US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has taken action by designating 28 individuals and entities connected to the "international proliferation of illicit drugs", including the said China-based drug network.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Those designated by OFAC are also engaged in the global trafficking of highly potent substances like xylazine and "nitazenes," often mixed with illicit fentanyl or other drugs, the statement added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Deputy Secretary of the Treasury, Wally Adeyemo, while highlighting the decisive action being taken, said, “Treasury is taking sweeping action with our colleagues in law enforcement to expose and disrupt a network responsible for manufacturing and distributing illicit drugs, including fentanyl and other substances that take thousands of American lives each year."&nbsp;</p>

<p>The action was taken with the help of various agencies, including the Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigations, and Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the Department of Homeland Security’s US Customs and Border Protection agency.</p>

<p>"Just as Iran hasn't prevented us from achieving the Abraham Accords, Iran will also not prevent us from expanding the circle of peace for the benefit of the citizens of Israel, the people of the region and all of humanity."</p>

<p>Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said in an interview recently that a deal on relations with Israel was getting closer by the day and that Netanyahu and US President Joe Biden held a long-awaited meeting on the matter.</p>

<p>Last month, the Israeli foreign minister said that a framework US-brokered deal for ties between Israel and Saudi Arabia may be in place by next year.</p>

<p>If ties between Israel and Saudi Arabia normalise, it will result in a dramatic change in West Asia as it will bring both countries together along with the US with which both have strong ties. This may put Iran in an interesting position.</p>
