At least eight people were killed and around 20 others injured during violent pro-Iran protests outside the United States consulate in Karachi, Pakistan, after hundreds of demonstrators tried to storm the diplomatic mission. The unrest followed U.S. and Israeli strikes that killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Local rescue officials said most of the dead had bullet wounds as police used force to disperse the crowd.
