The United Kingdom last month claimed that the government has secured new free trade deals with over 70 countries since 2016 (since Brexit). In a Twitter post, politician Michael Gove also claimed via an infographic that the trade is over £800bn worth of new free trade.

Great Britain to mini Britain!

Analysis of House of Commons library data has found that the political crisis in Britain could cost the taxpayer up to £709,000 in severance payments to former ministers and whips, UK-based media outlet Sky News reported.

Rishi Sunak on Tuesday (October 25) become the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom after a prolonged political crisis gripped the nation ever since reports emerged that multiple COVID-19 breaching parties were held at Downing Street when such gatherings were banned across the country.

Since the start of this year, 79 government ministers and whips have either resigned or been fired. But regardless of how long they worked in the office, 71 of them are probably eligible for payouts averaging more than £10,000. Two are reportedly returning the funds in full or in part.

UK foreign secretary to arrive in India on Friday: 'India is a natural partner for the UK in the Indo-Pacific'

In a BBC broadcast, a word cloud on new UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak included foul and swear words to describe the Indian-origin premier. The clip of the same went viral online.

On Tuesday, Sunak was appointed as the prime minister by the British monarch King Charles III as he scripted history by becoming the first British-Asian to hold the post. A practising Hindu, the 42-year-old Sunak is the nation's youngest leader since 1812.

But there are certainly mixed opinions on Sunak becoming the UK prime minister—some racist remarks have also been made. A video of a British radio show is going viral in which a caller is explaining why a non-white person becoming the PM of the UK is not good.

The caller said: "Can you imagine me becoming the Prime Minister of Pakistan? People of England would like to see someone who looks like them."

Now, this gaffe by UK's national broadcaster is quite concerning. In the word cloud, BBC missed some swear words when they appeared on TV screens during its coverage of Downing Street developments.

The word cloud, which was created by polling research company Savanta ComRes, contained the words "rich", "capable", "okay", "good", "clever", etc. But some swear words were also displayed.

Mr Sunak was referred to as a "c**t" and "t**t", but the graphic censored part of the word.

Apart from some positive words like "smart", "intelligent", "safe" and "strong", the word cloud also had words like "boring", "slimy", "idiot", "backstabbing" and "liar".

The ongoing Russia-Ukraine war has "destabilised energy markets and supply chains the world over," he added.

After becoming the new prime minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak on Tuesday (October 25) promised to fix the errors made by his predecessor Liz Truss. As the nation continues to face economic crisis amid looming recession fears, Sunak warned of "difficult" decisions ahead. "I will place economic stability and confidence at the heart of this government's agenda. This will mean difficult decisions to come. But you saw me during Covid doing everything I could to protect people and business with schemes like furlough," Sunak said while speaking on the steps of Downing Street. Sunak said that it is only "right to explain why I’m standing here as your new Prime Minister" and noted that the country is "facing a profound economic crisis" as the impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) still lingers. The ongoing Russia-Ukraine war has "destabilised energy markets and supply chains the world over," he added.
