US President Joe Biden was criticised by several users on social media after claims emerged that he has ordered the release of some 9/11 terrorists from the Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp in Cuba. According to American media reports, the multiple-vehicular crash led to hours-long manhunt which involved drones, rescue teams, and police officers searching a nearby neighbourhood.
The incident began around 2.35 pm local time near Eisenhower Avenue when state troopers responded to two crashes on the highway. As they started investigating, a third crash occurred nearby.&nbsp;

Citing officials, a report by Fox News affiliate Fox5 said that one of the vehicles involved in the third crash fled the scene. Less than a mile away, that same driver (involved in the third crash) crashed again, ending up in a ditch.

According to authorities, Caneza did not have a valid driver's license.&nbsp;

Rising inflation, housing unaffordability, and economic recovery post COVID-19 soon became a significant issue. As ratings fell, Conservatives led by Pierre Poilievre became the rising star. The sudden resignation of Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland in December 2024, due to disagreements over economic policy and handling of threats by incoming US President Donald Trump, was a critical blow. Freeland's departure was an internal vote of no confidence. Jagdeep Singh's NDP soon withdrew support and threatened to support no confidence motion. The writing was on the wall for Trudeau, once the star leader in the world, he became embattled Prime Minister of Canada.&nbsp;

A woman in Brazil has been arrested after she fed an arsenic-laced Christmas cake to her family, poisoning many relatives.
Police said that three women died and three other relatives fell ill after eating the cake during a family get-together on December 23 in the town of Torres.

Though the identity of the accused woman has not yet been revealed, Brazilian media reported that she was the daughter-in-law of the woman who prepared the cake.
Expert analyses found high levels of arsenic, a naturally occurring and extremely toxic element, in the victims' blood, the remaining slices of cake, and the flour used to bake it.

Forensic police director of the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul, Marguet Mittman, said on Monday that very high concentrations of arsenic were found in the three victims who died.
"To give an idea, 35 micrograms are enough to cause the death of a person. In one of the victims there was a concentration 350 times higher," Mittman said.
<h2>'Cake had a spicy and unpleasant flavour'</h2>
Addressing a press conference, the police official in charge of the investigation, Marcos Veloso said that there was strong evidence incriminating the accused woman who was arrested.
Veloso said the family members had noticed a "spicy" and "unpleasant" flavour in the cake. The woman who baked the cake asked them to stop eating it, but it was too late.
As for the motive behind poisoning the cake, the police official pointed out that the family had a "very harmonious" relationship but with long-standing differences that could explain the origin of the crime.
