The US House of Representatives has rejected a resolution aimed at limiting President Donald Trump’s authority to continue military action against Iran. The measure failed in a 219–212 vote, allowing Trump’s decision to strike Iran to clear another congressional hurdle.
The resolution sought to require the president to obtain formal congressional approval for further hostilities against Iran. It was introduced by lawmakers from both parties who argued Congress should assert its constitutional authority over decisions to go to war.
