this, Tasmania Police Commander Jason Elmer put out a statement informing that they are investigating the incident.

British broadcaster BBC, which has increasingly come under attack for its Israel-Hamas coverage, has issued an apology after it erroneously claimed that Israel was targeting medical staff and Arabic speakers during its operation at Gaza’s Al-Shifa hospital.

A BBC news presenter&nbsp;misquoted a Reuters report twice on-air saying that Israeli forces have been “targeting people including medical teams as well as Arab speakers” in Gaza’s Al-Shifa hospital.

However, the Reuters report had mentioned that medical teams and Arabic speakers were part of the Israeli Defence Forces who had been sent into the hospital to assist patients and staff.

It quoted an IDF spokesperson saying, “Our medical teams and Arabic-speaking soldiers are on the ground to ensure that these supplies reach those in need.”

<h2>BBC issues apology&nbsp;</h2>

The BBC subsequently issued a clarification on its website and broadcast an on-air apology.

“As BBC News covered initial reports that Israeli forces had entered Gaza’s main hospital, we said that ‘medical teams and Arab speakers’ were being targeted,” the BBC said on its “Corrections and Clarifications” page online.

“This was incorrect and misquoted a Reuters report. We should have said IDF forces included medical teams and Arabic speakers for this operation. We apologise for this error, which fell below our usual editorial standards. The correct version of events was broadcast minutes later and we apologised for the mistake on air later in the morning.”

“Incidents like this make a mockery of the BBC’s oft-stated dedication to professionalism and impartiality.”

The minister made the remarks on Wednesday (Nov 15) on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in the US city of San Francisco.

Responding to a reporter’s question about whether the two countries would resume trade talks, Ng said, “Right now, the focus for Canada is to let the work of the investigation proceed.”

“You've heard me and the government talk about how important it is that investigation happens given that we had a Canadian killed on Canadian soil. So we'll let that happen."

<h2>Canadian minister says focus on investigation&nbsp;&nbsp;</h2>

The minister said that regardless of the pause in trade talks, the Canadian business community has been operating in India, and added that she would make sure that they have the required support they need, CBC News reported.

Ng said Canadian businesses continue to do business in India and her job as trade minister is to make sure they have the support and tools they need.

When asked if cooperation in the murder probe is a prerequisite to normalisation of ties between Canada and India, the minister clarified “no”.

“Our focus is of course on this investigation, that work has to take place. And for Canadian businesses, just to reassure them, because they expect that of their government, that the tools are available to them as they continue to do business and to invest and to make investments and attract investment, that the services of the Canadian government continue to be there for them.”

Even before Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau came out with explosive allegations about the “Indian government agents” role in the killing of Nijjar, the Early Progress Trade Agreement (EPTA) between India and Canada had been in limbo.

<h2>India-Canada trade talks in limbo</h2>

In September, days before Trudeau’s allegations, India's High Commissioner to Canada &nbsp;Sanjay Kumar Verma told The Canadian Press that trade talks had paused by Canada. He, however, did not give a complete explanation at that time.

Canadian minister says focus on investigation The minister said that regardless of the pause in trade talks, the Canadian business community has been operating in India, and added that she would make sure that they have the required support they need, CBC News reported. Ng said Canadian businesses continue to do business in India and her job as trade minister is to make sure they have the support and tools they need. When asked if cooperation in the murder probe is a prerequisite to normalisation of ties between Canada and India, the minister clarified “no”. “Our focus is of course on this investigation, that work has to take place. And for Canadian businesses, just to reassure them, because they expect that of their government, that the tools are available to them as they continue to do business and to invest and to make investments and attract investment, that the services of the Canadian government continue to be there for them.” Even before Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau came out with explosive allegations about the “Indian government agents” role in the killing of Nijjar, the Early Progress Trade Agreement (EPTA) between India and Canada had been in limbo. India-Canada trade talks in limbo In September, days before Trudeau’s allegations, India's High Commissioner to Canada Sanjay Kumar Verma told The Canadian Press that trade talks had paused by Canada. He, however, did not give a complete explanation at that time.
