An Indian sailor has been killed after an attack on the oil tanker MKD Vyom in the Gulf, as tensions continue to escalate across key shipping routes in the region. The vessel was reportedly struck by a naval drone, triggering an explosion and fire in the ship’s engine room.
The attack occurred near Oman amid a surge in strikes on commercial shipping linked to the ongoing regional conflict. Authorities say the crew was forced to respond to the fire and damage following the blast.
Across multiple incidents in the Gulf tied to the conflict, reports indicate that at least three Indian seafarers have been killed in attacks on merchant vessels operating in the region.
