"On the morning (Yemen time) of November 23, the USS Thomas Hudner (DDG 116) shot down multiple one-way attack drones launched from Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen," stated CENTCOM, on social media platform X. "The ship and crew sustained no damage or injury," it added. 
 
The Houthis have stated that they are part of an "axis of resistance" of the allies and proxies of Iran retaliating against Israel's war with Hamas. 
 
The Israel-Hamas war has increased the spectre of a broader Middle East conflagration, as the frontier between Israel and Lebanon also witnessing near-daily exchanges of fire. 
 
A series of drones and missiles have been launched by the Houthis in Yemen towards Israel since the Israel-Hamas war started on October 7.

"We will continue to carry out military operations until the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank stops," he further said.

<h2>Houthis threaten to target Israeli shipping</h2>

The Houthis have further threatened that they will be targeting Israeli shipping and on Sunday stated that the Galaxy Leader, which is an Israel-linked cargo vessel and its 25 international crew, was seized at the Red Sea's entrance. 
 
Israel's military stated that the seizure was a "very grave incident of global consequence", and a US military official said it was "a flagrant violation of international law". 
 
Israel and Hamas on Wednesday (Nov 22) stated that they have agreed on a four-day ceasefire during which a prisoner and hostage swap will be carried out.

Seldowitz was hired by the firm last year as its foreign affairs chair.

He had served as the acting director for the National Security Council South Asia Directorate in the Obama administration.&nbsp;

From 1999 to 2003, he was also the deputy director/senior political officer in the US State Department’s Office of Israel and Palestinian Affairs.&nbsp;

<h2>Seldowitz’s remarks</h2>

In the video, Seldowitz starts off by saying that the Egyptian intelligence agency will get hold of the cart vendor’s parents and torture them.&nbsp;

“The Mukhabarat wants your picture. The Mukhabarat in Egypt will get your parents. Does your father like his fingernails? They’ll take them out one by one,” said the former advisor, in one of the videos, while the man he’s addressing repeatedly tells him to leave and says he doesn’t speak English.&nbsp;

He was also seen mocking Islam and accusing the 24-year-old employee of supporting the Palestinian militant group Hamas amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas war. “You support killing little children,” Seldowitz could be heard telling the vendor in one of the videos.&nbsp;

<h2>‘I do regret’</h2>

In a telephonic interview with The New York Times, on Tuesday (Nov 21), Seldowitz said he had not seen the videos but added that the incident began with him asking the vendor if he was Egyptian.

Subsequently, as the conversation progressed the 24-year-old expressed support for Hamas, Seldowitz told the NYT.&nbsp;

“At that point, I got rather upset and I’ve said things to him, that in retrospect, I probably regret, though – that I do regret,” said Seldowitz.

He also went on to admit saying that instead of focusing on him and his remarks he&nbsp;“expanded into insulting his religion and so on.”

Hamas said in a statement that it "strongly denounces" the arrest of Salmiya and his colleagues. The group called on the International Committee of the Red Cross and other international organisations to work towards their "immediate release".&nbsp;

Last week, Salmiya told the news agency that he had received the evacuation order from Israeli forces after having refused a previous one. However, the Israeli Army stated that the evacuations were carried out at the "request" of Abu Salmiya.&nbsp;

The head of the United Nations children's agency UNICEF said on Wednesday that the Gaza Strip is the "most dangerous place in the world to be a child".&nbsp;

UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell told the UN Security Council that more than 5,300 Palestinian children had reportedly been killed since Oct 7.&nbsp;

"The true cost of this latest war in Palestine and Israel will be measured in children's lives – those lost to the violence and those forever changed by it. Without an end to the fighting and full humanitarian access, the cost will continue to grow exponentially," Russell said at a council briefing on women and children there.&nbsp;

Russell said: "The Gaza Strip is the most dangerous place in the world to be a child. In Gaza, the effects of the violence perpetrated on children have been catastrophic, indiscriminate and disproportionate."&nbsp;

Shani Gabay, a 25-year-old Israeli woman&nbsp;who was missing since an unprecedented attack by Palestine-based militant group Hamas on October 7, was found dead by Israeli authorities, local media reported.&nbsp;

The PM, speaking to our diplomatic correspondent Sidhant Sibal said that "we specialise in deep sea fishing. I think we could help in collaboration with India, both when it comes to export and import, but also I think both the Faroe Islands we have, we have a lot of companies which are specialised to build vessels".

When asked about Arctic cooperation with India, he said that "with the new sail route, the Faroe Islands can be a hub for many of the vessels, so we can kind of give them services". During India's visit, he had a meeting with External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar.

WION: How do you characterise the relationship between India and the Faroe Islands? 
Aksel Vilhelmson Johannesen: It's my first time here in India and it's very nice to be here. It's an outstanding country, India. In the past cooperation between Faroe Islands and India has not been that much, but hopefully, that will change now. That's why I am here in India. I think we could have cooperation in many areas. For example, when it comes to fishery, it has been the main industry in the Faroe Islands for more than one hundred years. And it's also a huge industry here in India. Also, aquaculture is a huge industry in the Faroe Islands as well as in India. Also, when it comes to IT, I think we could a cooperate between Faroe Islands and India and also when it comes to tourism, the Faroe Islands have been big in the last couple of years, it has been a destination, which has been very, very popular.&nbsp;

WION: Faroe Islands might be territorially small, but they have a large oceanic area and territory. And fishing is something that you have really mastered, and this is something that India will keen to get as well in terms of collaboration. If you can talk about this kind of collaboration between India and Faroe Islands in terms of fishing. 
Aksel Vilhelmson Johannesen: Faroe Islands are very tiny, small islands with few inhabitants. But we are calling ourselves as a large ocean nation because we do have a lot of sea and we are, I will say after more than 100 years of fishing, we are specialized in deep sea fishing. I think we could help in collaboration with India, both when it comes to export and import, but also I think both the Faroe Islands we have, we have a lot of companies which are specialised to build vessels and other stuff which the fishing industry needs. And also I know that some of our companies are buying trolls and other things here in India.

WION: Tourism I mean, this is a region where Indians will be keen to go. So if you can talk about the tourism potential for the Indian tourists to travel to Faroe Islands and obviously people from your region as well travelling to India.&nbsp; 
Aksel Vilhelmson Johannesen: Yes. I think it was very interesting to travel to India. It's an astounding country. And when it comes to the Faroe Islands. It's a small and tiny island and it's in the middle of nowhere. So, it's very, very quiet, there and it's very clean there. So, as I told you, in the past, Faroe Islands have been a very popular destination. Because I think people like to visit our place where it is very quiet and clean and with no stress. So Indian people are very welcome to visit the islands.

WION: But my last question to you is the Arctic cooperation that we have seen Indian interest in the Arctic, so how do you see the Indian presence and what can Faroe Island do in terms of collaborating with India in that part of the planet?&nbsp; 
Aksel Vilhelmson Johannesen: Of course, for the Faroe Islands it is a part of Arctic and for us, it's important first of all, that the Arctic will be a low-tension area, but also with the new sail route, the Faroe Islands can be a hub for many of the vessels, so we can kind of give them services. But also, when it comes to climate change, I think it could be interesting with a collaboration between India and Faroe Islands.

WION: And do you expect a high-level visit from Faroe Island? 
Aksel Vilhelmson Johannesen: Yes, I have invited some of the ministers to the Faroe Islands for example, the Minister of fisheries here in India and other ministers are also welcome to visit the Faroe Islands.
