New York: Extreme flooding prompts residents to evacuate, kills one

Heavy rainfall in New York sparked extreme flooding and triggered landslides in Hudson Valley and killed at least one. It also swamped roadways and forced road closures on Sunday night. The national weather service issued flash flood warnings across parts of south eastern New York, describing it as "life-threatening". Residents in various parts of the city were forced to evacuate and relocate.
