Iran has said it will not reopen the Strait of Hormuz as long as the United States maintains its naval blockade on Iranian ports and shipping. Tehran called the blockade a violation of ceasefire understandings and linked any reopening of the key global oil route to the lifting of economic and maritime pressure.
