UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has hit out against his party MPs for suggesting that deputy Labour leader Angela Rayner used ‘Basic Instinct’ tactics to distract him in the parliament.

“As much as I disagree with Angela Rayner on almost every political issue, I respect her as a parliamentarian and deplore the misogyny directed at her anonymously today,” Johnson’s critical tweet came on Sunday, with some UK media reports suggesting&nbsp;that he was forced to respond.

The Mail on Sunday claimed that some unnamed Conservative MPs passed incendiary remarks that Rayner "crosses and uncrosses" her legs at Prime Minister's Questions to throw him off.

According to BBC, which has cited a minister, the Tory MPs who suggested that Rayner mimicked Sharon&nbsp;Stone in the 'Basic Instincts' movie could face "serious consequences" if they were identified.

Technology minister Chris Philp told the BBC that he expected the Conservative Party to "identify who was responsible for those views", but he expressed doubts whether the Mail would reveal who made those comments, given "journalists fiercely guard their sources".

Meanwhile, Rayner, while responding to Johnson’s tweet, came down heavily on the Tory MPs accusing them of trying to “intimidate” her with the “sexist” comments.

As per media reports, Queen Elizabeth II has agreed to help Andrew settle the case by "personally making a £2million donation to Giuffre's charity".&nbsp;

Now, Andy McDonald, who is a British Labour politician and Member of Parliament for Middlesbrough has said that he would raise the issue next week when MPs return to Westminster after their half-term break.&nbsp;

McDonald said that he is going to take the opportunity to raise the issue in parliament because "the issue isn't going to go away" until people have that "information and receive assurances" that public money is not going to be used to settle the settlement.&nbsp;

The settlement states that UK's Prince Andrew, the Duke of York will make a "substantial donation" to a charity established by Giuffre that supports sex trafficking victims.&nbsp;

It also means Andrew, 61, will no longer be questioned under oath by Giuffre's lawyers, who had been due to travel to London next month.&nbsp;

The Chinese embassy in London has denied these accusations. "We have no need and never seek to 'buy influence' in any foreign parliament" and we never attempted to do so, said the embassy.

"We firmly oppose the trick of smearing and intimidation against the Chinese community in the UK," it added.

The security notice said that Lee had "knowingly engaged in political interference activities on behalf of the United Front Work Department of the Chinese Communist Party".

According to reports, the London-based solicitor donated £200,000 ($275,000, 239,000 euros) to former Labour shadow cabinet member Barry Gardiner, along with hundreds of thousands of pounds to his party.

Gardiner said Christine Lee's son was formerly his diary manager but resigned on Thursday.

He said that all donations were properly reported and any suggestions of shady money were unrelated to his office and that he has been liaising with intelligence services "for a number of years" about her.

"I say, as a member of parliament who has been sanctioned by the Chinese government, that this is a matter of grave concern," he said.

He questioned why she had not been deported and called for parliament to tighten the accreditation process, which he asserted was too lenient.

British interior minister Priti Patel told reporters that Lee's behaviour did not meet the criminal threshold for prosecution. However, by issuing the alert the government was able to alert lawmakers regarding Lee's attempts to improperly influence them, she added.

The fact that a Chinese Communist Party member was targeting legislators was "deeply concerning," Patel said.

The British spy agency MI5 sent out a warning and an image of a person named Christine Lee on Thursday, alleging she was "involved in political interference activities" in the United Kingdom on behalf of the Chinese Communist Party.

It comes as no surprise that this has raised a number of concerns among British lawmakers. Now, the question that arises is: who is Christine Lee, what are the exact allegations against her and how did she obtain access to carry out the alleged "nefarious" activities?&nbsp;

Who is Christine Lee?

Christine Ching Kui Lee is the founder of a law firm, Christine Lee &amp; Co, which has offices in London and Birmingham. On its website, the law firm lists one of its roles as "Legal Advisor to the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the UK and Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Belfast".

What are the exact allegations against Christine Lee?

The spy agency alleged it had found that Lee "has facilitated financial donations to serving and aspiring parliamentarians on behalf of foreign nationals based in Hong Kong and China".&nbsp;

According to the MI5's alert, Ms Lee claimed her involvement with Parliament was to represent Chinese in the UK and to increase diversity.

However, MI5 said that the activities had been executed in covert coordination with the United Front Work Department (of the CCP), with funding coming from foreign nationals based in China and Hong Kong.

It is alleged that UFWD is trying to cultivate relationships with "influential figures" to ensure the UK political landscape favours the CCP, and to counter those that raise concerns about the party, such as human rights concerns.

She had "extensive engagement" with individuals across the political spectrum in the UK, including the now-dissolved All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG), Chinese in Britain, according to the security service.

In their warning, MI5 said said Lee might aspire to establish APPGs in order to further the CCP's agenda.

According to MI5, the former Labour candidate for shadow cabinet, Barry Gardiner, received £200,000 ($275,000, 239,000 euros)&nbsp;from the London based solicitor.&nbsp;

“It may be that we now need to broaden the range of sniffer dogs … to include those which can detect drugs,” The Times cited Conservative MP Charles Walker as saying.

Sniffer dogs have previously been deployed in the House of Commons to detect explosives.

The places tested with drug use in the sweep are only accessible to those with a parliamentary pass, or visitors allowed in who have to be accompanied around the building by the person they are meeting.

This follows outrage at efforts last week to overhaul parliament's internal disciplinary process which would have prevented the 30-day suspension of a Tory MP found to have committed an "egregious" breach of lobbying rules.

Johnson abandoned the unprecedented move within 24 hours which prompted the lawmaker, Owen Paterson to resign from parliament. This threw spotlight on allegations around MPs' behaviour.

It also prompted an extraordinary broadside from former Conservative prime minister John Major, who called the episode "shameful" and "had the effect of trashing the reputation of parliament".

Despite the growing crisis, Johnson was in northeast England Monday to see hospital staff receive Covid-19 boosters and flu jabs, in what he called "a longstanding engagement".

His spokesman noted he would make the roughly 600-mile (965-kilometre) round-trip by train -- days after being heavily criticised for flying by private jet from the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow to attend a private London dinner with former colleagues at the Daily Telegraph newspaper.

The spokesman said Steve Barclay, a minister with direct responsibility over standards in public life, would represent the government in parliament and was "the right person to take this forward".

"What we do need to do is look also at the process, and that is what we were trying to do last week," Johnson said during a brief media appearance at the hospital, insisting he would now focus on a cross-party approach to reforms.&nbsp;
