The attacks have caused concerns about the impact on the passage of oil, grain and other goods on what is an important global trade route, and have pushed up the cost of insuring and shipping goods through the Red Sea.

Soon after the latest attacks, London's insurance market widened the area in the Red Sea it deems as high risk.

Taiwan's Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation said it would divert any of its ships sailing through the Red Sea or Gulf of Aden via the Cape of Good Hope for the next two weeks.

Norway-based oil tanker group Frontline said its vessels would also start avoiding passages through the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

"War risk insurance premiums are on the rise naturally, but as vessels gets re-routed around Africa shipping supply will be tighter as cargoes travel longer. That would put rates under a strong upwards pressure," CEO Lars Barstad told Reuters.

The announcement followed decisions by two major freight firms including MSC, the world's biggest container shipping line, to&nbsp;avoid&nbsp;the Suez Canal in response to the attacks by Houthi forces, which control most of Yemen, a poor Arab state.

The Suez Canal shipping route, which leads to the Red Sea, is a vital waterway for global trade, used to transport energy and other goods between Europe and Asia, and elsewhere. The route saves on time and expense by avoiding having to navigate around the entire Africa continent.

Confirming Monday's attack on the Swan Atlantic, US&nbsp;officials told Reuters multiple projectiles had been launched from Houthi-controlled territory in Yemen.

Inventor Chemical Tankers had no Israeli ties, Elgan said.

The vessel's operator, Uni-Tankers, said the attack had caused a small fire which the crew brought under control, and that the ship, carrying vegetable oils, continued to Reunion Island.

A British maritime authority said it had received a report of a vessel that "experienced an explosion" on its port side in an attack 24 nautical miles north west of Yemen's Mokha port.

The vessel and crew were reported safe, it said in an advisory. The incident described by the UKMTO advisory was similar to those of the attack on the Swan Atlantic.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) authority said in a separate advisory it had received a report of a vessel 24 nautical miles southeast of Mokha as being approached by a craft with several armed personnel onboard.

Warning shots were fired from the vessel and the craft with the armed personnel on board changed course, the advisory said.

The UKMTO authority said in other advisories it had received reports of an incident 63 nautical miles northwest of Djibouti and another incident in the vicinity of the Bab Al Mandab strait, 30 nautical miles south of the port Mokha.

The Houthis have pledged to continue their attacks until Israel stops its assault, but said on Saturday that real steps to ease the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip would contribute to "reducing the escalation". Tanker linked to Israel seized off Yemeni coast in 3rd such attack amid Hamas war

An Israeli billionaire-owned container ship was attacked in the Indian Ocean by drones suspected to have been launched by Iran.

On Friday, CMA CGM’s ship Symi came under the attack of a triangle-shaped, bomb-carrying Shahed-136 drone while in international waters, an American defence official told AP news agency.

Though the vessel suffered damages, there were no injuries to the crew.

“We continue to monitor the situation closely,” the official was quoted as saying.

The news was later confirmed by Al-Mayadeen, a pan-Arab satellite channel that is politically allied with the Iranian-backed Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah.

According to The Times of Israel, the damage caused to the ship was minimal.

It reported that the ship had no ties with Israel as Symi is leased to CMA CGM by Singapore-based Eastern Pacific Shipping, which is a company ultimately controlled by Israeli billionaire Idan Ofer.

“The attack is likely to have been targeted, due to the vessel’s Israeli affiliation through Eastern Pacific Shipping,” the private intelligence firm Ambrey told the AP.

“The vessel’s AIS transmissions were off days prior to the event, indicating this alone does not prevent an attack.”

A statement issued on behalf of Eastern Pacific acknowledged the company being "aware of claims that a container ship under the company's management was targeted in a possible security incident overnight on Friday."

"The vessel in question is currently sailing as planned," the statement said. "All crew are safe and well."

