He may be a superstar for his fans and critics alike but as per actor Shah Rukh Khan, there are moments in his life when he feels like a "loser", something that only pushes him to work harder.

"I feel like a loser over everything. I was with Aamir Khan the other day. And he asked me 'Why are you like this, Shah? Why do you think this way?' I got to know after talking that he was also thinking the same way. He wasn't asking me out of surprise, he wanted to know the answers for himself," Shah Rukh said on Friday at the trailer launch of his upcoming film "Zero".

The 53-year-old superstar believes it is "always important to have lack of over confidence".

"Over confidence is worse than feeling like a loser. I feel I work harder when I think I am not good enough. I always feel I'm not good enough. I sometimes joke that I don't know how to dance, I've five expressions but I genuinely believe them, that I'm not good at everything, so I've to work harder," he said.

Shah Rukh plays the role of a vertically-challenged person in Aanand L Rai's film, which is set to be released on December 21.

He said when he was shooting for the film there were moments of doubts which he believes every creative person experiences.

"All of us had moments where we used to wonder if this is right, should we do this or not? There are so many issues actors and stars have, me the most. I'm insecure at times, overconfident at times, happy and extremely sad at times.

"I'm happy with what I've done and I am happier and even sadder what I shouldn't have done and what has gone out of my hands, what is coming to my hands and all these things come together and make you feel loved when you do the right film."

When asked how he deals with stress in his life, Shah Rukh said stress and anxiety will always be there at every stage in one's life.

"There will be stress in life. I am 53 today and half my life is over, I am in a profession where every Friday life changes. Some of my films have done well, some have tanked. Some things have went well, some haven't. It does feel bad. Maybe out of 70 films of mine only 30 have worked. It is not that there is success rate. But at the end, everything goes well," he said.

The "Jab Harry Met Sejal" actor said he usually spends his birthday meeting friends and fans.

"One should not own anything. I don't own my birthday also. I don't get to be with family much. I usually have bath, meet friends, media and fans. It feels good that everyone loves me so much."

Zero: How Shah Rukh Khan took extra measures to protect Anushka Sharma's look from being leaked

Ringing in the birthday at midnight is a common feature among Bollywood folks. But while most stars cut a cake and celebrate with their family and friends at midnight, superstar Shah Rukh Khan's birthday celebrations are tad different.

As King Khan turned a year older on Friday, fans gathered outside Mannat, his residence in Bandra, Mumbai to catch a glimpse of their favourite actor. And Khan did not disappoint. SOon after cutting a birthday cake in the presence of family and friends, Khan stepped out to greet the crowd that had gathered outside to wish him. He waved, smiled and even gave few T-shirts to the thousands of fans who had lined up on the road at midnight.

Khan's friends, filmmakers Karan Johar and Zoya Akhtar also shared photos and videos of the celebration at home. Wishing Khan success for his upcoming film 'Zero', Johar wrote, "Happy birthday bhai!!!! Have known Gauri and you for 25 years and it will always be the most special relationship of my life!!! Thank you for being family and for all the memories ...and here’s to many more!!! May #zero be your biggest and hugest blockbuster!!!(sic)"

Shah Rukh Khan turns 53, celebrations begin at Mannat from midnight

The much-awaited trailer of ‘Zero’ is finally here.

Shah Rukh Khan aces his dwarf look in the film. Katrina Kaif does justice as an actress battling alcoholism while Anushka Sharma’s character is the biggest surprise as she is wheelchair-bound for the first time and has a speech problem.

The trailer promises that the film has more layers than it appears. Shah Rukh’s character is seen romancing both Anushka and Katrina’s characters but we’re not sure if that runs parallel in the film.

