<p>The latest strikes conducted by the US and UK were against "eight Houthi targets in Yemen in response to the Houthis' continued attacks against international and commercial shipping as well as naval vessels transiting the Red Sea," said Washington and London, in a joint statement with other nations which supported the military action.</p>

<p>In 2022, the man suspected of his wife’s murder, Jose Lazaro Cruz, 60, was arrested in Costa Rica and brought back to Fairfax County, Virginia, earlier this month, ending the 32-year-old case.</p>

<h2><strong>About the case</strong></h2>

<p>On April 30, 1991, the police responded to a call about the stabbing and found Ana Jurado, 24, dead in the street, said Eli Cory, Fairfax County’s deputy chief of investigation. She is said to have suffered a slashing wound to her neck and bled to death, according to the police.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Jurado was the mother of three at the time of her death. Her three-year-old and seven-month-old daughters lived with her in the US while her four-year-old son lived in El Salvador.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>‘Not a typical cold case’</strong></h2>

<p>Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis, as per CNN, said this case is not a “traditional cold case” as Lazaro Cruz was identified right away, he was just “on the lam.”</p>

<p>The suspected murderer then managed to evade authorities and travelled to Houston, Texas, from where he is believed to have been smuggled out of the United States with the help of a smuggler, eventually ending up in El Salvador.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, at the time, El Salvador did not have any mechanisms or policies in place which would allow Lazaro Cruz’s extradition. It was not until 2000, that the country’s constitution was amended, which allowed extradition of Salvadoran nationals.</p>

<p>In 2022, the US Justice Department said that Lazaro Cruz had been detained by Costa Rican authorities while trying to enter their country from Nicaragua.&nbsp;</p>

Canberra announced first-of-its-kind sanctions which include a travel ban and financial penalties.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In late 2022, Medibank, Australia’s largest private health insurer, disclosed that a hacker had stolen the personal information of 9.7 million current and former customers, and released the data on the dark web.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The files published online included sensitive information about millions of Australians, including abortion records and treatment received for mental health or addiction.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Indonesian Bali bomber Ali Imron is reportedly seeking a presidential pardon as he said that he is now feeling "tired". Imron was given a life sentence for his role in the 2002 Bali bombing — a terrorist attack which killed 202 people.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The 54-year-old Imron has spent 21 years in prison. Now he wants to be released so that he can work on deradicalisation projects across Indonesia.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While speaking to the South China Morning Post (SCMP),&nbsp;Imron said that he hopes for a pardon from Indonesian President Joko Widodo.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I don't want to be released purely for personal reasons. I want to be free so that I can work on deradicalisation programmes across Indonesia. From a personal point of view, I am better off inside where there is no risk to my life," Imron told SCMP in the interaction which was published on January 19.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In a statement, Vice President Sara Duterte echoed the position long held by her father that foreigners should not be allowed to meddle in the country's affairs, adding she will refuse to be a part of a process that would put shame the country's courts and judicial system.</p>

<p>"Allowing the ICC to conduct its probe in our country, in brazen violation of the constitution, is an absolute surrender of our birthright as a sovereign nation," Salvador Panelo, Duterte's former presidential spokesperson, said in a message.</p>

Touching this man, a very real one, is believed to cleanse a person of his sins and bring good luck for a year.</p>

<p>Now, a group of 40 women said that they will take part.</p>

<p>A local newspaper Yomiuri quoted Ayaka Suzuki, a local woman who said she wanted to take part in the celebrations since she was very young.</p>
