On Thursday, AS Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro said the club supported the French league's anti-homophobia campaign.

Star French striker Kylian Mbappe can win the Ballon d'Or in "any team", Ronaldinho told AFP Sunday, but the Brazilian would like him to win it with Paris Saint-Germain, "a big club".

"We had one day's training, for one hour, to prepare for this game."

The result, which was achieved despite captain Marquinhos and teenage midfield prodigy Warren Zaire-Emery both missing out through injury, was a boost for Luis Enrique's team ahead of a crucial home Champions League clash with Newcastle United.

PSG were also grateful to goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma who denied Reims a route back into the game with a string of superb saves, as Luis Enrique's team recovered from their midweek Champions League loss to AC Milan.

Mbappe is Ligue 1's leading scorer with 13 goals in 11 appearances this season, with the France captain also having netted twice in European competition.

Yet his coach was not entirely delighted with his superstar's display.

"We know Kylian Mbappe's worth, but he can do better. I want even more from him," the Spaniard said.

"He is one of the world's best players, but he still has a lot of room to get better. I don't want him to rest on his laurels."

Mbappe had earlier indicated that he was not completely pleased with his own game as he spoke to broadcaster Amazon Prime.

"In all modesty I don't need to be playing well to score goals, but I want to do both, score goals and play well. That is my objective, to always help the team as well as I can," Mbappe said.

Asked about bouncing back from the setback in Milan, Mbappe added: "It is a different competition and all we wanted to do was win. Nice drew and we wanted to take top spot. It's job done and we are happy with that."

That 2-1 defeat in Milan on Tuesday left PSG's hopes of reaching the Champions League knockout phase in the balance with two group games still to go, but they do finally appear to have found their rhythm domestically after a stuttering start to the campaign.

The PSG side missing the suspended Achraf Hakimi and Randal Kolo Muani were again grateful to Donnarumma when the Italian repelled a Marshall Munetsi header on 56 minutes, and three minutes later they went 2-0 up.

Mbappe evaded his marker with a brilliant darting run to the back post where he converted a perfect assist rolled across the face of goal by Carlos Soler.

Donnarumma was at it again as he once more denied Zimbabwe midfielder Munetsi, before Mbappe finished off a cutback from substitute Bradley Barcola to make it 3-0 with eight minutes left.

Nice are still unbeaten this season after their stalemate on Friday in Montpellier, and they have still not been behind in a single game this season.

Ousmane Dembele, Randal Kolo Muani, Achraf Hakimi and Layvin Kurzawa were given the suspension after being filmed singing a homophobic song towards Marseille fans, the president of the French league (LFP) disciplinary committee told PSG.

PSG fans were also heard using the same homophobic chants - despite repeated calls for it to end over the last four years.

After receiving the punishment, the quartet released a statement, apologising for their actions, saying that they let themselves 'get carried away' with the euphoria of the 4-0 win on September 24.

Notably, the four players will be available for PSG's match against Rennes this weekend as the ban kicks into effect on October 10. They will miss the Strasbourg game which could seriously hamper the team's momentum, which hasn't been great to begin with.&nbsp;

The league champions have had a difficult start to the campaign as they find themselves sitting fifth on the points table, having lost one and drawn three matches.&nbsp;

On the continental space, PSG suffered a harrowing 1-4 defeat against Newcastle at St&nbsp;James' Park, earlier this week. The Geordies, playing their first Champions League home game in over two decades managed to completely dominate the French side from the get-go,&nbsp;

Goals from Miguel Almiron, Dan Burn, Fabian Schar and Sean Longstaff sunk PSG as the likes of Mbappe and Dembele could not make much of an impact on the game.&nbsp;