With a lesser number of films that the Bollywood Khans do every year, movie buffs wait keenly for films that star them as the leading man. 'Zero': Shah Rukh Khan's film to get solo release on December 21

Shah Rukh Khan is all set to play Rakesh Sharma, the first Indian man on space, in a biopic. The filming will start in February 2019 revealed producer Ronnie Screwvala.
The film will be directed by Mahesh Mathai and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Screwvala under their banners Roy Kapur Films and RSVP Films respectively. The biopic will be written by Anjum Rajabali.

There were reports that Bhumi Pednekar has been signed opposite Shah Rukh in the film, reportedly titled 'Saare Jahaan Se Achcha' but Ronnie said an official announcement will be made soon.

"We are doing that film with Shah Rukh Khan. We should begin it by February or March next year, but we haven't announced the female lead yet," Ronnie was quoted a saying to a news agency.

The producer, who has also backed Sushant Singh Rajput-Sara Ali Khan starrer 'Kedarnath', said going forward he wants to be more involved in each and every project he is a part of.

"This time around there is no compulsion. I can do three movies a year, or six. Telling the stories I want to tell is most important. That's what I'm going to focus on, bring deeply involved with everything, from cast and script. That's the plan," he said.

Ronnie was speaking on the sidelines of the 20th edition of Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, where his 'Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota' had its India premiere.

The producer said when he was approached by director Vasan Bala, he understood the filmmaker's vision.

"If you look at the script and read it, at that stage you might get question marks- what, why and how is this happening. For me to work with Vasan in the long term was very important. I understood the vision and decided to back it.

"With this kind of movie you think what more we can do to make it more mainstream. So the music came on to some different level and the cast was already perfect," he added.

The film chronicles the story of a young man born without pain receptors who longs to defeat 100 opponents in a kumite tournament.

Meanwhile, SRK is currently finishing post-production work on his ambitious 'Zero' which is being produced and directed by Anand L Rai. The film will have SRK playing a dwarf and co-stars Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma and Abhay Deol in key roles. The film will be releasing in December 2018.

Shah Rukh Khan to start working on Rakesh Sharma biopic from February 2019

Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in ‘Zero’ alongside Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, two Bollywood ladies he has already worked with. Gearing up for release by December this year, the film’s distribution rights have already been sold for a whopping amount.

If reports are to be believed, the all-India distribution rights of the film have been sold for Rs 100 crore on an advance basis. The report states that the movie will have to do a minimum of Rs 190 crore to break even. Interestingly, Shah Rukh Khan's last few films have been sold on minimum guarantee but ‘Zero’ is on an advance basis which means, in case of loss distributors can claim for the refund.

While the amount is big in itself, in comparison to Shah Rukh’s previous film, ‘Dilwale’, it's quite less.

The trailer of the film will come out on November 3, Shah Rukh’s birth date. The film will also see Salman Khan and other stars in cameo appearances.

The second episode of Karan Johar’s ‘Koffee With Karan’ turned out to be a lot of fun with guests Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar giving us some crazy moments as they spoke about themselves, upcoming films, equations with fellow stars and more.

Out of all, when Ranveer was asked whether he would like to work again with wife-to-be Deepika or co-star Alia Bhatt, he quickly said that he would like to work with them both in the remake/ sequel of an iconic film -- ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai 2’.

At the show, Ranveer said that the trio will make for the perfect cast for the film’s remake. He said he will get into the shoes of Shah Rukh Khan for Rahul’s character. As for Salman Khan who played a cameo in the film, Aman’s role should be taken up by Ranbir Kapoor. He said, “Yeah, it would be like 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai 2'. And then, Ranbir (Kapoor) can enter as Salman. What a great idea! It's a block, Karan. Do it.”

Meanwhile, on several occasions when Karan has been questioned about making a remake of the film, he has always shown interest in bringing Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai came out in 1998 and had Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji in key roles.
On the personal front, Ranveer and Deepika are all set to tie the knot on November 14 and 15. They took to social media to announce the big news.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai completes 20 years today as it marks the coming together of Bollywood’s favourite trio -- Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and director Karan Johar, who went on to deliver massive hits in the industry. A mega-blockbuster, the film also had Rani Mukerji in a small yet relevant role.

