US-Iran War: Iran Says 104 Killed In Attack On IRIS Dena

Iran has confirmed that 104 sailors were killed and 32 wounded after the Iranian navy frigate IRIS Dena was struck by a U.S. submarine in the Indian Ocean near the coast of Galle, according to Iranian military officials. The wounded sailors are receiving treatment in hospitals in Sri Lanka following rescue operations by Sri Lankan naval forces.
Tehran condemned the strike as “inhuman”, saying the attack represents a major escalation in the ongoing confrontation between Iran and the United States. The warship had reportedly been carrying about 180 crew members when it was torpedoed, marking one of the deadliest naval losses for Iran in recent years and a dramatic expansion of the conflict beyond the Middle East into the Indian Ocean region.
