The stories may or may not have logic, but Tiger rises above the story and his character -to show off his skill set (that may not include acting) much to the delight of his fans. In his latest release 'Baaghi 3', Tiger takes on a country alone, with Riteish Deshmukh and Shraddha Kapoor as his cheerleaders.&nbsp;</p>

<p>If one has to use a single word to define 'Baaghi 3' it would have to be 'Extra'. Everything in the film- from the screenplay to dialogues, to the plot to the performances- goes overboard. The background score is jarring to the point of you going deaf and the story so mindless that you end up laughing out loud at it.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Adapted from a Telugu hit'Vineya Vidhaya Rama' by producer Sajid Nadiadwala, 'Baaghi 3' &nbsp;is a love story of two brothers Vikram and Ronnie. Vikram (Riteish Deshmukh), the elder one, is weak and nincompoop who calls for younger brother Ronnie to rescue him from every situation that requires him to fight back. Let's just say Ronnie is his personal goon who protects him from all evils. Despite being a chicken, Vikram lands a job in the police force and whenever he is sent to nab criminals, Ronnie jumps in to rescue his brother and fight the goons. That seems to be Ronnie's chosen profession- to get into brawls for his brother. Best way to stay fit, I guess!</p>

<p>Vikram gets promoted and then sent to Syria to bust a nexus of human trafficking which involves a local goon IPL ( Jaideep Ahlawat) and get back his countrymen. He goes alone and obviously gets kidnapped by Abu Jalal's men. Abu Jalal runs a terror outfit in Syria and claims to rule the country. Now a man-child like Vikram should ideally not be left alone- but its a Tiger Shroff film and there's no logic to the story. As his brother goes missing, Ronnie along with Siya (Shraddha Kapoor) goes to Syria (city not specified) in search of Vikram. The rest of the film has Tiger Shroff flexing his muscles, running in slo-mo, screaming in exasperation and bashing up the bad guys- in that order.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Illogical plot line, poor acting and cringe-worthy dialogues make the film a tedious watch. Actors like Jaideep Ahlawat, Vijay Verma are wasted in a big-budget actioner which only concentrates on showing off Tiger Shroff's talent in martial arts. The writers' pit Tiger against an entire country! Yes, a country. At one point a sidekick comes running to Abu Jalal to inform that an unknown enemy has infiltrated one of their checkpoints. Abu Jalal wonders out loud- 'Who could it be? America? Russia? The Mossad?" and then the camera pans slowly to Tiger Shroff's straight face. Get it?&nbsp;</p>

<p>One wonders what came upon Riteish Deshmukh to have agreed to play such a character. You wait patiently to understand why his character is shown as vulnerable but no explanation is given.&nbsp;</p>

<p>There are two women in the film as well. Shraddha Kapoor and Ankita Lokhande. Kapoor's character is shown to be potty-mouthed who uses bizarre alliterations while abusing. In her opening shot, the camera first pans at her legs, then her waist and then top her face. This is 2020, and Bollywood still thinks to depict a woman as liberated - she has to be foul-mouthed, aggressive and glamorous. Lokhande, meanwhile, plays Deshmukh's wife and has a total of four scenes.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Jackie Shroff, Satish Kaushik also have cameo roles but leave no lasting impression.&nbsp;</p>

<p>'Baaghi 3' ultimately is the story of a brother taking on a country and terrorism, in general, all for the love of his brother. Moral of the story: familial love can wipe out terrorism from the world. If only our leaders had watched 'Baaghi 3'.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the season of flu and epidemics, best to avoid movie theatres and 'Baaghi 3'.&nbsp;</p>

There are two women in the film as well. Shraddha Kapoor and Ankita Lokhande. Kapoor's character is shown to be potty-mouthed who uses bizarre alliterations while abusing. In her opening shot, the camera first pans at her legs, then her waist and then top her face. This is 2020, and Bollywood still thinks to depict a woman as liberated - she has to be foul-mouthed, aggressive and glamorous. Lokhande, meanwhile, plays Deshmukh's wife and has a total of four scenes. Jackie Shroff, Satish Kaushik also have cameo roles but leave no lasting impression. 'Baaghi 3' ultimately is the story of a brother taking on a country and terrorism, in general, all for the love of his brother. Moral of the story: familial love can wipe out terrorism from the world. If only our leaders had watched 'Baaghi 3'. In the season of flu and epidemics, best to avoid movie theatres and 'Baaghi 3'.

