BCCI outlines plans for launch of ‘Tier 2’ tournament similar to IPL in 2024

International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Tuesday that it has, on behalf of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB), charged eight players and officials for breaching different counts of the ECB Anti-Corruption Code for Participants for the T10 League.

"The International Cricket Council (ICC), on behalf of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB), has charged eight players and officials for breaching different counts of the ECB Anti-Corruption Code for Participants for the T10 League," said a statement from ICC.

The charges relate to the 2021 Abu Dhabi T10 Cricket League and attempts to corrupt matches in that tournament – these attempts were disrupted. The ICC was appointed by the ECB as the Designated Anti-Corruption Official (DACO) for the purposes of the ECB’s Code for this tournament and as such issuing these charges on the ECB’s behalf.

The charges are:

-Krishan Kumar Chaudhary (co-owner of a team):

Article 2.4.5 – Failing to disclose to the DACO (without unnecessary delay) full details of any incident, fact, or matter that comes to the attention of a Participant that may evidence Corrupt Conduct under the Anti-Corruption Code by another Participant.

Article 2.4.6 – Failing or refusing, without compelling justification, to cooperate with any investigation carried out by the DACO in relation to possible Corrupt Conduct under the Code.

Article 2.4.7 – Obstructing or delaying a DACO investigation into possible Corrupt Conduct under the Code.

T Ten Sports Management said they take all allegations of this nature seriously and have a zero-tolerance policy for any kind of corruption.

"We will continue to work closely with the ICC on our calendar of T10 tournaments and do everything within our control to ensure the integrity of cricket is upheld," said T Ten Sports Management&nbsp; said in a statement.

He further emphasised his point and said,&nbsp;"For a batter, it’s very difficult for them to hit when the ball is swinging, if you’ll ask a batter he’ll agree with the same. One should go with his basic skills when the ball is getting swing and should take chances for at least one to two over."

T10 League: This format can move to an Olympic Sport, says Faf du Plessis

Former England wicket-keeper batter Sarah Taylor has become the first woman coach in men's professional franchise cricket after she was named assistant coach of Team Abu Dhabi for the Abu Dhabi T10 league beginning November 19.

Widely regarded as one of the best ever wicket-keepers, Taylor became the first woman specialist coach at a men's county side with Sussex in the United Kingdom.

She now builds on that by again treading a new path with Team Abu Dhabi, and Taylor hopes that her involvement with the T10 league will inspire women all over the world.

"Coming into this franchise world, you get players and coaches coming in from all around the world where it may not necessarily be the norm," said Taylor.

"But I'd love to think that some young girl or some woman watching can see me in the coaching team and realise that's an opportunity and they can push for it, saying ?If she can do it, why can't I?"

After making her debut in 2006, the 32-year-old Taylor played in 10 Tests, 126 ODIs and 90 T20Is before announcing her international retirement in 2019. She returned to professional cricket this summer to feature in The Hundred and the 2021 Women's Twenty20 Cup in the U.K.

She is hoping that other women follow his path and emulate her.

I do hope that it becomes a little more normal and I may be the first but I won't be the last. Coaching is my passion and it's kind of going down the men's routem, which is really exciting.

I've never had issues in male environments and I enjoy the challenge. You always want to prove that you're good enough, but that's the same for any coach going into a new environment.

Taylor, who won two ICC Women's World Cups, the ICC Women's T20 World Cup and represented England 226 times over the course of a stellar playing career, will serve as assistant to head coach Paul Farbrace.

Team Abu Dhabi has secured the services of former South Africa all-rounder Lance Klusener, who is currently head coach of the Afghanistan team playing at the T20 World Cup.

As well as continuing to work with Sussex, Taylor also coaches at Bede's School in the same county.

While she remains open to more playing opportunities, Taylor turned down a playing gig this winter in order to work with Team Abu Dhabi and she is looking forward to being able to pick the brains of the likes of Farbrace and Klusener.

It came completely out of the blue and it was an amazing surprise. I've been counting down the days until I can get to Abu Dhabi and get going.

"I cannot wait. As soon as I found out who the staff was, that made it even more exciting and it was a lightbulb moment that I would be stupid to miss out on the opportunity. I've got so much to learn, they've probably got so much to tell me and I'm very much going to be a sponge. I'll have to be."

He said, "In the past, it might have been (difficult to gel up quickly)&nbsp;but nowadays there’s so much franchise cricket that gets played, there are many&nbsp;big tournaments that get played nowadays so the players do interact a lot with each other."

David Weise has shown confidence in the players and his team. He stated, "It could be difficult coming into a team, just for two weeks and having to gel, but fortunate for us everybody in the team is good guys, we all get on well."

“T20 game has evolved from a hitting game to a strategical game,” said Yusuf Pathan during virtual media conference.

When asked about the differences between T20 and T10 game, Pathan stated, “It’s the same game played with bat and ball. Only the number of overs and time will be lessened. Earlier the shortest format was T20, now it’s T10. At end of the day, it’s just cricket.”

On being questioned about the way to go in T10s, the former Indian all-rounder said, “The faster you adapt the strategy for game and wicket, the more successful you ought to become. This game is about which player can handle the pressure and who adapts faster according it.”

“One can’t just go out there and hit boundaries just because it’s a T10 game. There are 60 balls and you need to go with strategy”, he added.

If he is looking to bat at a particular batting position during the Abu Dhabi T10, Pathan revealed in this aspect, "I have played at a number of batting positions during my career and I have always adapted to the team`s needs. The T10 format suits my game. However, my batting position will depend on the team`s strategies. I have always been open to batting at any position for the team."

His team Maratha Arabians on October 9th had tweeted, “All-rounder @iamyusufpathan has been snapped up by Maratha Arabians for T10 League in season 5. Champions are back.”
