Now, eagle-eyed fans in Hong Kong have spotted a message from the creators that points toward the city's democracy movement that took place in 2020 and shows solidarity with the protestors. Reportedly, in the fifth episode titled "Final DeSmithation" of the ongoing sixth season, some letters and numbers flash on the screen during the climax. While the unsuspecting numbers and letters may appear random to a layman, some devoted viewers got down to decoding them. The first code is a pseudonym for the slogan "Liberate Hong Kong, revolution of our times" which has been declared illegal in Hong Kong by the Chinese authorities. The phrase was first used in 2016 but gained prominence during the pre-democracy protests. Similarly, DLLM (short of “Diu Lei Lou Mo”) is a popular cuss word in Hong Kong which is usually hurled at the recipient's mother. Reportedly, during the protest, both the authorities and protestors hurled the particular word at each other rather frequently. The internet sleuths also deduced that the numbers in the last two codes could be referring to the August 31, 2019 incident when the protestors were attacked at a train station in Yuen Long by government supporters and police. "Thank you to the producers of Rick and Morty," one of the netizens commented in the forum. Meanwhile, another said, "The ingenuity and longevity of creative protest is laudable." As reported extensively by WION, China introduced the highly controversial National Security Bill for Hong Kong in 2020 amid a sea of protests. The bill, which is now a law in Hong Kong, attempts to punish crimes of secession, sedition, and collusion with foreign forces. And since then, on multiple occasions, ordinary citizens have been locked or beaten black and blue for deviating from the set standards of free speech. Reportedly, channel Adult Swim will air an all-new Halloween special of their hit series titled 'The Great Yokai Battle of Akihabara' on October 10 with a recap scheduled for October 16. It will have 'Rick and Morty' coming and doing their fun bit in between.

Although the creators of 'Rick and Morty' and Adult Swim are tight-lipped about what's going to happen in the upcoming short and where will it air, schedules out of Toonami and Adult Swim Canada showed the date and time early per the CN schedules Twitter account.

Adult Swim has not menitoned anything about 'Rick and Morty' short but has left a fifteen-minute slot open--between 11 to 11:15 pm ET--pretty much confirms the air time for this halloween-special short.&nbsp; 
The Halloween special will be an anime of horror in between normal episodes. The synopsis says, "Rick plans to build the ultimate AI toaster; Things take a strange turn when he and Morty are forced to travel to Akihabara for spare parts."&nbsp;

 
Interestingly, this is not the first time Rick and Morty have paid tribute to anime whiel doing normal episodes. 'Summer Meets God' (Rick Meets Evil) also took inspirtation from Voltron and Evangelion in a rather odd commentary on Japanese animation directed by Tower of God's Takashi Sano. Sano also directed Rick and Morty vs. Genocider, another teaser sort of anime short that was released before season 5 premiere.&nbsp;

Eddie Murphy won his first-ever Emmy on the fifth night of the show, the legendary actor and comedian, 59, took home the award for Outstanding Guest Actor In A Comedy Series for his hosting spot on Saturday Night Live last December.