<p>Writer, director Sujeeth has taken the 'Baahubali' tag attached to actor Prabhas' name a bit too seriously. The duo's new film, 'Saaho' may be set in present times, but Sujeeth creates a make-believe world where Prabhas is unbeatable.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In 'Saaho', Prabhas fights a python, a panther, skydives from tall skyscrapers without gear and in one scene leaps and chases crashing helicopter mid-air(again without gear) and survives every single time. Saaho&nbsp;is the new age superhero in the world of goons, gamblers, and mobsters.&nbsp;</p>

<p>At the onset, the film holds a lot of promise. A story of two gangs fighting each other to gain the top seat and full control of a make-believe city called Waji (basically Dubai), after big boss Roy (Jackie Shroff) is killed in a staged accident, the story slowly loses its plot with too many twists in the story.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The film begins with an elaborate bank robbery where the accused are not even aware that they have committed a crime. Much like us the audience, the baffled Mumbai police then hires its top officer Ashok Chakravarthy (Prabhas) to crack the case. Along with police officer Amrita (Shraddha Kapoor), Ashok has to first identify the thief, nab him and understand the bigger underworld nexus that is involved in the case.&nbsp;</p>

<p>High on style and action, the film's narrative is punctured ever so often with twists which stop exciting you after a point. The director barely gives the audience any time to grasp a plot twist before he introduces a new one- making the film a jumbled, convoluted story that has only one agenda- to make Prabhas look like a modern-day 'Baahubali' complete with charm, wit and of course brawn.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the garb of making a stylised action thriller, the makers completely lose focus on logic and a coherent storyline. Sure, it's great to see slick action sequences, and refreshing to watch Prabhas in a contemporary character but the sheen wears off after a point of time. You want to be patient while watching this film, you indulge in the numerous twists to a point but the film completely loses its plot (literally) an hour before the climax.&nbsp;</p>

Instead, its a series of unexplained plot points, strewn loosely into a narrative. There are so many unanswered questions in the film. Why does the camera take so many shots of the women's waist? How do Prabhas and Shraddha fall in love? Why does Prabhas, with a very strong southern accent&nbsp;break into Punjabi rap in the middle of a dessert? Why does he have to be shirtless while skydiving? Why are there giants from beyond the wall from 'Game Of Thrones' after Prabhas' life? Why are they dressed in fur in the middle of the desert and using primitive tools when several bazookas are lying around? Why didn't the writer think this through?&nbsp;</p>

<p>Chunky Panday tries to be the cold-hearted villain and succeeds to an extent, Mandira Bedi shows off her handloom saree collection, Mahesh Majrekar is there too - as the bad guy but I'm not sure who he is exactly. Then there's Neil Nitin Mukesh who gives an earnest performance in a limited role. Most actors are there to just fill up the supporting roles, but they don't have much to do. Its a Prabhas show all the way.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Leading lady Shraddha Kapoor is given a few stunts to perform but ultimately is left as a pawn in the bigger game. She tries to act tough, fumbles ever so often and is ultimately saved by our hero every time.&nbsp;<br />

'Saaho' review: Keep the bottle of aspirin handy

<p>Bollywood has churned out campus-stories since time immemorial. Campus-dramas, sports-dramas set in campuses, college-romances are just some of the themes that have been explored by the makers. &nbsp;Most of these films paint a rather rosy picture of the regular college life- complete with romance, over the top classrooms and campuses, a lot of life-changing moments, drama and almost always nothing on actual education.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Nitesh Tiwari's latest film 'Chhichhore' has the usual tropes of a typical commercial college-drama, yet it is refreshingly real and delivers a very relevant message beautifully wrapped in nostalgia.</p>

