Pakistan Army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir has taken on the role of Chief of Defence Forces, making him the principal military adviser to the prime minister and federal cabinet on defence and security matters. The move follows Pakistan’s 27th Constitutional Amendment, which reshaped the country’s military command structure.
