What made India join the SCO?
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization was formed in 2001 after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.The grouping includes Russia, China, India, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. The SCO has focused on regional security and counter-terrorism among other key focus areas.
