On Tuesday morning, the numbers for the record-breaking $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot were drawn after a 10-hour delay. The amount for the prize increased after updated calculations and the drawing was delayed until 8:57 am EST (7:27 pm IST). The numbers were drawn in a Florida Lottery draw studio where the white ball numbers were, 10, 33, 41, 47 and 56, while the red Powerball was 10. Meanwhile, the players have to wait for the next few hours to find out who, if anyone, has won the lottery this time around.

The calculations until Monday amounted to a $1.9 billion Powerball drawing which was to take place on Monday night but was delayed as a participating lottery needed more time to process its sales. Therefore, the official results were not be known until Tuesday, said the Multi-State Lottery Association in a statement to the Associated Press.

“Powerball requires all 48 participating lotteries to submit their sales and play data prior to the winning numbers being selected. Once Powerball receives the outstanding submission, the drawing can proceed,” the lottery said. Furthermore, the association also said that it is against their policy to name the lottery that is facing the delay.

According to reports, only four jackpots have crossed the $1 billion mark, none of which have come close to the current amount, which first began earlier this year in August with $20 million. Over the last three months, the amount has grown after several draws as no winners were announced.

The United States will fund the refurbishment of T-72 tanks and HAWK surface-to-air missiles as part of a roughly $400 million security assistance package for Ukraine, the Pentagon announced Friday.

Air defence and armour capabilities are both high on the list of assistance desired by Ukraine, but the T-72s fall short of the most modern tanks such as German Leopards or US Abrams that have been sought by Kyiv.

"The tanks are coming from the Czech Republic defence industry, and the United States is paying for 45 of those to be refurbished, and the government of the Netherlands is matching our commitment for a total of 90 T-72s," Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh told journalists.

The T-72s -- a Soviet-era tank -- will be equipped with "advanced optics, communications and armor packages," with some ready by the end of December and the rest to be delivered in 2023, she said.

Asked why more modern tanks were not being provided, Singh cited factors including ease of use and cost.

"These are tanks that the Ukrainians know how to use on the battlefield," she said, adding that "introducing a new main battle tank is extremely costly, is time sensitive, and it would be a huge undertaking for the Ukrainian forces."

The assistance package also funds the refurbishment of HAWK missiles from US inventories -- an important asset as Ukraine seeks to counter Russian drone and missile strikes targeting its cities and energy infrastructure.

The United States will fund the refurbishment of T-72 tanks and HAWK surface-to-air missiles as part of a roughly $400 million security assistance package for Ukraine, the Pentagon announced Friday.
