The voter lists contain 45.81 crore names, which accounts for a 10.2 per cent reduction. Based on the EC's data, a total of 66,88,636 deceased voters were removed from electoral rolls, mostly from Uttar Pradesh, as many as 25.47 lakh.

The final electoral roll in Tamil Nadu was published on Monday (February 23, 2026) following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). 

The District Election Officers (Collectors) released the numbers in their respective districts in the morning. Later, Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik held a press conference in the afternoon at Chennai during which she said there are 5,67,07,380 electors across the State, as per the final electoral roll. This includes 2,77,38,925 men, 2,89,60,838 women and 7,617 third gender voters.