<p>To save his son, Raghav, who has lost the zeal to live after failing the IIT-JEE entrance exams, Anirudh aka Anni (Sushant Singh Rajput) goes back in time to narrate stories from his college life. Both he and his wife Maya (Shraddha Kapoor) are former students of a premier engineering college and as their son, Raghav thinks he has failed them and himself by not qualifying to any of the colleges. Anni then decides to revisit his own college life and with the help of his buddies from the hostel, recounts the time the group had competed for a General Championship in sports back in their times. He co-story tellers, Sexa (Varun Sharma), Acid (Navin Polishetty), Derek (Tahir Raj Bhasin), Mummy (Tushar Pandey) and Saharsh Shukla (Bevda) re-tell the story and take Raghav and the the audience back in 1992 where the boys, the underdogs, fight it out with reigning champs of Hostel 3- lead by Reggie(Prateik Babbar) for the GC trophy.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Much like 'Student Of The Year 2' which released earlier this year, the concentration is solely on the sports championship. But unlike SOTY, the backdrop is far more real and thereby relatable. The friends of Anni maybe stereotypical- one is a porn addict, the other is cusses a bit too much and one is a Mumma's boy- but at so many instances you would find yourself laughing at the uncanny similarity that each of these characters has with people you know in reality.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Written by Tiwari along with Piyush Gupta and Nikhil Malhotra, the film is spruced with humour and wit which may ever so often steer towards underpants, yet provides the laughter. &nbsp;The narrative is non-linear, keeps oscillating between past and present but you will find yourself reminiscing about the good old days with Anni and his gang of 'losers'. The only time that the story slips is at the points where the friends, sitting at Anni's apartment speak jargons about the education system, parental pressure, and rat race. It feels preachy and not a conversation between old friends and those scenes are perhaps the only unrealistic and melodramatic scenes in the film.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The film's best moments are saved for Polishetty and Sharma, who get the best lines and are pitch-perfect in their respective roles. Bhasin as the silent sports hero is also impressive and so is Panday as the ever nervous Mumma's boy. Rajput delivers a balanced performance- he is usually genuine in most of his films and he doesn't disappoint in this one either. His scenes in the flashback where he plays the college fresher full of ideas though suffers from a Shah Rukh Khan hangover. Shraddha Kapoor gets fewer lines but is convincing as the quiet, observant Maya.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Wrapped in nostalgia, the film delivers an important point that there's no point being in a rat race. A line in the song 'Fikar Not' from the film suggests that one can sprint to the end line or finish it at the pace of a tortoise- the pace is not important neither should one rush to finish it on time. &nbsp;It is more important to be earnest in what you do.&nbsp;</p>

<p>'Chhichhore' of course takes multiple liberties - especially in scenes that are shot in the hospital (no hospital allows five people to be hovering around a patient in the ICU), but those flaws are pardonable simply because it delivers an important point and takes you back to college life- a time that most people believe is the best phase of their lives.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Watch it for the actors and their onscreen camaraderie, watch it for its nostalgia.&nbsp;</p>


Bollywood has churned out campus-stories since time immemorial. Campus-dramas, sports-dramas set in campuses, college-romances are just some of the themes that have been explored by the makers.

