AI: Spain Moves to Curb AI Deepfakes and Tighten Image Consent Rules

Spain’s cabinet has approved draft legislation to crack down on AI deepfakes and strengthen consent rules on the use of images. The bill raises protections for children, sets 16 as the minimum age for consent to use one’s image and limits the reuse of online photos, voices and AI generated likenesses without permission, as the European Union steps up efforts to regulate deepfake abuse.
