Man who crossed into North Korea ‘defected to South in 2020,’ South Korea conducts search ops
Authorities in Seoul have now claimed that the person who crossed the heavily fortified border last week is presumed to be a North Korean who had previously defected to the south. The rare defection was confirmed by South Korea's joint chief of staff after they carried out a search operation for the South Korean in the heavily fortified region.
