Sri Lanka has allowed a Chinese naval vessel to dock in its waters, despite the ongoing ban on foreign research vessels. The timing of it is raising questions if this is a coincidence or a worrying sign for India. The development comes just days after India’s External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar met new Sri Lankan president Anura Kumara Dissanayake in Colombo.