Most of these films paint a rather rosy picture of the regular college life- complete with romance, over the top classrooms and campuses, a lot of life-changing moments, drama and almost always nothing on actual education. Nitesh Tiwari's latest film 'Chhichhore' has the usual tropes of a typical commercial college-drama, yet it is refreshingly real and delivers a very relevant message beautifully wrapped in nostalgia. To save his son, Raghav, who has lost the zeal to live after failing the IIT-JEE entrance exams, Anirudh aka Anni (Sushant Singh Rajput) goes back in time to narrate stories from his college life. Both he and his wife Maya (Shraddha Kapoor) are former students of a premier engineering college and as their son, Raghav thinks he has failed them and himself by not qualifying to any of the colleges. Anni then decides to revisit his own college life and with the help of his buddies from the hostel, recounts the time the group had competed for a General Championship in sports back in their times. He co-story tellers, Sexa (Varun Sharma), Acid (Navin Polishetty), Derek (Tahir Raj Bhasin), Mummy (Tushar Pandey) and Saharsh Shukla (Bevda) re-tell the story and take Raghav and the the audience back in 1992 where the boys, the underdogs, fight it out with reigning champs of Hostel 3- lead by Reggie(Prateik Babbar) for the GC trophy. Much like 'Student Of The Year 2' which released earlier this year, the concentration is solely on the sports championship. But unlike SOTY, the backdrop is far more real and thereby relatable. The friends of Anni maybe stereotypical- one is a porn addict, the other is cusses a bit too much and one is a Mumma's boy- but at so many instances you would find yourself laughing at the uncanny similarity that each of these characters has with people you know in reality. Written by Tiwari along with Piyush Gupta and Nikhil Malhotra, the film is spruced with humour and wit which may ever so often steer towards underpants, yet provides the laughter. The narrative is non-linear, keeps oscillating between past and present but you will find yourself reminiscing about the good old days with Anni and his gang of 'losers'. The only time that the story slips is at the points where the friends, sitting at Anni's apartment speak jargons about the education system, parental pressure, and rat race. It feels preachy and not a conversation between old friends and those scenes are perhaps the only unrealistic and melodramatic scenes in the film. The film's best moments are saved for Polishetty and Sharma, who get the best lines and are pitch-perfect in their respective roles. Bhasin as the silent sports hero is also impressive and so is Panday as the ever nervous Mumma's boy. Rajput delivers a balanced performance- he is usually genuine in most of his films and he doesn't disappoint in this one either. His scenes in the flashback where he plays the college fresher full of ideas though suffers from a Shah Rukh Khan hangover. Shraddha Kapoor gets fewer lines but is convincing as the quiet, observant Maya. Wrapped in nostalgia, the film delivers an important point that there's no point being in a rat race. A line in the song 'Fikar Not' from the film suggests that one can sprint to the end line or finish it at the pace of a tortoise- the pace is not important neither should one rush to finish it on time. It is more important to be earnest in what you do. 'Chhichhore' of course takes multiple liberties - especially in scenes that are shot in the hospital (no hospital allows five people to be hovering around a patient in the ICU), but those flaws are pardonable simply because it delivers an important point and takes you back to college life- a time that most people believe is the best phase of their lives. Watch it for the actors and their onscreen camaraderie, watch it for its nostalgia.

Divided into two groups representing the two warring nations- India and Pakistan- the two groups are at loggerheads and keep clashing on streets (of London), dance floors, restaurants and have dance-offs. A motley group of youngsters, they seem to all come from affluent families where nobody has to bother about jobs and earning a livelihood and pursue a passion of dancing and indulge in dance-offs to put down each other.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A part of D'Souza's ABCD franchise, 'Street Dancer 3D' too has a dance competition at its backdrop. Sehej( Varun Dhawan) wants to win the biggest dance battle- Ground Zero- for his elder brother who at one point of time was close to winning the coveted trophy but suffered an accident that left him with a limp. Now, Sehej and his group called the 'Street Dancer' want to win the prize for the big brother. They need practice and are aware that the rival gang - The Rule Breakers- a group of Pakistani youngsters led by Inayat (Shraddha Kapoor) are better than them.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The two gangs often clash in a restaurant that's managed by Anna (Prabhudeva) who himself feels that if the two groups work together, they can win the competition. Inayat's purpose of winning the competition is different from Sehej's though. She wants to use the prize money to help illegal immigrants of Indian and Pakistan go back home. Would she be able to convince Sehej to join her group for a greater good and be able to win the competition forms the rest of the story.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Now, on paper, the story seems to be well-intended- a tale of a group of talented dancers wanting to bring positive change to society through dance. Sure, why not! But when it comes to implementation, D'Souza films take a very different route where the main plot seems like a prop of a very elaborate, long dance program.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A film that's called 'Sreet Dancer' is bound to be about dance, no doubt. You know what you are getting into when you start watching the film. Like his previous films, D'Souza uses a lot of reality TV dancers as characters in the film- giving the choreographed sequences an authentic feel but after a point, the thrill of seeing of these dancers do multiple backflips, and some unimaginable limb movements- wears off making the dance routines appear repetitive.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Released on the Republic Day weekend- it also tries to pelt out patriotism through dance- pitting India and Pakistan against each other, using the Indian tricolour in the final dance-off and making everyone dance to desi tunes.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Acting and logic are not the high points of this film. A film on ultimate dance competition- the rules are fluid where anyone can join any group at any point in time. The competition runs on emotions and not logic.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Among the actors, Nora Fatehi and Aparshakti Khurrana who show some spark in a story that doesn't give anyone any scope for acting. But these two actors still manage to make their presence felt-which is commendable. Khurana, who is now almost the go-to person for all supporting characters in Hindi films- brings the right amount of vulnerability to his character. Fatehi plays Varun Dhawan's girlfriend and adds the much-needed oomph to the film and the dance sequences. An exceptionally good dancer, Fatehi gets a few lines and manages to impress in those scenes.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Varun Dhawan tries earnestly to perform in the film that resorts to dance sequences for everything but we've seen better films of the actor. He may be a good dancer but that alone cannot salvage this film. Shraddha Kapoor and Prabhudeva deliver what they have already done in previous films.</p>

