India To Continue Talks With U.S., Iran On Chabahar Port Operation

India has reaffirmed its commitment to continue discussions with both the United States and Iran on operating the strategic Chabahar port, dismissing reports that it plans to shut down operations due to U.S. sanctions. The Ministry of External Affairs clarified that the U.S. sanctions waiver remains valid until April 26. The issue has gained urgency after President Donald Trump announced new tariffs targeting countries trading with Iran, placing India’s investments and regional connectivity plans under renewed scrutiny.
