Russia says Iran has not requested military assistance despite the escalating conflict in the Middle East. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said there has been no request from Tehran for Russian arms or direct military support.
However, a report by The Washington Post, citing U.S. officials familiar with intelligence assessments, claims that Russia has been providing Iran with targeting information about U.S. military assets in the region. The information reportedly includes the locations of American warships and aircraft operating in the Middle East.
The report suggests the intelligence sharing could help Iran respond to U.S. and Israeli military operations, though officials say there is no evidence that Russia is directly directing Iranian attacks.
The developments highlight growing geopolitical tensions as the Iran war draws in major global powers and raises concerns about wider international involvement.
