Bangladesh: Pre-election temperatures rise
Political violence in Bangladesh is on its way up as the opposition staged massive protests against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her government. Violent clashes broke out between cops and protesters. The opposition is demanding that PM Hasina step down on charges of human rights abuses and election rigging. Demands have also arisen for a neutral caretaker government to take the country through general elections less than 3 months away.