<p>Titled ‘Street Dancer 3D’, the trailer promises a lot of dance obviously, some rehash of old popular numbers with beats and crackling chemistry between the two leading stars Shraddha Kapoor and Varun Dhawan. Oh, it also has Nora Fatehi in a scintillating dance number and she proves that she is rightfully everyone’s favourite when it comes to dance songs off late.</p>

<p>The trailer of the film starts with a face-off between two teams of two nationalities. No points for guessing, India and Pakistan as the two dance teams promise to become number 1 at an international competition. The Indian team is led by Varun while Pakistani team has Shraddha. There is also Prabhudeva who returns with some punchy dialogues.</p>

Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor are back together in film from the ‘Street Dancer’ franchise and the trailer that released today looks like a lot of fun. See posters here. Titled ‘Street Dancer 3D’, the trailer promises a lot of dance obviously, some rehash of old popular numbers with beats and crackling chemistry between the two leading stars Shraddha Kapoor and Varun Dhawan. Oh, it also has Nora Fatehi in a scintillating dance number and she proves that she is rightfully everyone’s favourite when it comes to dance songs off late. The trailer of the film starts with a face-off between two teams of two nationalities. No points for guessing, India and Pakistan as the two dance teams promise to become number 1 at an international competition. The Indian team is led by Varun while Pakistani team has Shraddha. There is also Prabhudeva who returns with some punchy dialogues. The film raked in a total of Rs 102.19 crore, trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared on his Twitter account. The film earned Rs 5.34 crore on its second Friday and saw a major jump on second Sunday, earning Rs. 10.47 crore. The film collected Rs 4.02 crore and Rs 4.11 crore on Monday and Tuesday, respectively, to hit the 100 crore mark.</p>

She said, “Actually, pehle plan thi ki education aur college khatam karungi, phir acting mein aaungi. Lekin bohot impatient ho gayi main. Wapas aa gayi toh offers aane lage. Auditions ke offers, film offers nahi. Toh mujhe laga ki chalo, drop out karti hoon.”&nbsp;</p>

<p>She went on to add that she is not giving anyone advice and everyone should do what they want in life.</p>

<p>When Sushant was asked about his college days, he said, “Achcha student tha main, Delhi College of Engineering mein padta tha. Lekin main first semester mein hostel se nikaal diya gaya. Humare college mein rule tha ki 7 baje ke baad agar aaoge hostel mein, toh entry nahi milti.” Sushant had completed three years of the four-year course.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As the date for the release of his next film comes closer, actor Prabhas took to his social media to thank all filmmakers and actors who had to adjust to the <a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/prabhas-shraddha-kapoor-starrer-saaho-to-now-release-on-this-date-236705">date shift</a> of his film ‘Saaho’ on August 30 instead of 15 of the same month.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He wrote, &nbsp;“A big thank you to all actors, producers and directors of the films who have had to reschedule their release dates to accommodate Saaho. Team Saaho is grateful to all of you, and we wish you the very best for your releases.”</p>

<p>‘Saaho’ is touted to be one of the biggest films of the year with a lot of money riding on it. Reportedly made on a budget of Rs 350 crore, the film has already earned all its input money from the sale of its theatrical rights. This, even though the satellite rights and OTT platforms rights are yet to be sold.&nbsp;</p>