Looking back at what happened right with the film, Karan Johar said that the hero of the film, Shah Rukh was “a bit of a fraud”. He elaborated, “Rahul was a bit of a fraud anyway. He used to say ‘we love once, marry once’ but did it twice. In my head, I hope the marriage works, but it must have been a tough marriage. I hope the little Anjali (Sana Saeed) isn’t messed up, because at eight she was loaded with so much information.”

The film proved to be so much more than just a story of friendship and love as it strengthened a strong bond between the trio who became unbreakable for many years to come.

The film was special for Karan as it was his first directorial but he admits that Shah Rukh really came out as a friend and supported him in the journey. Karan said, “It was a doctor’s set with Shah Rukh in it and I had directed it poorly but he (Shah Rukh) was kind. When I shot that dentist scene, I edited immediately and showed it to him. I realised it was a bad scene and told him about it.

In a tweet, Karan wrote: "I can’t believe it’s been #20YearsOfKKHH ! Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan in ‘100 Outstanding People list for 2017’

This could be a cast of dream project in Bollywood. A film which would feature the superstar Khans along with the top actors of the present day. But some of Bollywood's biggest names came together to create a 'blockbuster' photo and not a movie on Wednesday night.

Karan Johar shared an image and aptly titled it as, "The biggest BLOCKBUSTER ever!!!!!". The photo features KJo along with Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt.

This could be a cast of dream project in Bollywood. A film which would feature the superstar Khans along with the top actors of the present day. But some of Bollywood's biggest names came together to create a 'blockbuster' photo and not a movie on Wednesday night.

Ranbir-Alia, Deepika-Ranveer, SRK-Aamir create a 'blockbuster' photo for Karan Johar

She may be a name to reckon with in the acting world but Kajol admits that she learnt the craft hands-on, one film at a time.

Ahead of her upcoming film 'Helicopter Eela', Kajol, one of the most spontaneous actors in the industry spoke to a news agency and stated that she has grown with each of her films. The actress recalled that Shah Rukh Khan, with whom she has done several blockbuster films, told her on the sets of Baazingar to learn how to act.

I remember having a conversation during 'Baazigar' with Shah Rukh Khan and he told me, I should learn how to act and I was like, 'I am doing so fabulously well'. He told me I need to burn out as an actor, I felt, he talks nonsense sometimes.

"But when I was shooting for 'Udhar Ki Zindagi', I was like, 'I can't do films that are so heavy, it sucks so much out of you'. I did not want to do that anymore."
Kajol termed 'Bekhudi', 'Udhar Ki Zindagi' (1994) and 'Dushman' (1998) as her favourites.

Kajol remembered discussing with Tanuja that she wanted to do lighter films and not be part of emotionally draining movies.

"... I (told her) that I want to do films with three songs, three scenes, etc. So I signed up films like 'Hulchul' and 'Gundaraj', among others."

But after taking up a series of light-hearted films, Kajol changed her mind and featured in a hard-hitting film like 'Dushman'. The actor says she had initially rejected the project."I had said 'no' to it because I did not want to do a film with a rape scene in it. I didn't want to enact that. I felt it would be difficult for me. I am not comfortable with somebody doing that to me on-screen, even for a shot or whatever," Kajol added.

But director Tanuja Chandra and producer Pooja Bhatt assured her that they will shoot the scene aesthetically and use a body double. It was 'Dushman' that helped Kajol master the art of body language, she said.

Kajol said with Karan Johar's directorial debut 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', she realised the importance of chemistry between co-stars.

"What I realised is that when you have fun off-screen, it translates on screen. Your off-screen equation is conveyed on screen. There is some relatability that comes on screen... You don't know what is it that attracts people," the actor, who featured opposite long-time friend Shah Rukh, said.