On Saturday, the British military's United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations, which provides warnings to sailors in the Middle East, sounded alert and asked operating companies to exercise action, after "an entity declaring itself to be the Yemeni authorities" had ordered at least one ship away from a location off Hodeida, Yemen, in the Red Sea.

"Vessels in the vicinity are advised to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity," it warned.

Iranian-backed militias in Iraq also have attacked American troops in both Iraq and Syria during the war, but Iran itself has yet to be linked directly to an attack.

<h2>Concerns by India, US&nbsp;</h2>

Indian foreign minister S Jaishankar earlier expressed concerns over China's growing naval presence in the Indian Ocean.&nbsp;

In September, Jaishankar at an event said, "Last 20 -25 years, there has been a steady increase in the Chinese naval presence and activity in the Indian Ocean, but there has been a very sharp increase in the size of Chinese naval. When you have a very much bigger navy, that navy is going to be visible in terms of its deployment somewhere.”

Even US Under Secretary Victoria Nuland while meeting Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ali Sabry in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session flagged concerns over Shi Yan 6.

China is already infamous for its alleged spying activities overseas. Shi Yan 6 was given permission to dock at Colombo port for replenishment purposes till October 28.&nbsp;

"Shi Yan 6 was given permission to enter the (Colombo) port for replenishment," the Sri Lankan foreign ministry spokesperson&nbsp;Kapila Fonseka reportedly&nbsp;said.

A major fire broke out on a cargo vessel carrying around 3,000 vehicles off the Dutch coast on Wednesday (July 26), killing one crew member, believed to be an Indian citizen, and injuring others.

Dutch broadcaster NOS said that all the crew, 23 in total, were Indian. Except for the lone casualty, all were safely evacuated.

The 199-metre Panama-registered Fremantle Highway caught fire on Tuesday (July 25) when it was sailing in the North Sea, some 27 kilometres north of Ameland, The Netherlands. It was headed from Germany to Egypt.

The Dutch Kustwacht (Coast Guard) received a distress call around midnight after the crew member’s attempt to extinguish the fire was unsuccessful.

Rescue ships sprayed water onto the burning boat to cool it down, but using too much water risked its sinking, the Dutch coastguard said, reports Reuters news agency.

A salvage vessel was hooked on to stop it from drifting.

<h2>'Vessel can still burn for days'</h2>

Officials said that the vessel "could still burn for days" even though its sinking may not pose any major environmental risk.

"The fire is most definitely still not controlled. It's a very hard fire to extinguish, possibly because of the cargo the ship was transporting," said Edwin Versteeg, a spokesperson for the Dutch Department of Waterways and Public Works.

Though the exact cause of fire is yet to be ascertained, Dutch public broadcaster NOS citing a coast guard official reported that one of the 25 electric cars onboard caught fire, and subsequently engulfed all the cars.

Around 350 of the total 2,857 vehicles on the ship on board were Mercedes-Benz cars, the company said.

The ship was still burning some 27 nautical miles (50 kilometres) north of the Dutch island of Ameland — located close to a major environmental and UNESCO heritage site

"The crew tried to put out the fire themselves&nbsp;but failed. Unfortunately, one person died and several others were injured," the&nbsp;coast guard said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Embassy in the Netherlands said that it is in touch with the family members of the crew, and simultaneously coordinating with the Dutch authorities for all possible assistance.

“We are deeply saddened by the incident involving Ship ‘Fremantle Highway’ in North Sea, resulting in the death of an Indian seafarer &amp; injuries to the crew. Embassy of India is in touch with family of the deceased &amp; is assisting in repatriation of the mortal remains,” it posted on social media platform X, previously known as Twitter.

Embassy is also in touch with the remaining 20 injured crew members, who are safe and receiving medical attention. All possible assistance is being extended in coordination with the Dutch authorities and the shipping company.”

He also said that the Coast Guard is in touch with the families of the five people who died in the implosion and that investigators are "taking all precautions on site if we are to encounter any human remains."

