North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was seen firing handguns during a visit to a munitions factory, according to state media reports. Photographs released by state outlets showed Kim testing pistols at the facility as part of an inspection of weapons production.
Kim was accompanied by his daughter Kim Ju-ae, who has increasingly appeared alongside him at military and defence events. The visit reportedly focused on evaluating weapons manufacturing and testing small arms produced at the factory.
The appearance of Ju-ae during the inspection has once again drawn attention to her growing public role in North Korea’s leadership circle.
