Pakistan’s federal government has officially banned the hardline group Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) following violent protests and deadly riots across Punjab. The decision, pushed by the provincial government, marks one of the toughest actions against religious extremism in recent years. The move came after TLP’s “Gaza solidarity” march turned violent, prompting Islamabad to tighten its stance on radical groups.