Talking to reporters US Coast Guard Rear Admiral John Mauger declined to share details about the cost of the search and rescue operation, reports BBC.

However, he reportedly said that it was not a policy to charge for search and rescue. He added that the service does not put a cost on human life or rescue people in the "dangerous environment" of the ocean, adding "we always answer the call".

"We conduct disciplined operations with warranted risk to put our resources and lives at risk to save others. That's who we are."

Locals gathered near Battery Lookout's cannon in St John's at 08:00 (11:30 BST) to witness the return of the Polar Prince, and as some passengers disembarked, investigators, donning hard hats and high-visibility jackets, boarded the vessel.

Serving as the support ship for the Titan, the Polar Prince had previously towed the submersible to the North Atlantic location where the dive took place, approximately 400 miles away from St John's.

The canal authorities, in a statement, said that they got the information about an engine malfunction and hence, the tugboats were deployed to successfully refloat the ship. They added that the process was delayed briefly because of the failure of the winch of the ship.&nbsp;

The authority stated that "shipping activity in both directions would return to normal as soon as the towing process is finished, as a precautionary measure".&nbsp;

<h2>Ship gets grounded in Suez Canal</h2>

In a previous tweet, Leth had informed that the ship was grounded in the Suez Canal at 4 a.m. local time, disrupting at least two convoys of ships.

“M/V XIN HAI TONG 23 has grounded in the Suez Canal at KM 159/0400 hrs,” says Leth Agencies in a tweet, adding it was “leaving behind 4 vessels from the early convoy in addition to the ordinary group which was planned to enter Suez Canal at about 0600 hrs”.&nbsp;

According to the Marine Traffic ship tracker and Refinitiv data, the ship, which was sailing under the Hong Kong flag, as “not under command” near the canal's southern end, positioned itself at an angle next to the eastern side of the canal.&nbsp;

In the tracker, three Egyptian tugboats were seen surrounding the vessel.

The ship had started sailing from Saudi Arabia's Duba port. The ship is owned by Xiang B12 HK International Ship Lease and Tosco Keymax International Ship Management is managing it.&nbsp;

An Amphibious Assault ship of the Indian Navy, INS Magar's primary role has been that of an expeditionary warfare unit, which can carry eleven battle tanks, thirteen BMP infantry fighting vehicles, ten trucks, eight heavy motor vehicles, and more than 200 troops in various configurations.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, as part of 'Operation Samudra Setu' the ship was tasked with evacuating Indian Nationals and providing medical relief to friendly foreign countries. The ship was deployed to Male, Maldives, and safely evacuated 202 Indians including 24 women, two expectant mothers, and two children.

On Friday, the ship’s master, Marko Snajdar also issued an apology to the passengers, acknowledging the situation and saying that immediately after they arrive, “A member of our customer relations team will contact you with an adjusted offer of compensation.”&nbsp;&nbsp;

Meanwhile, some&nbsp;passengers took to Twitter&nbsp;to voice their complaints, "Shame on&nbsp; @VikingCruises&nbsp;for their negligence. They have now cancelled 3 of our 8 ports, including all of prime South New Zealand &amp; Hobart," said one user on Tuesday.&nbsp;He added, "A dirty &amp; biohazard ship bottom. After 2 years of waiting, Viking disappoints. Great food but poor ship hygiene. Buyer beware."&nbsp;

Additionally, a representative from Viking Cruises said that the ship will sail for Melbourne on Sunday and move forward with its itinerary as planned by Monday, reported the AAP.&nbsp;

Addressing the biofoul found on the ship’s hull, the representative in an emailed statement told AAP, "a limited amount of standard marine growth is being cleaned from the ship’s hull" and&nbsp;that they are “working directly with passengers” to compensate them for the “impact to their voyage.”

The bodies of six crew members of a Thai warship that sank off the nation's southeast coast have been recovered, the Navy said on Tuesday.
