Afghanistan Hit by 5.9 Magnitude Quake, North India Feels Strong Tremors

A 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck Afghanistan’s Hindu Kush region, sending strong tremors across parts of North India, including Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana, and Jammu & Kashmir. The quake occurred at a depth of around 150 km, according to seismic authorities, and was felt widely across the region, prompting residents to step outdoors as a precaution. There were no immediate reports of major damage in India, though the tremor highlighted the region’s vulnerability to seismic activity originating in the Afghanistan-Tajikistan belt.
