The Indian rupee has crashed to a lifetime low, sliding past the 89.5 mark against the U.S. dollar. The decline has been fuelled by subdued risk appetite and uncertainty surrounding the U.S.–India trade impasse. With this sharp fall, the rupee now stands among the weakest major Asian currencies.
