The deputy spoke to an unidentified woman at the front door, who matched Haley's description and concluded that the call was a hoax, according to a sheriff’s office report. The January 1 swatting attempt had not been previously reported but Haley alluded to the incident during NBC's "Meet the Press" programme on Sunday (Jan 28). Although Haley didn't provide a date for the incident or share details of what happened but added that it had happened twice already. “I will tell you that the last thing you want is to see multiple law enforcement officials with guns drawn pointing at my parents and thinking that something happened. It was an awful situation,” the former South Carolina governor added. At the time, a man called the police and claimed to have shot a woman and threatened to harm himself at her home. Craig Harris, Kiawah Island director of public safety, cleared that it was a fake emergency as Haley was not on the island. “It was determined to be a hoax. So far, she has suffered defeats in the Iowa and New Hampshire primaries but has vowed to keep going till the end. Authorities believe that owing to Haley's high-profile nomination race, she has become the target of unruly members of society who are attempting to silence her voice. <p>The governor of South Carolina took the pledge to move forward with her plan to carry out a rally in her home state and insisted that she still had a path.</p>

<p>“I have news for all of them. New Hampshire is first in the nation. It is not the last,” said Haley, to the cheering audience. “This race is far from over. There are dozens of states left to go, and the next one is my sweet state of South Carolina," said the former United Nations ambassador</p>

<p>"I'm a fighter. And I'm scrappy. And now we're the last one standing next to Donald Trump," said the Indian-American leader.</p>

<p>“The worst-kept secret in politics is how badly the Democrats want to run against Donald Trump. They know Trump is the only Republican in the country who Joe Biden can defeat," she added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Even before the results came, Haley's supporters and allies insisted that it had all expectations of moving ahead.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Reacting further to the defeat in New Hampshire, Haley challenged Trump to a debate.</p>

<p>“The other day Donald Trump accused me of not providing security at the Capitol on January 6th. Now, I've longed called for mental competency tests for politicians over the age of 75...he should have no problem standing on a debate stage with me," said Haley.</p>
