India: Rain lashes Tamil Nadu, classes suspended

Heavy rainfall is lashing large parts of Tamil Nadu today, prompting authorities to shut schools in several districts. The India Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert, and disaster response teams are on standby. Due to persistent downpours, the Tamil Nadu government has declared a holiday for schools in multiple districts.
